Rating: 2 stars
Summary: Not as good...
Review: This story didn't measure up to Susan Elizabeth Phillips standards. There wasn't as much wit, and barely any fire, if any. I liked the Daphne story twists, but the heroine seemed a little contrived and not so well developed. The story dragged. I trudged through it anyway.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Great book, but ...
Review: Susan Elizabeth Phillips is one of my favorite authors and she is the kinda of author whose books I always buy, automatically. I have been waiting for this particular book for almost 2 years since I live outside US and I can only afford buying the paperback edition. However, after I read it, It did not really meet my expectation when I first heard the news about Kevin and Molly were going to have their own book.

I felt like something was missing from this book. Most of the scenes jumped so fast from one another and sometimes I couldn't even be sure if Kevin and Molly really DO love each other. There are few issues that Ms. Phillips did not explore, for instance why Kevin started to feel restless at the first place?

However, I'm can't say that I'm disappointed with this book (that's why I gave it 4 stars). Ms. Phillips still maintained her funny and witty writings. I laughed at loud at the "baseball blood-bath" scenes. Daphne the Bunny and Benny the Badger were great! I love how she wrote passages from Daphne books or article from Chik magazine to start each chapters. And I also love to read about recurring characters like Dan and Phoebe (and the kids!!) from "It Had to Be You" also Cal and Dr. Jane and Rosie from "Nobody's Baby But Mine". She also mentioned other Bonners from "Dream a Little Dream", the Dentons from "Heaven, Texas" and a Traveller (which I'm sure it was Kenny) from "Lady, Be Good". I still love Ms. Phillips' books and I'm totally waiting for her other novels.

Summary: Absolutely terrific!!
Review: I just have to say, that Phillips book "This Heart of Mine" is just about the best novel I have ever read! It was funny, touching, emotional, sweet, and very entertaining. Phillips has an incredible way of creating her characters. They're funny and witty and smart. She definitely knows how to write a "great love story". My heart ached through all of Molly and Kevin's trials. Thank you for a very enjoyable book. I definitely recommend this book to romance lovers. You won't want to put it down. ;o)

Summary: Absolutely Mag!
Review: I love this book. It has everything you would want in a romance, it's funny and sad. The characters are well-written, and you can actually feel all that they feel. The only reason why this got four stars is because it kinda tossed me off when they started a whole storyline for a certain character, and the main character, Molly, was too over-emotional for me. But, other than that I loved this. I want to marry a guy like Kevin Tucker, he's great.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: DAPHNE TRIUMPHS
Review: Loved the book, especially the subplot with Daphne and Benny, the literary animal characters in the heroine's stories. Ms. Phillips has scored another hit. I love that she fills in the gaps she creates in previous stories. It was fun to have a story for Kevin and Molly, previously introduced to her faithful fans in former books. I look forward to each and every one of this author's books, she never disappoints.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Read it TWICE!!
Review: I've never read a book twice. Right after I finished it, I read it all over again to savor the parts I'd missed. It's spicy, with characters that have issues just like you and I. After reading this book, other books just didn't measure up! Try it yourself.

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: not sep's best
Review: After reading almost all SEP's other books, I had very high expectations for the story of Kevin and Molly. I was more than a little dissapointed with it. I was left feeling like the story never quite reached its full potential.
I looved Kevin but it seemed like he was never really fleshed out, there were hints of deep feeling, of a little boy lost but he was left largely unexplored.
Molly is another story. In the beginning she was sort of a smart, sassy, insecure and funny young woman. However, towards the middle of the story she kind of deteriorated into a smart mouth, crazy, needy person. The stunts she kept on pulling got kind of tiring as the story wore on. I almost awarded this book four stars in spite of all this but then I remenbered the love scene in which Molly started fantasizing she was someone else while Kevin was making love to her. What the heck was that all about?
anyway, I recommend this book only to those who are hard core SEP fans.

Summary: Believable characters make for an enjoyable read
Review: I enjoyed listening to a taped version of THIS HEART OF MINE
by Susan Elizabeth Phillps . . . this is a novel about a woman who
gives away her fifteen million dollar inheritance to become a struggling
writer . . . not quite sure that would be my choice, but hey, I
regretfully never thad that choice . . . she is happy about almost
everything except her long term crush on the quaterback for a
professional football team (who can't even remember her
name) . . . by the end of the tale, he does . . . the dialogue was
partcularly execellent--both funny and heartwarming . . . I understand
that the characters had appeared in other books by the
author; I'm now tempted to go back to "meet" them . . . Jennifer
Van Dyke did a fine job on the narration.

Summary: OK but..........
Review: The plot of this book is a bit contrived but I was able to get beyond that. The Daphne books twist was original and fun reading at the beginning of each chapter. The book lost it's umph at the ending when Phoebe and family appeared. Molly IS a 27 year old woman and I rather doubt that anyone that age, especially someone who's had to partically raise herself would put up with that much family interference but even that I was able to overlook. What capped my rating was the proposal and Molly's need to have Kevin "prove" himself yet again. The man had just given up his career plans, faced down her powerful family and she still needs more?! Too emotional needy for a truly loving relationship. Left me wanting to say grow up.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: I Love This Book
Review: I have been a Phillips fan for many years and this just blew me away. I laughed, I cried: what more can you ask? I love snappy dialogue and this book is loaded with it--what a treat. I fell in love with the characters and the situations were outlandish, but just crazy enough to be true. Also the setting was so relaxing, I felt like I'd had a mini-vacation. I didn't want it to end. Oh, yes, you'll love Daphne the bunny.
