Summary: Elsie's Endless Wait
Review: I thought this was a great book. The reason i liked the book was it showed a little girl loving God to the fullest, and not letting any one get in her way. This book shows Elsie Dinmore's walk with God or Faith. ith God. I think this is a great book for girls ages 10 to 14. This book also shows that you can be seven and have a stronger belief in God than someone who is twenty. There are eight in this series including this one so take a little time and read these great books.

Summary: Classic Still-Must Have For Family Library!
Review: Our whole family can hardly wait till the next night to read aloud from the new Elsie series. We picked up a paper back from the original series last summer and read it. Although we enjoyed the story we were so glad to find the newer versions by Mission City Press. While these new versions are chocked full of history they are much easier for our children to understand as the mid 1800's language has been updated. Elsie is an excellent influence on our daughters! We are all chomping-at-the-bit for the newest releases and the Christmas book. We highly recommend these books as a must for your personal library and are collecting them for our own library. We also have provided a complete(to date) series for our public library.

Review: The Elsie Dinsmore stories are full of encouragement and hope.My daughter and I have read the first four Elsie Dinsmore A Life ofFaith series by Mission City Press, we laughed and cried our way through little Elsie's life. However, a note to those who are purchasing this series ... the Mission City Press editions are a revised writing of Martha Finley's Elsie Classics. Since purchasing the Mission City Press series I discovered that the stories in these four books are covered in the 1st book of the Original Elsie Classics -- the 1st book is Elsie Dinsmore. If you are wanting the Original Elsie Dinsmore books -- I recommend those published by Cumberland House. Either publication will be a good read for you and your child.

Summary: Captivating, inspiring and AWESOME!!!
Review: The story drew me right into the life of the main character and I found myself wanting to be just like Elsie - with such a pure heart and such strong faith! I didn't want to stop reading, and when I finished the book, I wanted the next one in the series right away. I even loved the Foreword to the book which is full of fascinating information about the history and the social customs of the 19th century. This modern version is very well-written and much easier to read than the original 1868 text. The characters really come to life! The book inspired me to want a much closer walk with the Lord!

Review: This book is about a young girl named Elsie Dinsmore. If you like christian books, and books that go back in time; this book is for you. Elsie is a young girl, about 8 years old. She lives with her grandma, grandpa, aunts, and uncles. She lives with them because her mother dies when she was a little girl, and her father is away in Europe on business. Her grandparents think it was a mistake that she was even born, and neither of them trat her very well. Her aunts and uncles also arn't very nice to her. Read this book to find out how Elsie deal with all her troubles and how God has helped her through everything. This is the first book in the series. It was so good I can't wait to read the next. What i liked about this book: I am really into all the christian books, and this one really shows you how God can help you through anything and everything. This is one of those books that you just don't want to put down. I also like how it goes back in time. It doesn't happen n present day. There is nothing about this book that I didn't like. All round i though this was a really great book!

Summary: What an Awesome Book
Review: This book is about an eight year old girl named Elsie Dinsmore. Her mom passed away right after she was born. Her dad couldn't handle the pain so he moved away. Horace (Elsie's father) left Elsie to be taken care of at his parent's home. There Elsie is faced with many problems. Elsie turns her problems to God and he helps her through them. All Elsie wants is for her dad to come home. She wonders, will he come home, will he love her? I love how in this book Elsie looks to god amongst all her problems, and how He always helps her through. This is the best book that I have ever read. There is not one single thing in this book that I didn't like. This book is the first of eight books in the Elsie Dinsmore Series, A Life of Faith. I plan to read the next seven of these books. This book reminds me a lot of the Bible. It is all about God and it tells true things about what God does for you. This is a great book for girls thirteen and older. But I bet boys could enjoy this book as well. This is the best book that I have ever read and I hope you get a chance to read it.

She also lives with many of her aunt and uncles who are around her age. This book is about Elsie's Christian life and her struggles with her family. She has ups and downs, particularly with one character, her father. Elsie has a very hard life but continues to strengthen her relationship with Christ. She has to make many choices which could risk her life with God. I very much enjoyed this book. It was easy to relate to and it motivated me to have a relationship with God like Elsie. Even thought the young girl is only eight, she is very advanced in her faith. This book shows me hoe Elsie gets through her struggles. This is amazing to me because I have such a hard time and my struggles don't even compare to hers. This book also goes into great detail and puts you in Elsie's place. It keeps you guessing at how the different characters will react and keeps you turning the page. I would suggest this book to anyone who is having struggles believing in Christ. Elsie will encourage you to believe through her words and actions. This book was a true inspiration to me and helps me to grow strong in my faith. I hope that you chose this book to read so you can do the same!

Summary: Wonderful story with an engaging heroine
Review: This is an excellent book! It is impossible not to fall in love with the main character, Elsie Dinsmore. The story line flows well and is very detailed in its depiction of the 19th century south, prior to the civil war. Both I and my 9 year old daughter became engrossed in the book and found it hard to put down. We look forward to reading the entire series.
