Rating: Summary: My name is also Mandy, and I am 10 years old. I liked it! Review: Mandy was an orphan, and she goes where she isn't supposed to go and finds a cottage. She gets sick and her friend tells the Matron of the orphanage. People named Bill and Ann help her and they want her to live with them. Mandy said yes and she visited the orphanage sometimes. It's exciting!
Rating: Summary: Mandy finds a cottage and works very hard to care for it. Review: When Mandy finds an apparently abandoned cottage she plants flowers, washes it and even steals silver ware for it. Will she get caught? When she gets sick, she evens trys to care for it and becomes terribly sick! I like this book because she loves her garden and works so hard to care for it.
Rating: Summary: I absolutely adored this book! Review: I read this book when I was in about 4th grade and have loved it ever since. I used to pretend I had a little cottage of my own in my backyard just like Mandy did. This is a beautiful and heartwarming book for young readers as well as old.
Rating: Summary: The Best Book I've Ever Read !!! Review: I'm a very picky person about what I read. So I chose Mandy because it looked adventures. As soon as I started reading my eyes got glued to the book and I couldn't put it down. I would have given these book a million stars but of course there weren't that many. That's how much I love this book. So if you haven't read Mandy, READ IT!
Rating: Summary: Mandy finds a wonderful cottage she calls her own. Review: Mandy goes over the wall one day and finds this beautiful cottage. It is really shabby, but Mandy puts some hard effort into making it the best cottage ever. When a storm comes and Mandy is still in the cottage, a stranger rescues her and takes her into his home, and soon the man adopts her and they live happily ever after.
Rating: Summary: A lovely story about an orphan, who will capture your heart Review: This story made me cry as a child. I loved every detail about her cottage, and how she cared for it so much. Now years later I still enjoy reading this book. It makes me want to find "Mandy" and give her a home. She is a warm, and loving child who nurtures an abandoned cottage back to its once gorgeous state. Her secret is solely her private little cottage and it excites you to see what she will do the next day. I can only hope that more young readers could enjoy this book half as much as I have. Julie Andrews is brilliant. I will make a point of searching out her other titles.
Rating: Summary: A wonderfully written first book by stage star Julie Andrews Review: Mandy is a 10 year-old orphan....what is a better way to start a heart-warming novel. This is a beautifully written book by the star of Darling Lili. the Sound of Music, and Mary Poppins - Julie Andrews. Written under her married name of Julie Edwards, it truely exhibits her wide variety of talents.
Rating: Summary: Mandy is about a girl who has a secret cottage. Review: Mandy is about a ten year old girl who lives in an orphanage. She has always been wondering what is over the wall that surrounds the orphanage. She keeps on disappearing from the orphanage, because she has climbed over the wall to find out what is over the wall. She is happy that she found out what is over the wall. Later there is an admirer; she is trying to find out who that admirer is. Read and find out for yourself!
Rating: Summary: A REALLY good book Review: I love this book. So does my best friend. I loaned it to her when we were in 5th grade, and she didn't give it back till this year (7th grade)!! Don't laugh, but after the 1st time my mother read it to me, Heather (my best friend), Dale (her brother), Shalisa, and I did renditions of it called "The Many and Sue Adventures". We had lots of fun. But if you like places of your own, go get "Mandy" NOW!!
Rating: Summary: It was very exiting! You don't know what will come next! Review: The book was wonderful. the best part is where Mandy is sick and figures out her so called "prince" was just some guy that owned the estate. I also liked the part when she gets those notes from the "Admirer." There are many possibilities of who it could be. Read it to find out! I did! I reccomend you read this book. Especially if you like what you heard above!
