Summary: My Absolute Favorite
Review: I read this book as a child, and I just fell in love with it. For a while, I told my parents that I wanted to be an orphan! I think Mrs. Edwards does a great job in dealing with the "angst" of this age. She offers an escape, the cottage, that every little shy, lonely girl would like as her own. My seven-year-old daughter just finished the book, and I still think it is the most precious gift that I could have given to her.

Summary: Mandy
Review: Mandy is a wonderful book on a girl who climbs over a wall and finds a secret cottage.

Summary: Totally Awesom!
Review: This was a great book. I loved the characters. The Author made it seem as if you were really there. I can really emphasize on what Mandy was going through. I was an orphan once and I know what it is like to be not wanted. I am a happy daughter of loving parents and have a great sister. My dog is like my best friend I can really talk to him. My life has taken a turn for the better like Mandy's did. I hope all the orphans out there get a family as great as mine. I relize I am a very lucky girl and I thank GOD for this second chance. Not Everyone is as lucky as I am. Thanks Julie, you helped me relize how lucky I am.

Summary: MANDY: THE BEST BOOK I READ
Review: This was the best book I read. I loved how Mandy discovered her own secret place for herself. My favorite part was the ending. I won't tell you it, you have to read it first.

Summary: Mandy (Reading Rainbow) Julie Andrews Edwards
Review: I am now 33 years old; when I was about 10 years old I remember my Grandmother giving me this book. I still remember the storey line today. I have been searching for this book for years, not quite remembering the title! Now that I have found it and have purchased it I look forward to giving it to my niece, she enjoy's reading and I know she will enjoy it as much as I did. Those who wonder if their daughters will enjoy it, they will! It intrigues every little girls imagination I think!

Summary: A little girl like me ...
Review: I love this book. I first read it when I was really young. My mom had a copy from when she was my age and she shared it with me. I liked it because it wasn't about a picked on orphan, it was about a little girl like me with hopes and dreams.

Summary: A Childhood Favorite!
Review: Many years ago I read this wonderful story for the first time. I still have that copy and have lived all over the world with it in my possession. What a wonderful, secret journey on which Mandy embarks-one that any child who has ever felt alone can feel warmth and hope.

Summary: I loooooooooooooove this book!
Review: One of the reasons I liked this books so much is because Mandy reminded me a lot of myself. I would die of happiness if I found a little cottage in the woods. I would love fixing it up and making it pretty. I would go to any lengths to hide it from the rest of the world. This sounds like the kind of book I would write if I was an author. Wow!

Summary: prettiest book in the children's library
Review: When I was 8 I renewed this book from my local library for over a year. It is a great book to give a child, a dreamy book full of lush images of plant life, architecture, animals, and kind, generous adults. Mandy's interior life and adventures are vividly written and her self-reliance is a wonderful model.

Summary: I'm amazed at the other reviews of this book
Review: I came searching for this book, remembering only that, as a child, I loved a book called mandy about a little orphan girl. I was sure I'd never read it again. I'm amazed to read that so many other people read it in their childhood and were similarily affected. If your child(ren) liked this, try Danny Champion of the World, by Roald Dahl. It was my other favorite as a child.
