Summary: One of my favorites from childhood!
Review: This book was originally published in 1971, the year I was born, and I first read it when I was about nine years old. A gift from a family friend, the book turned me on to a life-long love of reading. I loved the book! It still has a place on my bookshelf and I find myself reading it and falling in love with it over and over again. I have given it to everyone I know with children. Enchanting.

Summary: BEST BOOK I HAVE EVER READ!!!
Review: Ever since I have read this book, I alway want to read it again (for like the 10th time) I would rate it over 10, like a 20. All my friends and I agree that you get through this book SO fast, because you are ALWAYS reading it, straight through to the end. It is so inspiring, and you just want to have the same feeling that Mandy felt when she climbed over that wall, you just want too feel as comforted as Mandy did. Therefore, I think that Julie Andrews should win MANY awards for this book, and it should be recommened more than it has been,a nd be advertised more aswell. If you feel the same way I do about this book, and you have read a book that you liked as much as you did this one, or you thought was similar, PLEASE e-mail me with the title, and the author, and any other info that would help me select this book, THANX!!!!

Summary: The best book I ever read!
Review: I think this was a great book for anybody. I loved the book, I hated to put it down. The summary on the back cover was really good because it made you want to read it but it didn't give away to much. I really loved the part when Mandy was finding all the letters and thought it was a prince then found out who it really was.

Summary: my all-time-favorite in it's class
Review: Mandy is a book any girl would love. I read it three times so far and I'm planning to read it again. It is a great adventure story but also a classic tale of an orphan girl and her dreams. I think anybody who reads it will find that one of her dreams matches their own. It's great to dream along with Mandy. Catharina (11

Summary: I've fallen in love with this book.
Review: Oh, I love this book. It is such a wonderful story that leaves you with a little ache in your heart because it is so magical. The author describes Mandy in such awesome detail that you feel as though you know her so well you can just peer into her very soul. I don't know how to express the awe I felt the first time I read it, in the third grade, but the hardcover addition at the library got a lot of use until I found my own copy

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: A very goodfirst novel, and a great read for kids & parents.
Review: Ms. Andrews tells an incredible, facinating, and delihtful story in this book, and parents should be recommended in getting this book fr their children. Mandy is a wonderful character, and I was rooting for her every step of the way, from her first journey to the cottage, to her strugles to keep her secret from the headmistress, to her ultimate triumph when the owner finally makes her fondest wish come true. It is a shame the hardcover version is a hard item to find, but I recomend the paperback version to anyone to get for their child's libary and for thier own as well. Stephen R. Saturda
