Summary: THIS STORY IS HIGH CAMP...well, maybe low....
Review: In Ralph's second adventure he spends the summer at Camp Happy Acres, but he is not a happy camper! He has had it with being unappreciated by his extensive family at the Mountain View Inn. He's tired of being caught in the Generation Gap at this shady rest stop for tired travelers; he has made up his ingenious little mind to seek freedom (and hopefuly PBJ sandwiches) at a more promising location. Unlike the commercials about getting there being half the fun, poor Ralph does not enjoy the dust, noise and gasoline smells on the open road, even though his journey is downhill.

At the coed camp he meets a veritable menagerie of two- and four-footed creatures: there is kindly Aunt Jill who mothers all the Garf--an anti-social boy who sings horrid songs about maiming animals. Next comes Catso--the camp's feline mascot who delights in torturing mice; not to mention Chum--a grouchy hamster in summer residence. But how can Ralph ever ride his famous motorcycle home again, since it is Uphill? Even before that, how can he escape from his display cafe in the Crafts Shed, so he can reveal himself as the creative humanitarian who will clear the name of his unlikely human friend? Ralph will roll right into your heart and your funnybone with his hotwheels antics--a cute read and delightful sequel to The Mouse and the Motorcycle.

Summary: Ralph gets more than he bargained for on this adventure!
Review: Ralph S. Mouse is tired of being told what to do. He's annoyed with his younger siblings. So, what's a young mouse with a motorcycle going to do? Why, take off on an adventure of the open road. With a "Pb--pb--p--p--p" Ralph heads downhill toward Happy Acres Camp to seek the company of boys his "age" and PBJ sandwiches. But the adventure isn't what he expected. He doesn't like the smells of gasoline or the dust and wind that whips his face, and when he finally gets to the camp, he finds that things aren't quite what he anticipates. There is a cat to avoid, a problem kid who sings songs about torturing helpless animals, and he gets caught in a cage. How will Ralph get back to safety, will anyone find the motorcycle he's hidden in the shrubbery? And how will he ever get up the hill that he came down? Anybody who enjoys adventure, or has ever run away from home ( I got as far as our boat when I was 5), will love the excitement of going on this adventure with Ralph.

Summary: THIS BOOK IS HIGH CAMP...well, maybe low...
Review: Ralph's second adventure has him spending the summer at Camp Happy Acres, after departing the Mountain View Inn in a huff of Rodent Individualism. Yes sir, he has had it with being Unappreciated by his extensive family; he's tired of being caught in the Generation Gap--neither adult nor baby. Yup, he's made up his mischievous mind to show them all, to run away (with his famous wheels, all downhill, of course) to seek freedom (and hopefully PBJ sandwiches).

Unlike those travel ads about getting there being half the fun, Ralph eats enough dust to recognize the freewheeling lifestyle on the highway as bunk. But he meets quite a menagerie at Camp: kindly Aunt Jill, and an anti-social kid named Garf who sings horrid songs about maiming animals. Then there are the four footed pests: Catso--a feline who delights in torturing mice, and Chum--a grouchy hamster/cum temporary camp mascot.

How long will vacationing Ralph remain silent? And how can he ever ride his motorcycle back home again, since it is all uphill? Even before that quandry, how can he escape from his cage in the Crafts Shed and clear the name of his reluctant human friend? A cute read for fans of Ralph S. Mouse, Mouse about Inn and Country!

Summary: My favorite mouse rides again
Review: Runaway Ralph is a pleasant journey provided by Cleary. There is both high action in the encounters with Catso and time for thinking in the introspection provided by Chum the gerbil. The only shortcoming is that I was looking for a little more solid of a change in Garf's character; he starts off as a loner and I expected Ralph and him, through their bonding, would each learn to appreciate their peers more. Nonetheless an entertaining read.

Review: Runaway Ralph

The novel Runaway Ralph, by Beverly Clearly is a story about a mouse named Ralph and he runs away from home on his red chrome motorcycle. He ends up at Happy Acers summer camp.
Some of the characters I liked are Ralph because he is curious and exciting. Also Chum he is lazy and useless. A character I disliked was Sam because he was rude to Ralph. In Runaway Ralph the thing I like the most is how the animals can talk to each other and that the animals can talk to humans at the same time. The ending of the book Starts in the middle sort of because of what happens at this point of the book.
I think that this novel is written well. I mean that the way that this book was written fits the way this story is told. I think that this book is for people that enjoy animal Storys and fiction books. If there were an age lament I would say that the ages 8-12. I recommend this book to these ages because it is a story that a kid this age will understand this book. I give this book****.

Summary: It's my favorite Beverly Cleary book!
Review: This book is a good story. I think that everybody shoulud read it until you can read chapter books. I like the cover of hte book because Ralph looks cute on the motorcycle. I read a lot of Beverly Cleary chapter books and they are all great! Ralph can talk in the story. But not one mouse can talk in the universe for real. I like his one song they sing. It goes "Bill grogan's goat was feeling fine, Ate three red shirts right off the line." That's why I like this Chapter book. I like all of the Beverly Cleary book. My favorite book of hers is Runaway Ralph.
