Summary: A mouse's marvelous adventure
Review: "Runaway Ralph," by Beverly Cleary, tells a story about Ralph, a mouse who lives with his family in a hotel. Ralph finds himself in conflict with both the nagging older generation of mice and the annoying younger group; he longs for "a life of speed and danger and excitement." So he sets off on his mouse-sized motorcycle and has an adventure in which he encounters many new people, animals, and situations.

"Ralph" is a fun adventure story that is filled with humor and suspense. Cleary includes well-written characters and many clever details as Ralph's journey progresses. An important aspect of the novel is Ralph's ability to talk to both other animals (of various species) and certain humans. This fantasy element of the book, similar to the communication in the classic story "Charlotte's Web," is skillfully handled by Cleary.

Ralph is a great character. Despite his personal flaws, his essential courage and resourcefulness make him admirable. I see Ralph as a questing hero in the mold of such classic characters as Homer's Odysseus or Cervantes' Don Quixote. Finally, for an interesting companion text to "Ralph," try Felice Holman's powerful novel "Slake's Limbo."

Summary: Runaway Ralph
Review: ...Runaway Ralph is about a mouse who runs away from home with his motorcycle and ends up in happy acres camp. Personally I think Beverly Cleary (the author) is trying to tell how bad it is to runaway from home. The book is so good I rate it a 5 out of 5.My favorite part is when Ralph is trying to escape from a cat and knocks almost everything in the craft center down. As you can see Runaway Ralph is a really good book.

Summary: ONE OF THE FEW BOOKS I CAN REMEMBER FROM MY CHILDHOOD.
Review: After many years, this book still brings back warm memories from my childhood. It's one of those books which children can relate to. The "big problems" which Ralph encounters as a young mouse causes him to just want to get away from it all. This decision embarks our fellow mouse on a great adventure in which he learns the importance of family values.

I strongly recommend this book. I'm just recently married and plan to buy it in the near future for my hopefully upcoming family!

Summary: Extraordinary Ralph
Review: Are you looking for a good book to read? Whell if you like mice and motercycles you will love this book. It's one of the best books on earth!
This book is about a mouse named Ralph s.mouse and a toy motercycle that really works! Raiph runs away from the hotel wich he lives at and goes to a boy's summer camp and gets into big trouble, but i'm not telling you what happens there.
My favorite thing about the book is how big of a heart Ralph has in his territory and how well Beverly Cleary decribes Ralph's adventure.
Theres's nothing I think the author could do better because the book is so awesome.
The theme of this book is if you run away , you'll soon find you want to come home.

Summary: Brave Ralph
Review: I read the book Runaway Ralph by Beverly Clearly. I like this book because the character shows that he is brave. The reason I think he is brave is because he went out on his own and survived by himself. My favorite character in the book is Ralph because he is brave and in the book it shows that he is not afraid of anything. When I was reading the book there was some parts that where very exiting and some parts where he got in to problems. After reading the book I rated the book 4 stars because there are also some parts that are not that good. This book is good for 3rd and sixth graders because they would like it very much.

Summary: A very engaging book for child and parent alike.
Review: I read this book to my then 5-year-old son, and quickly found I was as eager as he was to continue with the next chapter.

As in her other excellent books in the Henry Huggins and Ramona series, the author does a wonderful job of painting the rich tapestry of feelings that the title character experiences. You will never look at a mouse the same way again! As you experience Ralph's feelings and resulting actions, you realize that you may just be reading about the mouse that creeps around in your attic.

In fact, it is quite easy to imagine virtually everything in the book actually occurring in real life, save for the mouse-to-boy communication and the toy motorcycle that is mouse-sound-powered, which sprinkle just enough fantasy in to give the book just the right measure of magic. (Okay, mice probably don't conspire to ride off into the countryside as rebels ... or do they?)

The only problem I had with this book was that my son was so enthused about the book that he picked it up and continued reading it after I set the book down and tucked him in for sleep. (He is quite an advanced reader for his age, in part because of the many Beverly Cleary books he has read with his Dad.) One night, I had to quickly read three chapters of the book by myself just to catch up with him!

And I thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

Summary: A great book that teaches us not to runaway from home.
Review: I think Ralph gets into a lot of trouble, and people should read this book, and learn not to runaway. So if you read this book it will teach you to face your problems in talking and not running.

Summary: A Good Book!
Review: I think this book is a all right type of book. I know life has its struggles, but there is nothing worth running away from. I believe it was a couldn't keep the book down group, but I believe nothing is worth running away from.

Summary: Run Away Ralph By Beverly Cleary
Review: Imagine sitting under a huge grandfather clock at a motel until the strike of nine o'clock. Thats's exactly what Ralph did that night. Ralph is the only big mouse besides Uncle Lester, and he is adventurous. All of his other relatives are little, annoying brats that wants a ride on his red motorcycle. So he runs away to Happy Acres camp where he meets a kid named Garf. Garf is a kid who likes to be alone. Garf is also adventurous. This is a very adventurous and exciting and cool book. This book is for all ages. If you like adventurous books, this is your kind of book. I'm sure you will like the part when chum fills up his mouth with sun flower seeds. If you like Judy Blumes writing then you will like this book. This book is right for you!! By William Smithwick
