Rating: Summary: Good Military Mystery Review: I hate it when too much is given away about a mystery. So all I will say in a nutshell that this is a good story with great plot and character development. If you like stories like "Hunt for Red October" or any of the "Netforce" novels you probably will enjoy this book.
Rating: Summary: Op-Center Review: Op-Center proved itself in almost every way possible, showing the great literary skill Tom Clancy possesses. In this action packed novel Clancy manages to show multiple story lines and keep the reader interested in them all. There were a few holes in the plot but nothing that could hurt a Clancy book. A bombing in North/South Korea has Op-Center proving it's self to the president as they attempt to prevent World War III. Terrorism may be played out in the Clancy collection but I enjoyed the storyline and found the book entertaining to the end. I found the ending to be surprising and sufficient to the story itself.
Rating: Summary: Great Book To Read Review: This is one of the better books to read in this series. Great characters, good plot, very good flow throughout the story. I enjoyed reading it and if military mistery-suspense novels are something you'd read then youshould deinitely consider reading this novel.
Rating: Summary: Less good than expected Review: Well I think I would enjoy the book much more were I American. However I am pro American inclined, the book epitomises too much some American values. At some points it is simply unbearable.
Rating: Summary: Another great tom clancy book Review: He has dont it again, great book. I recomend it to all
Rating: Summary: Intrigue on each page Review: This was a great book, usually I get to about page 50, maybe 100 of a book. Well this book kept me captavated throughout the entire book! I didn't want to put the book down for anything. Because of this book I just got another Tom Clancy novel, Rainbow Six. If that book is half as good as this book has been, then I will definatly enjoy it. I recomend this book and I hope you enjoy the book as much as I did!
Rating: Summary: An Awesome Novel Review: I ennjoyed this book even more than the first of the series. It is about a conspiracy by a couple of Russian bigshots to restore the Soviet Union and all of its ideals. The master of this conspiracy, Nikolai Dogin, is the loser of the latest election and wants to implement his reactionary policies against the new administration. He has the support of the powerful Russian mafia and the Russian Military, along with the assuredness that America will not intervene militarily. There is one thing that he did not take into account: Op-Center. The Striker team plays a more prominent role in this book than in the last, and its characters are developed more fully. The political meltdown is compelling and realistic. I enjoyed this book, it was just as good as some of the Jack Ryan books, and I think any fan of Clancy will enjoy it too.
Rating: Summary: Shouldn't be made into a movie! Review: Tom Clancy has tried to show loopholes in the russian hierarchy, even the one that had existed in the pre-yeltsin era. He proves that in the intelligence community information must be shared and only like minded people should come together. The failure of the russian op-center is mainly due to backbiting, concealment of information and use of arm twisting techniques. The central idea of the book is the one that appeals the most. It shows that how there could be sane minded people on both sides of a war who understand what hate can bring to mankind. The characters of both the russian and the american protagonists have been handled fairly well except of course the young russian Nikita Orlov who did what any head of a team would have done in his position but the american perspective to this seems to be different.
Rating: Summary: Op-Center Is An Excellent Read Review: The book Op-Center is a fine story, an excellent yarn in the tradition of Tom Clancy. Paul Hood is the director of Op-Center, a new government organization that must respond to international crises. When someone sets off a bomb in Seoul, South Korea, it is assumed to be North Korean terrorists, but Hood discovers facts that point in another direction: A group of South Korean ultra-patriots that want to start World War III by expunging the American presence from their country and fire North Korean missiles at Japan, so as to create an alliance between them in fighting the North. The book starts slow but is difficult to put down once you hit the really interesting and action-packed parts: several storylines converge into each other, whether in the confines of Op-Center HQ, the streets of Seoul, or North Korea, this book delivers a plausible story and a dynamic plot. I would have rated this book 5 stars if it hadn't had the following flaws: first was the way the North and South worked together to start a war. I understand why they would do this: for power in the new country they created, but I found it difficult to determine how Op-Center knew so-and-so was working for so-and-so, and there were some other small plot holes, but overall, these are small problems that shouldn't ruin the experience. This is an excellent book: fans of Clancy will be pleased.
Rating: Summary: An Entertaining Book! Review: This book shows the problems that the new President of Russia encounters when he tries to turn Russia into a democracy. The President has to do battle with hardliners, the Russian Mafia and various other bad guys. The Op-Center crisis team,Striker has been sent in to help the new President restore order. They discover a Russian version of Striker. Op-Center faces a grave chakkenge trying to aid Russia. The book turns into one action sequence after the other. If there is one thing that this book has is action. Read this book. You will not be dissapointed.
