Summary: Chillingly Suspensful
Review: This was my first Kay Scarpetta novel, however I have now read others. The characters seem to jump off the page as you seem to take each step with them. Patricia Cornwell creates characters you actually care about and plot that envelopes you in the sheer terror of it. As to the other reviews that put this novel in poor light, I don't see them writing anything better, and maybe comic books are more their type, you know, with all those pictures and none of that complicated plot stuff and no need to use your imagination.

Rating: 2 stars
Summary: Dull and Lifeless
Review: This is the first Patricia Cornwell I've read and, assuming it is a typical Patricia Cornwell book, I don't plan to read any of the others. People who like a writer always say, "Oh, but you read the wrong book. You should try..." I don't believe writers vary that much. This book had an uninteresting plot, flat characters, and no suspense whatsoever. The conversations were flat on the page, the men had no personalities except Marino whose character was delineated by his poor grammar. Scarpetta is barely interesting, but even so, I never believed for a moment that she would love someone as impersonal as Mark. I kept reading because I am a sucker.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: In depth planning. Poor ending.
Review: If you want a good page turner, select "All that Remains." It's the third of the Kay Scarpetta series and is the best to date. Does it have a weak ending? Yes. But the characters and storyline are more in depth than in her previous stories. I'm sure I'll read the entire series. but I'm still skeptical about a medical examiner who uses the FBI to help solve her mysteries. But hey...it's fiction. Suspension of disbelief is the key. Enjoy.

Rating: 2 stars
Summary: Little suspense, lots of filler material.
Review: Not her most exciting book. Not very much suspense as in her other books. In the end you wonder what took her 382 pages to come to this conclusion. I recommend choosing one of her other books.

Summary: my kind of book
Review: I had to pick an author off a horribly boring list for my English report. My doctor knew that I wanted to become an FBI agent and recommended that I read Patricia Cornwell. I miraculously convinced my teacher to let me read "All That Remains." I'm glad I was introduced to her work. I love realistic page-turners.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: It is a very emotional, interesting and sophisticated story.
Review: Body's farm was the first book I read from Patricial's Dr. Scarpetta series...plots of these fictions are very interesting and cleverly planned.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Not one of my favourites but still good.......
Review: I've read every Cornwell and think that this was the weakest...but, still a great read!

Summary: CompellingBOO
Review: This was my first book about Medical Examiner, Kay Scarpetta. I've read each one following, but this one stuck in my mind the most. The way that Scarpetta puts everything together, while staying together herself, is very impressing. I mainly chose this book because Ms. Cornwell's books seem to take a dive. I've enjoyed each of her other books, but not as good as this one. Diving into the world of a Chief Medical Examiner was never something I expected to like, but I was really amazed at how consumed I became by this book, I could not put it down. Following in the footsteps of Scarpetta was an experience that one won't soon forget. I thought it was excellent, and I can't say a bad thing about it!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: An exciting take on a familiar case, completely engrossing.
Review: Living in Williamsburg where the Parkway Couple Murders are still unsolved, this was a great story of what might have happen. Her use of medical terminolgy is superb; this book was full of twist and turns that made it impossible to put down.

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: usually like Scarpetta... but not this one.
Review: Maybe I've "read" them out of order and this is one of her weaker Scarpetta novels...Or maybe I know too much about her personal life now. Also, gaps of logic in the audio book... maybe because of abridgement. The first one -- besides Hornet's Nest -- that I really really didn't like much.
