Summary: A child looking for love
Review: This book continues with young Dave Pelzer after being rescued from the horrible abuse at the hands of his mother, and follows him through his troubled teenage years. We see a young man trying to figure out where he fits in, looking for the love of a family as he is juggled about in the foster care system. It is amazing that he didn't fall into absolute despair or turn into a out-of-control teenager after the horror he had been through and then the unstable environment of foster care. Though he did hit some rough patches, with the love of a good foster family he prevailed. Dave Pelzer's continuing journey (this book is second in a trilogy) is an important book that shows us how terrible child abuse is, the problems in the insitution of foster care, and the human ability to bounce back and put negativity behind you. Dave Pelzer is an example of how successful any of us can be. I highly recommend this book.

Summary: It's GGGGGRRRRREEEAT
Review: Well this is the second of the trilogy and it is as wonderful as the first. Didn't really want to finish it because I didn't want to know the end. However, once I did finish, I loved it. Hopefully the third is just as good.

Summary: The Lost Boy Is A Good Book
Review: The Lost Boy was about a boy that gets thrown around foster homes his whole teenage life. He tries to find love but it's hard because he doesn't stay in many homes long enough for that. As a young boy he gets in trouble a lot only because he wants the attention he never got. He does things that get him into trouble. Later he's not as bad and ends up finding some foster parents that love him.
I liked the book a lot. It was good and I just wanted to keep reading it. The main themes of the book were survival and finding love. He was trying to survive his teen years and his foster homes. He was trying to find love because no one had ever loved him. The tone of the book was mostly the same at the first. He would get in trouble and no one would care. Then it changed to where he would get sent to juvenile hall if he got in trouble. So then the tone changed to him making friends and having fun. Overall it was a good book.

Review: This book is one of the best i have read. It is the third in a series Dave Pelzer has written, and it is the best of the three. It is a true story of the author, Dave Pelzer, and his life. His mother beat him and made him live in the garage. He was made to be her slave and do everything she commanded him to. He was also refered to as "It" and was not acknowledged as a part of "her" family. It is a story of the bravery of a young boy who is searching for a home with love.

Summary: A Child Called It
Review: From the beginning of A Child Called "It", by Dave Pelzer, I knew what my reaction to this book was. Throughout the entire book my opinion never changed, it remained an excellent book. There was always something happening that held your interest. This book is motivating, inspirational, and interesting all at the same time. Pelzer pulls your emotions in every direction as he talks about the abuse he was put through as a child. Not only is this book informative on the topic of child abuse, but it is also a tear-jerker.

Review: This is an amazing and sad story. It makes one appreciate social workers more and how important they are in creating a safe haven in our society. The young man's mother is an animal and deserves to be caged in a zoo. Read this story and you will be saddened.

Review: "A Child Called It" began the saga...Dave masters his skills in "The Lost Boy...". This story leads the reader through his adolescent life. The ups and downs of chaotic circumstances are detailed in a heartwrenchingly unbelievable drama. His ability to relay his experience with such passion...to step back and relive the episodes for his readers...strikes me with such awe. His honesty is brutal. His fear is tangible. His misguided childhood choices are on display for us all to scrutinize. His triumph is felt in the heart of the reader. Go get this one!!!

Summary: David, you're an inspiration!
Review: David: Your spirit was remarkable! Most people in your shoes would never be able to see beyond themselves. Yet, you had the guts as a young boy to use your own initiative again and again, such as when you made your choice to choose freedom from your monstrous "mother". Then again, when you had compassion on your brother Russell (overlooking how he'd ratted on you) and telling him "I can help you!"Had I been in your shoes, I wouldn't have forgiven your father for not protecting you, yet you forgave him. I wonder, though, whether many abusive people aren't at least partially possessed by evil spirits or demons? I can see no other explanation for their actions (nor for the actions of the Nazi's, the Pol Pot regime, and abuses such as female circumcision/abuse in Eastern countries. I wish you all the VERY best. You deserve it, for turning into the inspirational role model you are, in the face of such odds!

Review: I really liked this book beacuse, it tells the whole truth. It is not just a story that he decided to write up one day he put his whole life into the book. It gave alot of detail and it made me cry. Also it had alot of good parts in it. It made me relize how fortunate my life is in charich it everyday that i wake up.

Summary: The Lost Boy
Review: If anyone likes true stories then this is the book to read.
It was really amazing that this true . The Lost Boy by Dave Pelzer. This book is about a little boy Dave Pelzer who got beaten by his mother and now he is in foster care. He moves from home to home almost every month. When Dave moves to one home, he gets really used to the people and when he has to leave he cries. The best part of the book is when Dave is with the Catanze family because he is 17 years old and he is working and he gets along with everyone in the house. The Catanze family is teaching Dave how to survive in life. He is trying hard to do good when Dave did something wrong he would have to stay inside for a week. If Dave did something really wrong they would tell him he was going to the juvenile hall. When Dave goes to foster homes, it seems to him that when he is there for a couple of months the parents seem to fight. Dave thinks they fight it is because of him. If you really like true stories, then you should read A Child Called It, The Lost Boy, and A Man Named Dave. All three of these books are really good, I suggest everyone read them.
