Summary: I like this because it is about two boys on a quest.
Review: The reason I like The Grey King is because it is about a boy named Will and a boy named Bran. They are on a quest to stop the Grey King from taking over the world. Bran knows a lot about what is going to happen. Will doesn't know any thing until Bran tells him.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Definite 5 Stars!!!!!!!!
Review: I liked the book The Grey King because it is a mix of Fantasy and Suspense. The book also may not be for younger children because of some bad langauge. It is a Dark vs. Light type of story and is a book you will NOT want to put down! You sometimes may get confused because the characters speak English and a type of language called Welsh. The story also uses Great Britain spellings. I rate this book a definite 5 Stars!!!!!!!!

Summary: Best book I ever Read
Review: I think the book the "Grey King" is a great book of Action, Fantasy,Suspense, and even Mystical Powers. This book gives lots of details about the Characters and the Author. The Grey King is a North Wales Legend it is about a Golden Harp hidden in a certain hill. Two boys named Will and Bran will go against the Grey King's Evil powers. This book speaks two weird Languages: Welsh and Great Britain only in some parts of the book. They also speak English in the book.

Summary: This book was very exciting and educational.
Review: This book is about Will, Bran, Pen, and Cafall. Pen and Cafall are dogs. And I feel kids will like this book because it is about two boys and two dogs that have to save the world which takes a lot of teamwork. Also, I think grownups will like this book because it is full of science fiction. I read this book for my third grade book report.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: This was one of the few books that ever made me cry
Review: I love this book. I have read it over and over. The only books I have not read in THE DARK IS RISING sequence are THE DARK IS RISING and GREENWITCH. It was one of the few books that made me cry because Cafall died.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Adventerous. Intrest-holding.
Review: Susan Cooper has the inspiring way of writing that connects to young readers. She has the amazing talent of portraying the battles between good and evil. Tolkien had it. So did C.S. Lewis. But the Dark is Rising series is right up there with them.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: The best book I have ever read
Review: Will Stanton, struck down suddenly by a violent attack of hepatitis, is sent to Wales with family to recuperate. Once there, he is startled to find and albino boy and his white dog with the silver eyes. Will realises that this is the last raising of defences that the Light must succeed in to defeat the Dark in the ultimate quest. But, once the harp is taken, the rest of the quest must take place in the valley of the Brenin Llwyd, the home of the Grey King, and he is the most powerful individual member of the Dark . . .

This book was very probably the best in the series. A new character, Bran, the albino boy, is introduced, and this is not just a fantasy story but also a heart-rending tale of tragedy. It tells how the Dark can destroy love, and how betrayal can sometimes lead to something good, and ultimately teaches us all how to truly love.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Incredible book!
Review: This book was the best one of the series. The entire series is one of my favorites, and I only wish there were more of them. The only thing that bothers me is that this series is classified as young adult, when it's a great read for people of all ages.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Average for Cooper - Excellent for most authors
Review: What is average for Cooper is better than the best of many (maybe most) of the fantasy or "young adult" authors out there. The main change in this book is the added focus on normal folks, something lacking in the prior two books, which tended to focus on the supernatural. Also, the character of Bran, key in the last 2 books, is introduced. I didn't care much for him as a child reading the series but now seem him as an integral link to myth. Miximg myth, the modern world and her own imagination is what Cooper does best, and this book is a wonderful example of that.
