Summary: Pretty Good, Lacks Usual Flow
Review: This book details Ramona's fourth grade year. There is much excitement in her life including a new baby sister, a new best friend, dealing with spelling woes, the liking of a fellow classmate, and the realization that perfection comes at certain costs. Being a Ramona fan, I can lovingly say that I'm glad she is starting to grow out of certain things. In one instance she actually thinks to herself that a particular incident isn't worthy of throwing a temper tantrum. This certainly shows that Ramona is maturing. Ramona meets catastrophe at her new best friend's house which is dealt with in a very nonchalant manner. Cleary makes some excellent points throughout the book on the validity of spelling and being able to write clearly, though Ramona oftentimes has difficulty with this. Ramona's cat sitting turns into a lesson that rings true for many first time responsibility craving youngsters. The culmination of this story brings you to Ramona's tenth birthday party where she realizes that maybe being perfect has its problems just as being imperfect has its flaws. This book was a good read even though it lacked the natural flow of a usual Cleary book.

Summary: Another Delightful Excursion Into Childhood!
Review: Cleary does a wonderful job of portraying 9 year-old Ramona's character by showing, for example, how excited Ramona was to start 4th grade. Ramona was at the bus stop early, and the author says something like: "Ramona was always early. Something might happen that she wouldn't want to miss." What a great summary of the character's exuberant personality!

Childhood comes flooding back reading Ms. Cleary. I forgot how something like a baby sister is such a huge event, you can't wait to tell EVERYONE - the whole WORLD must know this! I forgot how you have a sort of crush on someone and you don't want anyone to know - not even your best friend. I forgot how kids jump to the craziest conclusions! After Ramona has an accident involving her best friends attic ceiling (well, she darn near falls through it!) she cries and cries. Not so much because the scratches and bumps hurt, but because now she can't come play with Daisy any more and she no longer has a best friend! Poor Ramona automatically assumed her friend's mom would no longer want her around. But you can certainly see a child thinking like this.

I still have a lot of Cleary to discover, and I plan to keep reading!

Summary: Ramona's back!
Review: I was delighted to find that Beverly Cleary had decided to write another Ramona book.

I am pleased to say the result, in spite of the time gap between publication of "Ramona Forever" and "Ramona's World" was up to the standard of the rest of the series.

The characteristic warm humour, interesting characters and engaging plot continue to shine.

Some of the other titles in the series linger longer in the memory than this latest instalment, but "Ramona's World" is certainly worth the purchase for those who have enjoyed the rest of the series about this irrepressible school girl.

Summary: Ramona's World
Review: Ramona's World
At the beginning of the story,Ramona Quimby is nine years old. She has brown hair, brown eyes. She has a mother, a father, a big sister named Beatrice who was called Beezus by the family, and this was the exciting part a baby sister named Roberta after her father, Robert Quimby. Ramona couldn't wait for the first day of school so she could spread the news about her baby sister. That day finally came. It was a warm September day and Ramona neat, and clean half hopped, scrunching through dry leaves on the side walk. In the middle of the story, Ramona's birthday is coming and she's going to be 10 years old. Ramona want's to be responsible since she's growing up. Her friend Daisy was going on a vacation and her mom wanted Ramona to watch their cat, so that was a start to be responsible also when her mom went to go pick up her sister Beezus from her friends house, Ramona had to baby-sit her baby sister while her mom was gone so that's also responsible. Ramona's birthday came and she was now 10 years old she envited all her friends plus of course she invited her best friend Daisy. A girl named Susan a girl she hated, her mom made her bring her to her birthday party, but all her friends did was play with her baby sister. The reason I think you should read this book is because it's a real nice book and tells you how it is to be a 10 year old girl with a brother or sister, just like me.

Summary: I loved it
Review: I own all the Ramona books, and have read them ever since I was a little girl. I was so delighted when I found this last book of Ramona, although she seems a little different than before, she is more mature in some ways, and she has a new best friend, which is a nice change after seeing so much of Howie. This last book makes you wanting more of Ramona, and I truly hope Ramona will surprise me just one more time. This is a great, fun-loving book.

Summary: And here she is again!
Review: Here I am, almost 30, and reading Ramona again as if she never went away. It was a surprise to see this book on the shelves since I had assumed that Beverly Cleary was retired, and through with Ramona and friends. I was glad to have my assumption proven wrong. The usual cast of characters is back, with new additions as well. Some may not like the fact that Howie has pretty much vanished, but it's very realistic of Cleary to have Howie and Ramona grow apart as they get older. It was also fun to see Susan return to get on Ramona's nerves. Ramona is older now, she's a big sister, so she is no longer the little girl who craved attention and dropped out of kindergarten, but it's nice to see her still having trouble, even though her intentions are good. Once again, Cleary captures childhood very well. Children's literature, and children, have come a long way from the days of Henry Huggins and the children's exclamations of "gee whilikers", but Cleary does show that underneath any of the "corruption" that is purported to be corruptin the youth of the world, children are still children. True, it's hard to believe that Beezus would have worn such an awful outfit to a first boy/girl party (and at the age of 14 no less... her first one...Beezus is 51 years old now, you'd have thought she'd been to one before now!) That aside, this book is well worth the read, and if Cleary ever writes another, I'll be in line waiting for it.

Summary: Romona's world
Review: I like the excert that I read. I think it sounds interesting and how some of us like school and are excited about school. I think alot of people should read this book and try to get caluses on the bottom of their hands. I enjoyed the book and I sometimes am excited to start school and sometimes i am scared so I think teachers and people should comfort the student or kid and stand up for them. -Stephanie Broderson

Summary: Ramona, where have you been?
Review: Those of us who love Ramona can not get enough of her. In this book, Ramona gets into some very funny predicaments (as usual) and, being in fourth grade now, is a bit more grown up (she's moved on from her days as a naughty hair-pulling kindergardener). My favorite moment in the book involves Ramona's baby sister getting stuck inside a piece of cat furniture while Ramona is baby-sitting. Ramona's coolness under pressure and her ability to reason out creative solutions to life's many problems make this book laugh-out-loud funny and unforgettable. All in all a great addition to the Ramona series.
