Rating: Summary: Ludlum is the Master of suspense Review: After having read the Bourne Identity, The Bourne Ultimatum and The Matarese Circle, which were all good novels, when i got hold of Gemini Contenders, i thought,"Can he manage to come u with a new plot in this one?" Ludlum proved me wrong again. The plot is unbelievably different, the story narrated as if it was true. This is one book which, if you start reading it, you will no be able to put it down. Ludlum has done it again!!

Rating: Summary: Almost did not finish reading it Review: And to think that I almost did not finish reading it. At the middle of the book it got very slow moving, and I actually started reading another, if it wasn't for the great reviews it got from the readers, I would have never come back to it. Read it, it's just a great book.
Rating: Summary: Great potential that wasn't realized Review: As a avid Ludlum fan, I was very disappointed by this book. The plot had so much potential and the backdrop was very well researched. Unfortunately, Gemini's characters are weak as Ludlum never develops them. Secondary characters are introduced and killed off without the reader ever becoming entranced by their roles. The novel jumps thirty years before I was satisfied with the first part and then concludes in such a way that was a disappointment. In addition, Ludlum never made me feel excited or nervous about what was in the vault and the potential devastation it could bring if found and exposed. He sort of through it in the readers face and moved on. There are much better Ludlum novels to read than this one.
Rating: Summary: Just ok read Review: Compared to Forsyth and Follett this a meager offering. The story seems to drag, at times I was wondering if the author was just padding the book. The plot is promising but the writing doesn't have the finesse to make it a real page turner.
Rating: Summary: Three generations of action Review: I found myself looking for a good book. Just getting back into reading after quite the hiatus, I wasn't sure where to look. I don't like reading books based on movies. However, having enjoyed the Bourne movies, I thought a book by Robert Ludlum would be good. For once, I can say I was right!
This story follows three generations of the Fontini-Cristi family along a quest. This quest is to protect something. What that "something" is, they know not. I found that very intriguing. There is courage, deception, love, action, surprises... all of those things that make for a very entertaining book. A fan of high adventure and deception is a fan of Ludlum.
Upon finishing this book, I wanted another Ludlum novel. You will too! However, knowing that some writers follow "patterns" in their books, I chose instead, John LeCarre's 'The Spy Who Came in From the Cold.' Check it out.
Rating: Summary: unputdownable.... Review: I made the mistake of starting this book in my exams...but no regrets .I think it is one of the best of ludlums books and I would strongly suggest that u should read it.
Rating: Summary: How did I miss this? Review: I thought I had read everything Ludlum had ever written, but came across this in a backpacker hostel. What a find! This book made me remember what it was I loved about Ludlum's writing, and reminded me that his older writings are better than all this stuff they're finding now that he's gone. Vittorio Fontini-Cristi is the eldest son of a wealthy Italian industrialist. His father's involvement in the hiding of a vault containing powerful religious documents leads to Vittorio's becoming enmeshed in events he doesn't fully understand. With World War II as a backdrop, he is hunted by many who want the vault's contents and protected by some who believe he will lead them to the vault as his life is transformed. He is never to escape this legacy, and before he dies, must pass it on to his twin sons--the Geminis who have both become involved in wars of their own. One son is career army with a Vietnam background, the other a peace loving war protester. They must cast aside their mutual dislike to once and for all solve the mystery that has always been part of their heritage. The book leads you through twists and turns, and the plot is classic Ludlum. He doesn't keep the story moving with useless dialogue and the characters are believable. The power contained within the hidden vault motivates many to devote their lives to it's discovery. You've got to wonder what it could possibly contain to drive people this way. This book is Ludlum at his best, and I highly recommend it to anyone who loves a good thriller.
