Summary: Excellent Finish
Review: This is an interesting book, it will take you a while to read it because is not an easy book, but it will keep you reading, the way it explains the basic things of what is a Black Hole in space and other scientific things is as easy as it can be.
Of course this is a Sci Fi book, but the way it ends maybe will make you think that could be real, why not? At first they think that the sphere is from outer space, but when they explain that if Leonardo Da Vinci would see a TV he would think of magic, he would never know how it works, that make you thing.
This is one book that will make think things that you think you were sure of them.

Summary: Makes You Wonder
Review: This was my first Michael Crichton novel and I am impressed. I have seen the movies which most probably fall short of his vision for the page. I remember watching Sphere and remember thinking that it was ok but the book was great. It was hard to put it down. He has an ability to keep you guessing, complex stories that are interesting and educational. What I like most of all was amount of academic information he gives to the reader about explaining what is happening. Some writers will apply certain ideas to develop their stories but lack the amount of knowledge to make it believable. Michael Crichton has both the knowledge and ability to put it into a story and not turn a novel into a textbook. He does lack some development of character which is made up in the story. Now I know why most of all his books have become major motion pictures. I am now reading Timeline and have a hard time putting it down.

Summary: My Favorite book and writer!!!! The movie ...
Review: This is my favorite book. This book was the first book of Michel Crichton I ever read and ever since his books have been he best. Like all his books you read a great adventure, while having it backed up by true facts. Therefor making it a realistic story, making it the more thrilling and scary. Read it even if you dont like Sci-fi. I didn't and i still dont, i ony like his. There is knowone better. No book better. Oh yeah, I have read it 3 times and working on my forth.

Summary: Sci-Fi can be cool! ( this book proves it)
Review: This is my fav book EVER! It is about 4 scientists who go investigate an alien space ship. Some VERY important things go wrong but Im not the kind to give away endings or, if you put it that was beginnings or mids either. OK so my point is this:
READ THIS BOOK
ps
I am not a walking advertizement for the book i just like it ok

Summary: Best book I have every read!
Review: This book is magnificint, a real page turner. I was too young when I watched the movie to remember much of it. However, I can't imagine how it could even begin to compare with the book. A big salute to Michael Crichton. I am definitly excited about reading more of his books.

* A note to other readers and movie goers: It is NOT a big coninsidence that his excellent books become classic movies.

Summary: Read the book, Avoid the movie
Review: This is one fantastic read. The pages fly by and before you know it the day is over and so is the book. Sphere owes more than a little to 2001: a space odyssey and even a bit to Jules Verne but its all Crichton. In Sphere Crichton weaves a mammoth tale on the power of the human mind its just unfortunate such a horrible movie was made from the novel. Of all Crichton's stuff, Sphere is still my favorite.

Summary: BEST BOOK I HAVE EVER READ
Review: You won't be able to put down this book. Keeps you reading and guessing until the very end.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Attention grabber
Review: This book will grab ones attention from the beginning and is very difficult to put down. The only thing keeping this book from being a five star book is that it somewhat lacks in character development. The storyline is excellent as each page makes one wonder what will happen next. Overall a very good and fun book to read.

Summary: "Sphere" goes in circles
Review: I read this book right after reading Jurassic Park, and I could hardly believe that they were written by the same person. It's obvious that Crichton had no idea where he wanted to take the reader, because the story is meandering and pointless. Just throw enough twists and turns into a story and nobody will care that they end up where they started, I guess. The mysterious Jerry turns out to be -----. If that's true, then why did ----- use such a ridiculous code to communicate? and why did ----- allow the code to be broken? This is the kind of inconsistency that made me wonder if Crichton had the slighest what he would do with Jerry, or anyone else, when he started writing. Crichton fans will also (I hope) be disappointed by a lack of the contemporary scientific relevance that is so typical of Crichton's work. Those who make it to the end of Sphere are insulted with the ultimate cliche, a dream sequence ending. You're probably going to want to read the book anyway based on all the other reviews, but don't say you weren't warned.

Summary: My favorite book by Michael Crichton
Review: This book, which is much better than the movie by the way, is probably my favorite book. It takes place on the ocean floor a thousand feet down.

The navy has discovered a spacecraft at the bottom of the sea, and sends a team to explore it. The main character, Norman, is a psychologist asked to join them to evaluate their behavior under the high stress environment. The team quickly discover that the spacecraft is of American origin, but from the future. They also discover that while it was in space, it picked up something and brought it home.

The book is filled with excellent descriptions of undersea life and the hardware that is used to be able to explore the vast depths of the worlds oceans. I recommend this book highly.
