Summary: I miss Rogue Squadron
Review: This book was alright but Wraith Squadron can't compare with Rogue Squadron. A few of the characters were ok like Face and Grinder, but they just don't compare to Gavin,Corran and Mirax. Please come back Rogues!!!!!!!

Review: It's The Dirty Dozen meets Star Wars. The characters are fresh and engaging. They have flaws and drawbacks that make them seem more real and easier to relate to. The humor in the book is also perfectly timed and helps keep the story flowing. Yub, yub, I say!

Summary: Step aside, Stackpole, there's a new Squadron on the Block!
Review: Well, what can i say! The Wraiths rock! Sure, i was a little disappointed when i first picked this book up for two reasons. 1) It wasn't by Stackpole, and 2) It wasn't about the Rougues I had learned to love through the first book. But as i read on, boy was i glad i had bought it. First of all the transition between the two sets of characters is VERY smooth. It's not just about the Wraiths from the beginning. But beleive me, the Wraiths are every bit as cool as the Rougues. One major difference that you will definitly notice is the addition of much-needed humor to this series (or to any Star Wars book.) Unlike Stackpole, Alliston can make you roll onto the floor laughing at times. In humor, i would definitly rate this book two yubs up :) In contrast, Alliston can also make you cry at times. An example would be the extremely emotional moments when characters die, ones that you got to know, unlike Stackpole's "kill off all the characters i didn't even bother to write about" tactic, like when Riv Shiel died, i found myself asking the question "who was Riv Shiel again?" Well, not happening in this book. Every character has a unique personality and Alliston gives the reader the sense of closeness to the characters in only one novel that took Stackpole four full length novels to achieve. Well, back on the topic of character deaths, when Alliston's characters die, they stay dead, unlike a certain Corran Horn and Mirax Terrik that could "never seem to stay dead" from the past set of books. And the deaths of characters aren't the only thing that will make you cry in this book. Talon Squadron is a major part of this book, and when you find out about Shiner, Donos' "Last Talon" you will be reaching for a tissue in no time. All in all, this book definitly heads the series in a new, yet refreshing direction. I hope if Stackpole re-claims the X-Wing throne, he will learn something from Alliston's exceptional work.

Review: This book was very well done. I liked the way the author made the characters sound like they were real and liked to joke around. The Bothan (Grinder) and the Mon Calamari (Jesmin Ackbar) shouldn't have died.

Summary: One of the best Star Wars books I've read
Review: Wraith Squadron is definitely one of the greatest Star Wars books I've had the pleasure to read. I think that this book does for Star Wars what Ghostbusters did for the Horror genre. In other words, it is kind of a parody, but it still falls under the classification of Star Wars. One of the things I like about this book is that I can really identify with some of the characters. And I know people that are just like other characters. I know that Kell Tainer is supposed to be the "hero" of the book, but my favorite character is Face. Oh, and to the reviewer who said there is "too much" humor in this book, let me just say that there is no such thing as "too much" humor.

Summary: Wraith Squadron is great!
Review: Now I know we all love Rogue Squadron very much, but believe me, Wraith Squadron is a bunch a cool people too. The book itself has an interesting plot and is very exciting. Aaron Allston did a real good job continuing Michael Stackpole's creation and writes with great detail. All fans of the X-Wing series have got to read this book and all of the others in the series.

Summary: Allston's X-Wing books are the best i've read of the series.
Review: the low ratings by the other readers are certainly undeserving. Allston managed to make the transition from Stackpole's Book 4 quite smoothly in Book 5 and with unexpected and surprising humor. the characters of wraith squadron, i feel, compliments those of rogue squadron and builds on the leadership qualities of Wedge Antilles. i loved all three x-wing books (5 through 7) by Allston and look forward to more x-wing books written by him.

Review: I liked the book, In fact it was the first one I read, and and the one that got me looking for the rest of the series. After I read Stackpoles work, though, I liked the way i could personlize with the charchaters. But all in all I give all the books five stars

Summary: Good, but not X-Wing
Review: It is a good book, that's first to say. But it isnt X-Wing, because X-Wing means Rogue Squadron, and the Wraiths arent the Rogues. And I'm not very happy with the idea, that Wedge leaves the Rogues. Rogue Squadron is his life, why should he go away. Still, I enjoyed to read the book.

Summary: Interesting plot - a bit too much humor
Review: This fifth installment of the X-Wing series is an interesting mix into the timeline between Truce at Bakura and Courtship of Princess Leia. I loved the idea of a strike commando unit who can also fly starfighters - Kell Tainer is a good main character (but why do they always have to be blonde hair and blue eyes, and why must they always get the girl) it would be far more interesting to have developed the relationship between Kell and Tyria than have her jump on him after one emotional confession - Stupid! The humor was too much for me sometimes. The practical jokes were good, but some of the comment were just plain corny. Star Wars was not a comedy - sure it had elements of humor in it, but that wasn't what made it into a classic. I hope Allston will keep closer to the plotline in Iron Fist. Overall, an above average book with good fill-in info. Corran Horn still beats out Tainer IMHO.
