Summary: Delightful
Review: After reading The Best Christmas Pageant Ever, I found myself yearning for more information regarding the antics of the Herdmans. I daresay, this sequel satisfied that need. The Herdmans are so nasty, that to read about their horrible deeds is a hilarious delight. My own children howled with laughter as the antics of the Herdmans during the schoolyear were detailed by the author. Children identify with this clan of kids who dare to do the things that they could only imagine. It is a wonderful book to share with the entire family, as was the first book.

Summary: Disappointing sequel
Review: Barbara RobinsonÕs The Best Christmas Pageant Ever is one of my top ten favorite childrenÕs novels of all time. ItÕs one of the funniest and at the same time most moving books ever written.

Unfortunately, the magic that was in the first book just doesnÕt carry over to this sequel. The same characters are here. The Herdmans are still the kind of uncivilized kids that make parents and teachers (and even less rowdy kids) squirm. Beth, the narrator, is still the kind of sweet, observant girl who fits in with others but is open enough to find the good in those who donÕt fit in. But it just doesnÕt come together here. The HerdmansÕ antics arenÕt as funny as they were in the first book (a few, in fact, are simply recycled from the first book). And if youÕve read The Best Christmas Pageant Ever, where Beth comes to see the good in the seemingly irredeemable Imogene Herdman, it seems odd that in the new book sheÕs back to viewing Imogene as a monster. What happened to the insight she gained at the end of the last book?

The book has a few funny moments. ItÕs not dreadful. But after The Best Christmas Pageant Ever, it is certainly a disappointment.

Summary: The Funniest Book I've Ever Read!
Review: Beth said it was her best school year ever, but it was her worst school year ever. She was good, but the Herdman's kids were bad.The Herdman's were a family with 6 kids, and they were always getting into trouble. This was the funniest book I ever read. In one part, the Herdman's stole a baby named Howard and put marker on his head. But my favorite part was when Eugene,a little first grader, was smashing walnuts on his head because Gladys made him do it for the school talent show. I think you should read this book. It is the best book I have ever read.

Summary: Oh No the Herdmans are Back.... Again!!
Review: I give this book 5 stars because it is so realistic and fictitious at the same time. The Herdmans are more than the average bullies. They are the town bullies. I like Gladys the best all though Imogene is the nicest. Don't get me wrong, she's still really mean! This is a great book. If you like action and lots of laughs read The Best School Year Ever.... You'll love it!
