Rating: Summary: Learn how to use your mind to solve your problems Review: This book teaches you how to use your mind to create whatever you desire in your life. It contains numerous affirmations and prayers that will help you to overcome just about any obstacle you may encounter - whether you have problems with health, finances or would like to access your inner wisdom / divine guidance. Just repeating the affirmations and prayers automatically may not work well, but if you put your heart into them (and yes, you can alter them slightly and use the words that "click" for you, better), you are bound to experience wonderful transformations in your life. There are times when you will experience even instant results - if you were in the midst of adversity and choose to deliberately focus your mind upon the idea that "something good will come out of (even) that situation", you may be surprised to discover how things can turn around. As you use this book, you will most certainly discover rather promptly how your thoughts, words and expectations shape your daily experiences.
Rating: Summary: We must test all ideas ... Review: This incredible classic is the textbook of the Religious Science philosophy, originally published in 1926, read by students world-wide. The Science of Mind Movement of today was founded in 1927. Ernest Holmes described Religious Science as "a correlation of laws of science, opinions of philosophy, and revelations of religion, applied to human needs and the aspirations of man." Remember his important advice (453): "We must test all ideas to whether they are of the Truth. It is a mistake to accept every man's philosophy simply because it sounds plausible. We are to be on guard against accepting that which is not true. And let us remember this: the Truth is simple, direct and always self-evident."
Rating: Summary: Life-altering Review: This is a book must be read slowly, as it requires frequent pauses to digest what you've just read. It is well worth it. When you are done, your life will never be the same. It teaches that God, or Spirit, is everywhere equally present and just waiting for us to use our free-will to create Joy, Peace and Happiness in our lives. The first four chapters sum it up--The Thing Itself, What It Is, How It Works and How To Use It. It's a life-altering journey!

Rating: Summary: The "roots" of all new age thinking in the 90's! Review: This is the "source" of most of the affirmation and visualization work out there. A perfect partner to the Conversation with God I, II & III books. A real HOW-TO to create what you want in your life!
Rating: Summary: An Absolute MUST read for people interested in spirituality Review: This seminal work has created a whole spiritual movement - Religious Science which numbers more than 100,000 people worldwide. More than any other book on metaphysics, it clearly explicates the universal laws that govern this universe and that can be understood by the human mind.Science of Mind is based upon the great spiritual ideas from both east and west. There is no dogma here. Rather it is a work about the power of the human mind to heal, to create, and make a better life for oneself. This is metaphysics at its absolute best. Please remember that SCIENCE OF MIND is a textbook, not just a easy reading prose. It requires discussion and review for it to illuminate the mind and heart. Enjoy one of the finest books ever to be written about metaphysics and new thought. A gem.
Rating: Summary: Heavy reading, but well worth it. Review: This work, for all of its outdated gender-discriminatory (is that a word?) pronouns and obtuse Emerson-esque sentence structure, is quite simply an American spiritual classic. It speaks with the voice of the beginning of the American New Thought movement, and reflects the growth and change the movement underwent in the mid 20th century. In my opinion, the information it contains has been made more accessible to modern audiences by contemporary authors like Louise Hay, but reading Holmes' original work is like reading a real work of literature instead of settling for the Cliffs Notes. It CAN be difficult to read, but it's worth it if you're interested in the content. The information contained is first-rate, and is the Source for much of the popular "New Age" movement we've all seen today. All in all, well worth it.
