Rating: Summary: CHEATERS....CHEATERS....CHEATERS Review: I loved this book. This book had trust, distrust, loyalty, commitment, and everything else in a relationship. This book expressions that not only men cheat, but women too. It's a great example of how life and relationship is in a real world. In CHEATERS Eric Jerome Dickey paints a sassy, sexy portiat of men, women, and modern morals__in a high-spirited roller-coaster ride of a novel about the risks and rewards of falling in love. Rating: Summary: 4 Out Of 5 Stars Review: I picked up this book as soon as I had put down Milk in My Coffee. I read Between Lovers awhile back. I love the book because it gives you a little insight on the way men think. It also gives you insight on why sometimes women change. My favorite character was Chante, mostly because I was feeling the way she looked at life. My less favorite character was Karen. An issue that Dickey brought up was one that I don't often read about. He brought the issue up through Darnell. People who I talked to felt that Darnell was wrong for doing what he did, but I felt him. People change. The book doesn't get a perfect five because like the others I have read by him, he gives too much details for me.
Rating: Summary: I'd read it again! Review: I think this is one of my favorite EJD books. It had a lot goin on but everything made sense.
Rating: Summary: I Feel Cheated...Wish I Could Give It No Stars Review: I trudged my way through Eric Jerome Dickey's Cheaters, and was terribly disappointed with the characters, the plot and the author. This was my first time reading anything by Mr. Dickey, and it will probably be my last. The poorly-developed characters are caught up in a world of lust and lies, so much so that I began to wonder if they had lives outside of the bedroom. The author cheated his readers and his characters out of a decent plot; this book clearly lacked any substance. While I found Mr. Dickey's writing style to be rather pleasant, the incessant sexcapades of Stephan, Chante, and the crew made this novel completely unreadable. Perhaps with some major revisions, this could be made into a pretty interesting movie. However, in the meantime, Cheaters isn't worth the paper it was printed on. If you're looking for a cheap, lusty thrill, then by all means, Cheaters is your book. I'm hoping that Mr. Dickey's other novels are much more rewarding than this one.
Rating: Summary: DEFINETLY ONE OF HIS BEST.....So realistic its scary! Review: I'll keep it short and sweet. This is one of Mr. Dickey's best works. I've read them all to date except Liar's Game and this is one of my favorites from his collection. I say this because the characters in this book are very realistic. While reading it, you'll feel like you can change a few names here and there and afterwards, find yourself reading a book about people you know. Every now and then I would find myself nodding and saying "Mmmh, Hmmm" while reading a passage. The overall jest of the book is about a man whose a dog and has been for some years because that's all he knew how to be as learned by example (i.e. his father) AND a woman who has been dogged so much that she finds herself frustrated and too through with men. The two of them manage to cross paths and soon find themselves dating. Throughout this journey, both of them learn a great deal about themselves and what they want out of each other (A relationship, true and faithful). The book is soaked with twists and turns that keep you wondering what's going to happen next. Within the main plot are a few subplots that deal with the friends of the primary male character (Stephan) and female character (Chante). Mr. Dickey does a superb job at incorporating these stories within the main one. My only criticism of the book is that the ending was a bit disappointing. I felt like I was taken to the highest peak of a roller coaster and then just left there to find my own way back down. Ugh!!! Despite this drawback, it is minor, and the bulk of the story (98.5%) is entertaining and doesn't stop abruptly or leave you hanging. So, if you're a true Eric Jerome Dickey fan, go out and pick up this book. You won't be disappointed. And for those of you who are new to his works, this would be a good one to try out. Then, when you're finished, I highly suggest reading Friends & Lovers and Sisters. They were a delight as well.
Rating: Summary: Easily Dickey's best book! IMO Review: I've read five novels by EJD. I started with Friends & Lovers which was really good. But this one is his best effort. Mainly because of the way each character is drawn out to look at each of their lives and make a choice to change. Parts of the book to me were touching(and it didn't even involve the main two characters). That's also a great thing about the book. The fact that his side characters have stories of their own. Friends and Lovers did that too, but not on the scale in this book. And in the conclusion, the book does flip on you, but if you know the value of never letting your dreams go, it will all make sense.
Rating: Summary: Five stars well deserved Review: It's hard for any writer to get 5 stars out of me. Eric Jerome Dickey has a rare talent for true literary entertainment. Looking at his picture on the cover, I find it hard to imagine that this young fellow is bestowed with so much wisdom into how we run our lives. I recommend you find out by reading this book. How is your love-life, lately? gerborguta
Rating: Summary: CHEATER CHEATER Review: loved this book. This book had trust, distrust, loyalty, commitment, and everything else in a relationship. Stephan played a great character. He was raised in a home with no father until his step-father. His father was a cheater so he later had some of those "cheater" qualities. Toyomi played a great character. She was like a "ghetto queen". When it came to back stabbing and getting revenge she was your girl. I don't believe in adultery , but I loved the way Darnell cheated on his wife. His wife treated him [badly] and he just kinda got sucked into the "game". The way he left her at the end of the book was great. He said I leaving, and don't try to contact me.
Rating: Summary: Magnificant Book Review: So far of all the EJD books I have read, Cheaters is the best. From the beggining to the end, this book had me really into it. For all the people who would like to read this book, go ahead. You will be amazed by all the ups and downs these characters have, and the shockers.
Rating: Summary: Stephan & Chante Review: Stephan is a playa, and he's considered to be just like his father. Chante is a woman who's just sick &tired of being cheated on. Every relationship she had she's gotten heartbroken. When she meets Stephan, and they began seeing each other...of COURSE she put her guard down.Does Stephan breaks her heart or the other way around? U will have to read this.
