Rating: Summary: You'll laugh, you'll cry. Review: Jesus once said, ask and you shall receive. Knock and the door will be opened for you. Socrates said, the body may wither but the soul endures forever. The answers to life lie around us, if only we avail ourselves the opportunity to look for them. Each of us has their own unique path in life. This book is but a humble candle to guide you on your way.
Rating: Summary: WOW! COOL!! Review: I read this book in one sitting. Yeah, I lit a big fattie, which might have made it seem better than it was. I can't tell! I'll have to wait till I die to find out! Jah Love!

Rating: Summary: Same information, different package Review: This book was a major disappointment. Very light in new material. Rather, I found it a mere repackaging of his previous work. Incredibly basic and shallow. Maybe my problem with this book is my uncertainty about reincarnation. The author's "I know what I am talking about" attitude on this subject is a bit much. I find most of his thoughts to be speculative and without much substance. Stick with his first book.
Rating: Summary: Reaching To Heaven is anything but. Review: Cavaet Emptor! - buyer beware -. The Bible (God's Word for those who have forgotten) warns us about channeling or contacting spirits. The spirit you contact will invariably be a deceiver and this contact will do much more harm than good. Do we really need this in a world already filled with confusion and deception? It is our choice to choose heaven or hell, but do the facts have to be twisted? This book is more a sad commentary on the direction many are choosing than a useful "guide" of any kind.
Rating: Summary: Thank you, James, for sharing your gifts with the world! Review: My mom and I have been fans of James Van Praagh since first seeing him on Larry King Live a couple of years ago, and we loved his first book. About a year and a half ago, my mother's mother and brother both died suddenly - we have both been searching for solace every since. Last night (2/26/99) James Van Praagh made another appearance on Larry King Live - and my mother called in and made it on the air with him! How amazing - we have NO DOUBT that he was really able to bring us a glimpse of the spiritual world. The messages he sent to my mother were accurate and remarkable. I am certain that my grandmother and uncle continue to live on and are watching out for us. It was one of the most stunning events of my life. Many of us have faith, but what a gift to be able to have James bring such compelling evidence that our loved ones live on, are around us, and are watching us. What more important question is there for any of us... What happens after we die? James has given us peace of mind that we will all be together again and that the love we send to our deceased loved ones is received. I just ordered James' second book - can't wait to read it. I hope this message gives hope to someone - I am a witness to these events.
Rating: Summary: Wonderful book and very timely. Review: Van Praagh has scored another Bull's Eye! At last we have a directly relevant book about Spirit related to our daily lives. Not since R. Patton gave us "THE Autobiography" have I read such a lucid route-map towards conscious Spirituality. Patton and Van Praagh owe nothing to Religion and everything to Spirit. I hope they have more works in the pipeline! Truly inspiring!
Rating: Summary: Never read anything like it Review: I've read a lot of "new age" books, but this is the first one that goes into detail about the death and rebirth process. The chapters on life in the spiritual realms was fascinating - it seems to make so much sense. It's like I've known all this before but forgotten it. And as on his TV appearances, James is very down to earth (no pun intended) in his writing style. I liked this better than Talking to Heaven, and that's saying a lot.
Rating: Summary: Excellent for those ready to accept this. Review: Mr. Van Praagh has done an excellent job of sharing his understanding with the world. The book is well written and, in my opinion, superior to "Talking to Heaven." It was a joy to read spiritual truths hidden in many other traditions, presented in such a lucid and beautiful way. This could only come from a teacher with experience. Reaching to Heaven is a generous sharing of an enlightened soul. It is a given that the reader understand and accept the principles of reincarnation. Without an openness to those principles, the message will be unintelligible. May Mr. Van Praagh continue to do good works and resist the temptations the world is certain to place in his path.
Rating: Summary: Helper Review: After my aunt passed away, a friend recommended this book to me. This book was almost a guide book of what could be expected. Since losing my mother and all grandparents, I can honestly say that I have received a little peace.
