Summary: This book is fascinating and really drew me into the plot.
Review: I loved this book! The plot was awsome, the setting was challenging to figure out, but well described, and the characters were great. This is by far the best book I have ever read. The ending actually made me cry (which I don't do much of). I applaud Garth Nix for having such a wonderful imagination to think up this envigorating story.

Summary: THIS BOOK IS THE BOMB FOR PEOPLE WHO LIKE FANTASY!!!!!!
Review: I really loved this book. It was soo kool. Im 14 and my friends and I really love fantasy.A friend of my Moms gave it to me and i adored it. Its about this 18 year old girl who has a very interesting familiy history. She is next in line to become an Abhorsen. It tells a story of her journey to find her father and her struggles and triumphs along the way. Its filled with lots of little hints that keep you guessing. I really reccommend this book for everyone who like a good story and a fantasy twist.

Summary: MARVELOUS!!!
Review: Sabriel is the daughter of Abhorsen...born in the Old Kingdom, raised in a normal world. A first in magic makes her think she's prepared to voyage into the Old Kingdom in search of her father, who is trapped in death. She is soon proved wrong. But after many scrapes, true love, and other amusing events, Sabriel manages quite well, in the end. Masterfully told by Garth Nix, one of the best books I have ever read. BUY THIS BOOK!!!!

Summary: Realistic, yet imaginative;
Review: Garth Nix's 'Sabriel' is fantasy, but when you read it, it makes you beleive in the world that he created. Sabriel, the character, is realistic, strong and powerful. If you haven't read this book, you are wasting your time reading anything else. Wonderfully writen and thought out, with a great plot. One of the best books I've ever read.

Summary: Great Book!
Review: This got me totally engrossed! I read it all at once, in one night and was very tired the next morning, but it was worth it. A really good fantasy, not just for YA, since I'm about three times too old for that category. I look forward to reading miore from Mr Nix!

Summary: Wonderful!!!!!
Review: Wonderful fantasy! A work of art, really. I can't wait to read his other books. If your into fantasy and such, you have to read this book. Actually, it's beyond words. According to his writing in Sabriel, Garth Nix is a fantastic author.

Summary: Solid fantasy story for this age group; not perfect though
Review: The book's cover first drew me to this book and expresses the mood of the story well. Sabriel, the main character is an 'Abhorsen', kind of like a Necromancing bounty-hunter heroine. Set in a 'WWI era England' meets 'classic demon filled medieval' world. The story revolves around unholy undead and stopping a comming Armageddon. Very original use of setting. The atmosphere is grey, cobblestoned, and as the story progresses, full of snow and magic. Scenario is well-done and believable. I especially liked the scenes in Sabriel's ancestral home. Characterization is also done believably. Sabriel the main character is an apt heroine, you like her. A refreshing character for teenaged girls to enjoy. The 'side kick' role and obligatory love interest (sorry, you'll have to read the book to find out who they are) are not trite. The side kick especially adds humor and contrast. However, it was a little too violent and morbid for my tastes, especially at the end. This book is aimed at mid-teens but even people in their early 20's will enjoy it. Really anyone that enjoys fantasy, especially darker fantasy will enjoy this.

Summary: the most in depth story I have read
Review: I read this book after a freind sugessted it to me. I won't even try to explain it because, I think it's impossible though it is a great book you have to read it. I finally firgured out who he wallmakers relect is it's Mogget the free magic cat. This story is filled has magic, a evil dead prince. A half prince that was once part of a ship mast head and the very best Charter Stones (which keept the dead from entering untill they were broken). Sabreil came to life as I read about her problems and trumpths, weaknesses and stengths in the end she must face the fact that she will take over her fathers postion and lay to rest the dead. If you are even considering reading this book stop and read it!!!!!!
