Summary: if ya wanna read it, buy it!!
Review: OMG! this book was the greatest book ever made! i love everything about it. the characters seem real, and the plot is excellent and creative. you learn to love it, i was kinda disappointed when i finished the book, that is, the first time i read it. I have read it at least five more times already, and i'm still not bored with it. All i have to say is if you're gonna read it, buy it, because it won't be the last time you read it!

Summary: Steer clear of this if you wish to avoid boredom
Review: This is a story about a girl whose father is a famous necromancer, but not of the normal kind. While all of the other necromancers *raise* the dead, he puts them to rest. Then one night Sabriel discovers that her father is trapped in Death (which is an actual place in this story) and she sets out to find him, and also discovers that she must fight a very evil Dead known as 'Kerrigor'.

My opinion of this book might be a bit biased by the fact that I am growing tired of the same plot used in so many books. If you have a heroine and a hero, then there is no avoiding it, they must fall deeply in love. And naturally it's *true* love! I find it extremely tedious and predictable and it bored me to death. And to make things even worse the hero is of royal blood. What is the fixation with princes and princesses?
Besides that I was also bored with the entire way it was written. I dutifully read the first oh 50 pages or so, but then I skimmed the rest. And when I say I skimmed it, I mean that I flicked very fast through the pages and only read a word on each second page, and if something caught my eye I would go back and read perhaps a passage or
two. I wasn't even interested in the ending. The good guys smite the bad guy and tell each other how much they love each other. And then Nix throws in a few deaths among the good guys who aren't main characters, just to make it sound more real.

I am not impressed, and I do NOT recommend this book whatsoever. I only gave it 2 stars because I think it might have pontentials (or could have), and while it's not interesting to me, I deem it able to please other people (knowing the other horrible books that have somehow managed to get themselves published I do not doubt that there are people who can be entertained by anything).

Summary: THIS IS THE BEST BOOK!!!!
Review: Some people say that you can't judge a book by it's cover, but in this book it is particularly true. The cover makes Sabriel look not as pretty as she is, and the monster look lame. However everybody shuld read this book. It is my favorite. IT is mildly scary, filled w/ mystery, and even has a hint of romance....

Summary: A Modern Fantasy Classic
Review: Sabriel, by Garth Nix, grabbed me by the throat and didn't let go until the bitter end. I can easily say that this is above and beyond my favorite book. A well-developed, remarkably human Sabriel had me truly believing in the Charter Runes, just as Anee Rice had me checking my neck for twin scars and Tolkien had me searching for hobbit-holes. Nix is a writer of that top-notch caliber that makes the reader believe that this is a true story, that while Kerrigor may never have stormed Wyverly College, the Nine Gates are there, murky water swirling about, concealing nameless terrors. I wholeheartedly recommend this book to anyone, not just fantasy lovers. I have read it countless times, and it just keeps getting better.

Summary: Interesting, amusing, really, really good!
Review: Sabriel is a very intriguing fantasy novel in every way imaginable! It is about a young girl, Sabriel, daughter of a high necromancer. To make a really long story short, Sabriel must take her father's place in order to save her homeland from an evil Dead creature.
The novel is very well written, as far as I'm concerned. However, there are some rather inappropriate scenes, so I recommend the book to people ages 11 and up. The author's style is very appealing, but very simple when it comes to descriptions.
I highly recommend Sabriel for a long, comforting read!

Summary: a well written novel
Review: Sabriel is a fiction story of a young necromancer- of a type.
Sabriel is Abhorsen necromancer, a post that banishes dead if they are brought back to life. When Sabriel's father is snatched from one of the greater dead, Sabriel begins a courageous quest in the Old Kingdom with a strange Free Magic creature called Mogget, posed as a cat, and a young man named Touchstone who was preserved for two hundred years inside a wooden figurehead. This gripping tale of a young woman's quest to save everything she has known and loved, including her father, as well the unfamiliar, will have you on the edge of your seat the entire book. I strongly recomend this novel to those who cherish a fastpaced adventure.

Summary: the necromancers delight
Review: If you like fantasy and a little gore then you will love SABRIEL. This book tells the story of a young woman who is rearching for her father, the Abhorsen, and for the destiny which she knows nothing about. Aided by the sarcastic and mysterious cat Mogget, Sabriel must wear her father bells, wield his sword, and save the Old Kingdom in order to become a true Abhorsen.
I found this book very exciting, a page turner to the end; and if you liked this book read the sequel: LIRAEL,daughter of the clayr

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Its INDESCRIBABLE! (well i guess not! hehe)
Review: I think Sabriel is one of the best Fantasy books I've ever read! I couldnt put it down! I love to read fantasy and this captures all of it! It has action, romance, mystery, comedy, danger! I recommend this book to dedicated fantasy readers young and old alike (well maybe not that young!) But be warned...If ya read this one ya gotta read Lirael (the sequel) and Abhorsen which has not been published yet (arrgh) But its worth the wait!!
