Summary: Wonderful Fantasy Novel, Extraordinarily Written
Review: I'm an extremely picky avid reader, and especially adore fantasy. Sabriel tell sof a girl, and a father who gets taken by a the Dead. She must becom ea necromancer, of sorts. While others use their powerful bells to bring the dead up, she must become the Abhorsen, and keep the dead down. She must venture off into the Old Kingdom to save her father, and the kingdom from Kerrigor. She meets a prince, frozen as a block of wood for two centuries.
This novel's plot winds like rope. It has a classic quest plot, but with countless twists. Nix's charecters seem so real! When a charecter falls, you can practically feel the pain. When a charecter cries, tears roll down your face. I especially love Mogget, a Free Magic being bound by a red collar in the shape of a cat. To find out more, READ IT!!
It's a must have book, filled with magic, dark deeds, dark charecters, and even a little bit of love mixed in. Lireal is the sequel, and Abhorsen is coming out in 2003, cannot wait!!!

Summary: This book is great & the best I have read in a long time
Review: I stumbled across this book at my local book store. I was just looking for something new & interesting and i definately found it. Sabriel is a great book for fantasy addicts such as myself. The detail is great it seems as thought the characters and places are real. Sabriel is very well written. There is suspence, action, suprises, and humor all the way through this book. I couldn't stop reading. It is definately a page turner. I highly recommend Sabriel and also Lirael the sequel to Sabriel. Now all of my friends are asking me if they can borrow Sabriel.

Summary: Genius!
Review: This book was absolutely wonderful. Garth Nix should be applauded for his sheer brilliance. I just got the second one, Lirael, and cannot wait to read it. I am sure it will leave me waiting in agony for number three, Abhorsen. Read it, you definitely won't regret it.

Summary: This book really deserves 10 stars
Review: this book is amazing. Every page has something on. There is not one boring page to skip in the entire book. I thought the descriptions were wonderful and the story extremely tense. Normally this kind of book would have gagged me and I wouldn't have read it--I mean walking dead? It's just not my kind of thing to read but this book was overwhelming with its beauty even though some of the subject stuff was creepy.

Summary: Read it you wont regret it!
Review: I read this book when I had nothing better to do...
And I loved it. This book should be read by everyone from Fantasy fanatics (Like me!) to anyone with hands to pick up a book.
It starts out with Sabriel a 18ish teenager on the "Normal" side of a magical border called Ancelstierre. She receives a cryptic message from her father Abhorsen that calls her over to the "Magical" side of this world called 'The Old kingdom. And it leads her on a very interesting quest.
She is joined by a Cat that's not really a cat named Mogget who is a variety of things or rather in his own words, "I have a variety of names... You may call me Mogget. As to what I am, I was once many things, but now I am only several..."
I personally loved the cat and so will you...
So read it
and the sequal 'Lirael' isnt bad either

Summary: Interesting Adventure
Review: I have read quite a few fantasy/science fiction novels, and to tell you the truth, I have never read anything remotely close to the way this story unfolds itself. The ways of a necromancer as Garth Nix portrays it is extremely interesting. How he ever came up with some of the things in the book astounds me. He does a superb way of bringing everything together at the end of the book. A definate read for those who are looking for an intriguing book.

Summary: For every age
Review: Now, I first read this book when I was 12 or 13... Maybe. Perhaps before. Anyway, now I'm nineteen and still love this book. Why, it's right behind me right now so I can read it in a lull. It is wonderful and I would recomend it to anyone who loves fantasy.

Summary: Creepy and Really Cool!
Review: "Sabriel" is Garth Nix's best work yet. It's full of action and plenty of chills. The characters are somewhat believable, though the main character, Sabriel, seems a bit too brave to be real at times. The plot was hard to follow at first, but after reading for a few chapters, it became easier to understand.
This is not, however, a good book for young children or anyone who is easily frightened. There are lots of very gruesome deaths, scary creatures from the realms of the dead, and disturbing journeys through the river of death. If you are one who enjoys chills and thrills, though, this is a book for you.

Summary: breathtaking
Review: When I picked up this book, I thought it was a gothic type book. I never have liked the supernatural much. But after reading this book I got interested in it. Now to the review

Sabriel was a special teen. She is a Chater Mage, a necromancer, and now she is Abhorsen. The old kingdom was falling into dissaray. Her father turns up missing in the Old Kingdom. Together with Mogget, a free magic being, and Touchstone she sets out to find her father's body. Can she do it in time, or will the evil creature Kerrigan get his way?
