Rating: Summary: Pure Magic! Review: This movie is a favorite of mine, my daughters, my mothers, my sisters, my nephews, and my best friend. It is very charming and can teach even the youngest child about kindness and creativity. That it is what is inside that counts, that you can survive anything if you believe in yourself. In this movie, Sara's mind is a very powerful thing. This movie is funny, sad, and inspirational. This is my second copy, we wore out the first.
Rating: Summary: This movie opened the door! Review: I don't have a lot to say, but it's worth saying. I have read the book over and over again. The first time I watched this it became my favorite movie. And every time I watched it I cried, and cried, untill I was completely Weeping. This is a realy good movie, and it is very sad! So I warn you, when you watch this for the first time, be sure to hold an extra hanky.
Rating: Summary: My Favorite Movie! Review: This movie is a total classic! Even people like me, who don't cry at movies much, cry at this one! I think it's a movie for people of all ages, and kids and adults can watch it together and really enjoy it.
Rating: Summary: Magic Review: This is one of those movies that everytime you see it, it makes you burst into tears! My friend Laura and her sister had a bet going to see how long they could without crying and they both lost. It is a great movie that I watch with friends even now that we are 15 to 16 years old! It is the cutest, saddest, and best movie for girls. All girls are princesses!
Rating: Summary: A Little Princess Is One Of A kind! Review: When I read this book, it made me think about things that I hadn't for a long time. It made me cry when poor little Sara thought she had lost her fahter in the war. I thought it was so cruel for Miss Minchin to make Sara work. But at the end it was tight because Sara had found her father. This is an emotional story for any young reader to read. It has all kinds of things for you to experience. That is why this story is one of a kind.
Rating: Summary: A Beautiful Story Anyone Can Fall in Love With! Review: This has got to be one of my favourite movies. I'm the type of person who loves orphan stories such as The Secret Garden, Annie, etc. But this one touched me like no other. It's about a little girl named Sarah who loves storytelling. She hasn't any brothers or sisters, nor a mother, so she just has one father whom she loves more than anyone. They both live together in India. Then her father is called to battle, and Sarah is sent to a boarding school in New York, where her mother used to attend as a girl. When her father is killed in battle and there's no one to pay for Sarah's school fees, the cruel headmistress forces Sarah into a life of poverty. She quickly befriends the other servant girl whose name is Becky, and somehow manages to live through the hardships that come her way. The ending just blew me away. The ending isn't the same as the book, because this movie is only based on the book, not a recreation. But all the same, you'll love it. The perfect family movie, and a great movie to introduce not only girls-but boys also-to the world of poverty children in England used to suffer.
Rating: Summary: A Fun Sleepover Girls Movie!!!! Review: I love this movie I have it on video I watched it at my grandma's for a girl sleepover party for my little cousins I like this version better that the Shirley Temple one which I have on DVD but the Shirley Temple version is good too just not as good as this one It's been a very long time since I watched this at my grandma's I just never had the time to watch it it's kind of a sad movie and very happy and you'll cry in some of the scenes and be happy too. so if your looking for a fun sleepover girl movie this would be it Get this I gauantee you'll absolutely love it.14 yr. old veiwer
Rating: Summary: WONDERFUL, touching story! Review: I enjoyed this movie SO much, and having seen it years ago I remember it still as a movie I want to share with my children now that I am a mother. Sara is a beautiful (inside & out), kind little girl and the values displayed in this movie are wonderful. The visual effects are fabulous, as is the music. In all, a great family film - very uplifting and touching. I always cry at the end! Can't say enough good things about this one.
Rating: Summary: Not true to book Review: Doesn't it bother anyone that they changed the book so much??? New York instead of London, Sarah not looking at all like she's supposed to, and a different ending? If you REALLY want to appreciate A Little Princess, why doesn't someone make a DVD version of the BBC Production with Amelia Shankey, who is a much truer Sarah in a much more faithful version. We managed to find it on VHS but not DVD. The book has been loved for three generations -- why mess with it??
Rating: Summary: A Little Princess Review: I'm not sure why I've always liked this book so much- usually I can't stand books like this. This is a sweet, sad, and happy tale. I know Sara is a very fake character, but what I like about it is that she and everyone else realizes that she's too good to be true. It would be different if the author didn't even realize that she made Sara unrealistic.I think it's unfair to categorize this book ages 5-7. I didn't appreciate this book until I was about 9 or 10. I know a 5 year old won't be as touched by this story as much as an older child would be. My favorite part of A Little Princess is when Sara is in the attic and just cries. It shows that even she is a little human. I highly recommend this book to all ages.
