Review: Unlike her other Peabody mysteries, this one got off to a slow start, but still concluded wonderfully. Peters' dragged a bit in placing the characters in unfulfilling situations, and the usual excitement wasn't there. Still, an essential Peabody mystery to read.

Review: You will love this book! I have enjoyed every book by Elizabeth Peters which I have had the pleasure of reading. The characters are well done and the plots interesting. As in the other books of this series, I also feel that Ms. Peters has captured the feel of a traveler in Egypt in the Victorian era, and educated me reguarding archeology and egyptology
