Wait until the end of the book! You won't believe who is her secret admirer!!!!! ...
Rating: Summary: SWEET! Review: I could NOT put this book down. Princess in the Spotlight is the follow-up of The Princess Diaries (volume one). It was very interesting and I kept wondering what was going to happen next. I'm REALLY surprised with the ending! I suggest that if you buy this book, make sure you have read the first one first. The only problem with this book is that it was too short, I wished for it to be longer because I finished this in a day.
Rating: Summary: A wonderful second book Review: ...I really enjoyed this book. It tells how Mia finds out about her new baby brother or sister when she finds out that her mom is preganant with her Algebra teacher's baby. She is also dealing with her love for her best friend's brother Michael and begins to recieve e-mails from a secret admirer. She has her first interview and her cousin Hank and her best friend Lilly run off and nobody knows where they went! Mia's mom and Mr. Gianini, her Algebra teacher, get married and Michael tells her she looks pretty in her Halloween dress...
Rating: Summary: I LOVE this book! Review: This is easily the best book of all time! My mom gave me the first one for Valentine's Day, but I was stranded in Quebec (but Quebec is VERY nice!!!) with no nearby bookstore, so when I flew through the book I wasn't able to race out and get the next one so I wouldn't lose sleep over what would happen to Mia. I know it sounds crazy, but this book, written in journal form, is simply superior to all others, easily passing out [other books] (Or Quebec fans!). These books, now a movie, are about Mia Thermopolis, a NYC high school student who is disastisfied with her life because she is, quote, a five foot nine freshman with a size 10 shoe and no visible breasts. Her best friend is a psychoanalyst and genius. She's in love with her best friend's brother, and her mom is not only dating her algebra teacher, but is carrying his baby! And they're getting married! So while Grandm`ere messes the wedding up, dad is still jetting off with the NBC reporter. And on top of it all, she is the current heir to a small European principality. The cheerleaders despise her, and the jocks ignore her, but is everything totally hopeless? What about these strange e-mails? Obviously, I won't give away the COMPLETE SURPRISE ENDING, you'll have to buy the book and find out yourself. Read the first book first to clear things up.
Rating: Summary: Princess, in the Spotlight Review: The first book I read in this quarter, was Princess, in the Spotlight It is written by Meg Cabot and is the second volume of The Princess Diaries. I chose this book because the cover of the book had a really big attraction. I took it off the shelf and read the first page. I wanted to keep on reading, and I figured that if wouldn't be fair if I just read the whole book without paying, so I bought it immediately. After reading the book, it was worth it. This book is about a girl named, Mia Thermopolis, who finds out that she's actually a princess (her princess name is Amelia Mignonette Grimaldi Thermopolis Renaldo) of Genovia in Europe, after fifteen years! After being suprised and depressed of her mother of not telling her sooner, she realizes that her mother is pregnant with her Algebra teacher's baby! What could go worse! In her diary, she writes that many horrible things already happen to her, and she still has another thing to worry about. In Mia's words: she's flat-chested, doesn't have a boyfriend, is responsible of groceries in the family, has to help her friend make an interesting show on television, finish her always un-done homework, and many more. When her Algebra teacher or father moves in, she'll have to move her furniture and objects back to her room, dump her mother's beer, buy baby foods, and others. Sometimes she and I wonder how come a princess has all these responsilbilities. Her Grandm`ere (grandmother) the queen, has even decided to plan a wedding for her parents! Mia, who has tried to do everything she can, cannot take any more responsibiities. Poor Mia! In this book (diary), I'm sure a lot of girls can somehow relate themselves with this. Mia goes through a lot of problems, and girls at my age do too, especially when they're growing up. I think every girl should read this book because if they do, they'll be sure to know that they're not the only ones in this world who go throught those kinds of problems.
Rating: Summary: Mia is back again. Review: How much worse could Mia's life get? She can answer that quite simply for you, much worse. Mia Thermopolis could easily give you many reason why things can and will get worse. After finding out she was a Princess and having to endure Princess lessons with her Grandmere Mia is still taking Princess lessons and still hating them just as much as she did when she started. And her Grandmere is still just as mean and weird as she always has been. From find out from her mom some very shocking news, to having to go to an interview with a big time newsreporter, to having a secret admirer. Mia doesn't think things can much worse for her. Mia grows up in this book and I loved how they showed her life and how she has to go thru it with all the bumps in it. I can't wait to read more about Mia's life and how she struggles with being Princess Amelia and how she struggles being Mia freshman at Albert Einstein High School.
Rating: Summary: Princess in the Spotlight Review: Mia Thermopolis had just found out that she was the Princess of Genovia about two months ago. She is still attending princess lessons with her grandmother. One morning, she finds out that her mom is pregnant with her algebra teacher's (Mr. Gianini) baby. Then her grandmother signs her up to go on a talk show where Beverly Bellerieve can interview her about her life as a princess. A couple nights later, while Mia is on the Internet, she finds out that some guy named Jo-C-Rox has e-mailed her. It turns out that he was her secret admirer. Mia's grandmother found out that Mia's mom and Mr. Gianini were going to get married so she plans a huge wedding for her. Mia's mom didn't like the idea so she eloped. That very same night, Mia finds out that her secret admirer was her lab partner in biology, Kenny. I really enjoyed this book because it was very interesting and exciting. It's one of those books that make you want to keep on reading to find out what happens. I liked how it was full of surprises. I also liked the first book and I'm going to read the third book as soon as it comes out. My favorite part in the book was probably when Mia's mom and Mr. Gianini eloped. Mia's grandmother was planning a very big wedding for them and at the last minute, they eloped. Mia tried to warn her that her mom wasn't going to like the idea of having a big wedding, but her grandmother didn't listen because she is a very stubborn person. I liked how they proved her wrong and she got very embarrassed.
Rating: Summary: Excellent... Review: This book was excellent and a good buy. It was a fairly quick read and the story was fun and easy to understand. Mia is getting used to being a princess, but there are far more things coming her way. She begins recieving letters from a secret admirer (could it be Michael?), gets more pointless princess lessons, and gets involved in the planning of a wedding. This is a great diary and a worthwhile read.
Rating: Summary: COOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Review: This is a great book for younger readers I really enjoyed this book Mia is so funny. This is like reading a note from a friend. I think it is a well thought out book. I think many others will enjoy this book.
