Rating: Summary: A great sequel to TPD #1 Review: Sometimes, the sequel to a good book seems basically like a warmed-over version of what came before. Not so with this one! It is just as entertaining as the first. I hesitate to spoil it (it's best to read it for yourself) but I'll just say this: it is hilarious and touching all at once. And as soon as you're finished with it, you'll want to get Vol. 3 ("Princess In Love" - perhaps the best in the series) and see what happens to Princess Mia next. I can't wait for Vol. 4!
Rating: Summary: A Great Book for Girls Review: Princess in the Spotlight is a very well rounded book. It has humor, adventure, and romance. There were a ton of awesome points in this book, but the reason I couldn't put it down was because it was really easy to relate too. Let's face it were all not princesses but we all have real life situations that are in this book. I think Meg Cabot did a good job writing this book.
Rating: Summary: The fun continues... Review: Princess Mia is back and better than ever! For fans of the first book, The Princess Diaries, the next in the series, Princess in the Spotlight, will offer more fun and excitement. A great series for girls (or grown-ups!) with an easy, breezy style that keeps the pages turning!Mia Thermopolis is trying her best to be a simple teenager despite the fact she is the sole heir to a small European principality, the country of Genovia. Her gawkiness and typical teenage angst is the prime target of Mia's grandmere, who has been giving her "princess lessons" after school. But then things start happening that rock the already shaky world that Mia has now come to know. First her mother makes a shocking announcement that leads Mia to spend days obsessing over. After that, grandmere sets up an interview for Mia -- on national television. But the icing on the cake -- Mia's new secret admirer. Who is the boy behind the mystery e-mails? Is it her crush, Michael? Or the annoying, violin playing Russian, Boris? Or -- gasp! -- could it be the boy that complains about the corn in his chili?! Princess in the Spotlight is a fun read that will have readers laughing off their seats. A cute story that breathes with life. Teenagers will be able to relate with most of this story (irregardless of the princess thing), and grown-ups will have a great time reminiscing about the by-gone days of high school, crushes, and hanging with your friends. Can't wait to read the next book in the series!
Rating: Summary: It was very good. Review: I didn't expect much since a sequels are never as good as the first, but this was surprisingly delightful. The adventures of Princess Mia are humourous. The author doesn't write as if your a five year old which is how sometimes I find the young adult books do. Even though I'm 18 some of these books are just too good to pass buy, and the Princess Diaries collection are just that too good to pass buy! These aren't books you borrow from the library, these are some of the must own! Another one is the Georgia Nicolson confessions.
Rating: Summary: better than the first Review: I enjoyed this book better than the first. It all starts when Mia's mother and her algebra teacher start going out. Then her mom gets pregnant, and they want to get married. But Mia's grandmere, starts planning this really fancy wedding. Its not what the bride and groom want. Will they elope or use the fancy wedding? Read the book to find out
Rating: Summary: an awesome novel!! Review: in this book, mia has a secret admirer(oooooooooohhhhhh!). there is also an unexpected twist concerning mia's mom and her(mia's) algebra teacher, mr. gianini. i highly recommend this for 11+ readers!
Rating: Summary: A great sequel to The Princess Diaries Review: This is a great second novel in The Princess Diaries. Mia Thermopolis, a 14-year-old freshman from Albert Einstein High School, has found out she is the Princess of Genovia. She has to endure princess lessons with Grandmere, and the ridicule she receives from students like Lana Weinberger. Now, her mother is pregnant with her algebra teacher's baby, and they plan on getting married. Grandmere is planning a huge royal wedding with celebrities and royalty; Mia believes this is a huge disaster. Then, Mia has to endure the interviews intended for television! How much more can she handle? One highlight of Mia's life at the current time is that she is receiving anonymous love letters via e-mail from someone named "JoCrox." Could it be Michael Moscovitz, the boy she has been in love with for like ever (not to mention her best friend, Lilly's, older brother)? Read this sequel to find out. This is a really great series, and I was hooked when I read the first novel. Be sure to check out all of the volumes!
Rating: Summary: Even worse than the prequel, if that is possible. Review: Since I hated the first book, I'm not entirely sure which evil demon possessed me to buy the sequel and I wish I hadn't bought it. Oh well. At least I waited for it to come out in paperback. And at least I certainly won't be buying the third book. About six weeks ago, fourteen-year-old Mia Thermopolis found out she was the Crown Princess of Genovia and sole heir to the Genovian throne. This new diary begins with her mother announcing that she is pregnant. The father of the baby is Mia's algebra teacher, no less, and she is going to marry him. How humiliating! What's a girl to do? Then Mia's grandmother pretty much forces her to do this interview on national television. Naturally, Mia botches it in front of the entire world. Among other things, she lets slip that her mom is pregnant -- something her mother wanted to keep a secret for awhile. When Grandmére finds out, she immediately hijacks the plans for Mia's mother's wedding and totally changes them, inviting a whole bunch of celebrities such as Donald Trump. Also, Mia is recieving email messages from a secret admirer who calls himself "JoSeeRox". This book is just as contrived as the original, and so comic it's strained beyond belief. Mia is every bit as whiny and annoying as she was in the previous novel. I cannot understand why this series is so popular!
Rating: Summary: Yay! Review: Great sequal to the first! Totally loved it! Can't wait for the movie!
Rating: Summary: Princess in the Spotlight Book Review Review: When was the last time a book made you feel like you where in the story? Well this one made me feel exactly that. This book is a page -turner because it is just filled with nerve-racking details. The Princess in the Spot Light is about Mia Thermopolis an ordinary girl, well not exactly-and this book will tell you why. The Princess in the Spot Light is about Mia who lives in New York, NY. The book is Mia's diary and it tells about her going through many things. Like her finding out some very interesting and important parts of the book. This book time setting is now so it is very interesting. I have many great opinions of The Princess in the Spotlight. My first opinion is that the author Meg Cabot gave great detail. For example it actually seems like you are reading her diary. Also the author Meg Cabot made feel like I was in the story because she made it seem so real. Mia, the main character in the book, was my favorite person because I liked her life and it seems like I could be a friend with her. My last opinion is this is my favorite book since last school year ended. The people who would like this book are the same people who liked the first Princess Diaries book by the same author Meg Cabot. Also the people who would like this book are the people who have seen the movie Princess Diaries. Or they might like diaries of girls this day in age. This book is so great! Plus have you ever wanted to read someone's diary before? Well now you can and guess what, you will be reading every thing she thinks about. Not only that, none of the other characters know what's in her diary! But now all you got to do is buy the book and you can read her diary.
