Summary: Wonderful read! Not to be missed.
Review: "Born in Ice" is the second book in Nora Roberts' exceptional "Born in" trilogy. The writing in this book is first rate and the story will have you enchanted.
Brianna Concannon, sister of Maggie, whose story was told in the first book, is a sweet, giving and selfless person. But in this story we get to see the strong and fiercely loyal woman beneath this soft exterior.
When best-selling mystery novelist Grayson Thane arrives at Brianna's B&B he stirs all kinds of desires inside her. Grayson feels drawn to this lovely and compelling woman and the relationship that develops between these two is moving and delightful!
Grayson is a wonderful hero who all readers will love. His impressions of Ireland as he sees it for the first time give the reader a perfect picture of this hauntingly beautiful country.
As Brianna and Grayson fall in love, Grayson, a man who has never had the need or desire to put down roots, begins to wish for a home and a family as he never has before. In the end, Grayson must choose between the life he knows and is content with and the love he feels for Brianna. This story will touch your heart.
I highly recommend this book and the other two in the trilogy. Although I am a fan of all of NR's work, I really believe that this trilogy is one of her very best. So read it today!

Summary: Gripping, real life romance in County Clare
Review: "Born in Ice" continues the story of the Cancannon sisters, who were introduced in "Born in Fire." Ms. Roberts explores the quiet dignity and passion that is Briana through her relationships with her family and a guest at her B & B, Grayson Thane. The reader is given a real taste of Ireland in Ms. Roberts wonderful descriptions of the countryside and small communities, as well. This story was a touching story of family relationships - and sets the stage for the final book in the trilogy, "Born in Shame."

Summary: Boring Unexciting Characters and Drivel for Plots
Review: (Referring to the Abridged Book on Tape) The only compelling plot line to this story was the discovery of a possible sibling living in America. I listened to this whole stupid, boring story about a self-centered, self-obsessed, self-everything mystery/thriller writer (insufferable & annoying, i didn't like him & didn't find his character sexy or smart or anything nice, & nora was trying to make him seem so complex & internally torn, but he just ended up being UN-complex & completely see-through) and an independent self-employed country girl (who was nice, i liked her) and the one plot line i was interested WAS NOT EVEN RESOLVED BY THE END OF THE STORY. of course brianna & grayson were going to get together by the end--obviously, but you didn't know what was going to happen w/this mystery lover her dad had before she was born. the only compelling thing about the story & it remained unresolved.

BOTTOM LINE: A COMPLETE WASTE OF TIME. Brianna & her dog could do a lot better!

Summary: F-A-B-U-L-O-U-S !!
Review: As a long-time reader of Ms. Roberts, I can assure others that each title is a gift, and "BORN IN ICE" is made to order. This beautiful and touching love story is surrounded by the breathtaking beauty and magic of Ireland. We find Brianna Concannon , a quiet woman whose only desire for success is in striving to make a temporary home for the guests of her bed and breakfast inn, and trying to keep the peace in a family torm apart by mistakes of the past . Enter Grayson Thane, an internationally famous author trying to forget his own troubled past and maintain the life he has painstakinglg created for himself. Not at all interested in putting down roots, he can't fight the pull he feels to this delicate woman who longs for a peaceful, quiet existence and a man to give her heart to . Add in the fire of Maggie Concannon and power of Rogan Sweeney (returning from "Born In Fire")and you have a passionate romance that with pull at your heart, and stay with you long after the last page has been savoured. Thanks again Nora, for yet another glorious love story !

Summary: A wonderful hero sets this one apart
Review: Book 2 of the "Born In" trilogy was actually my first introduction to Nora Roberts romances. I read it when I had just discovered her new romantic suspense novels, and a friend loaned me this one. It was wonderful, and now I've finally made my way back to it -- this time in its proper place in the trilogy.

The heroine, Brianna Concannon, is almost too good and too sweet to be true. Her fiery sister Maggie seems so much more human. Yet in this novel, Brianna shows her true grit as well -- underneath that almost pathetic desire to please is a will of steel and a fierce loyalty to even those who don't inspire or deserve it.

Yet it is the "hero", reformed teenage delinquent turned famous mystery novelist Grayson Thane, that really makes this one worth the read. Gray sees Ireland through first-timer's eyes, and makes the reader see it for the first time too (you can't not want to visit there after reading the descriptions in this book). Through it all is his odyssey to find a home he didn't even know he needed -- and certainly didn't want. Yet here, in this tiny village in the west counties of Ireland, he feels for the first time in his life the lure of putting down roots-- and has to decide whether to act upon it or not.
