Review: Belle Pratr's Boy is one of the best books ever. Woodrow was born on the stroke of midnight. Woodrow goes to live with his grandparents. Woodrow is a jokester,plays with Gypsy his cousin,and goes to chruch. Woodrows mom disappears on Sunday morning. Woodrow and Gypsy play in the yard and made the tree house their secret hideout.
Buzz is a bully who has to get his way.My favorite part is where Buzz gets beat up. Gypsy gets the measels and has to miss the rest of the school year. Woodrow has had a rough life when his mother disappears.Gypsy is the only one to comfort him through his rough time.
Woodrow is the best chractor there ever was. I like this book because this is a story from our part of the state. Ruth White really out did herself on this book. That is why I like this book.

Review: Could you spend a fiew days without a mom? How about a fiew years without your dad? In this book Woodrow Prater's mom vanishes form the face of the earth! Also, when Gypsy Leemaster's dad was killed when she was just a little kid.On the out side they look happy and cheerful, but on the inside they are greiving in pain.Spring turns to summer , summer turns to fall,years go by without a second parrent. then one day Love Leemaster gets married, agean. At first Gypsey resents Porter(her new stepfather),but her love starts to grow for him , and she starts to love him. Now Woodrow and Gypsy are going to 7th graid and on the 1st day when Gypsy tells about herself, Buzz started telling how Arbutis Leemaster was rely killed.Well Gypsy gets really mad and does something god awlful to her hair, in pain of her father.However,the good thing out of it was Gypsy starts a faboulis new trind!After thet she comes to face the fact that her father shot himself.She gets isolated (grounded)for a little while,and Woodrow does too, for beating the snot out of Buzz.Although it takes him a year, Woodrow comes to face the fact that his mother isnt comming back.
This is a book about two children grieving in pain.However they learn to grow over it. This is a rally good book.Ihighly suggest you read it.

Summary: Excellent book for even reluctant readers!
Review: I loved "Belle Prater's Boy" from the moment I began reading it, and my love only deepened when I began teaching the book to my 6th grade students. The children were immediately fascinated with the many mysteries in the book, such as the sudden disappearance of Belle Prater, the mysterious circumstances of Amos' death, and why Gypsy has strange, violent nightmares. The author skillfully reveals clues steadily throughout the book, causing readers to keep reading until their teacher forces them to put the book down. :-) My students loved examining the clues and playing detective to determine how the pieces fit together, as well as discussing the themes of forgiveness and how appearances can be deceiving. "Belle Prater's Boy" proved to be an excellent book for my 6th graders, many of whom are reluctant and/or struggling readers. I give it my highest recommendation for children's literature!

Summary: Mystery in the Mountains
Review: It is a mystery why woodrow's mother disappeared. And it is a mystery about the nightmares that Gypsy has. This book has funny episodes and Drama too. It tells the story of the parents a little but mostly it tells about Gypsy and her cousin Woodrow and thier adventures in the mountain town they live in. IF you like stories about kids that have intersting and tough problems you will love this book. I also recommend Camp of the Angel and the Great Gilly Hopkins about other girls with tough problems .

Summary: A Carver Review
Review: I rated Belle Praters Boy SUPERB. Its a great book with action ,and adventure. When I told my mom about it she didnt seem excited. but after she read part of it she loved it.
The book shows that even the ugliest people need to be respected because they might be the nicest person you ever meet dont judge a book by its cover.By the time you finish this book you will find a new side of you ,even if you're the nicest person ever.
This is a must read book so i hope you read it and love it and my review should not fail you!!!

Summary: Belle Prater's Boy...
Review: I thought Belle Prater's Boy was not the greatest book but it wasn't that bad. The things that made it not my favorite was at points it was really random and disgusting. And it also had a totally unsatisfying ending and really no ending whatsooever. I probably wouldn't have picked the book out to read myself- we read it as a whole grade in school- but then again I might have. But the things that make it not my least favorite is 1 i've read some really bad books that are worse and 2 i loved the sad parts. I guess I've got a thing for sad books. And this at points was definitely one of them.

Review: I like the part were Gypsy , Woodrow and Blind Benny go out on the rail road picking tihngs up on the garbage.Because there they make a real friend called Blind Benny.

Summary: The Ending........
Review: I thought it was an great book but, the ending was not what I had expected. It didnt really pull the book together and tell what really happened to the characters-just what the characters thought had happened. (It left me wondering what happened)I like books that the ending tells you everything you need to know-not cliff hangers. If the ending was better, I would have gave it 5 stars, that is the only thing I did not like about the book. Over all- GREAT BOOK!!!

Review: I thought the book Belle Praters Boy was great! In the begining it is a little boring but it gets better and better as the book goes on . It's one of those books that you can't put down when you start to read it. Woodrow, on of the main characters wakes up to knowing that his mother dissapeared. He goes to live with his cousin, Gyspsy. She has the same troubles, since her fater died. Through the good times and bad times they become very close friends. The ending is great too!!

Review: I recently read the book Belle Prater's Boy by Ruth White. I found this book GREAT! I think it is a great book for preteens and teens. This book shows that looks aren't everything and just because someone looks different than you, that doesn't tell you what they are like inside. In the book, Woodrow is cross-eyed, yet he is a very nice person. Gypsy, his cousin and best friend, has beautiful, long hair, yet no one sees the real her. Belle Prater, Woodrow's mom, was not the most beautiful woman ever, so some people thought differently of her. Belle Prater's Boy is a wonderful book, and I recommend it to anyone ages 9 and up. Even adults would enjoy this book. Belle Prater's Boy sends a good message that I think everyone should use in real life.
