Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Absolutly excellent. . . Review: I found out about Kyle Mills by accident. His first novel Rising Phoenix really surprised me. Then when I read Storming Heaven I knew for sure that this young writer has the right stuff. Storming Heaven has the correct mend of characters along with a very interesting plot structure. I hope that young Kyle Mills will find great success and I anticipate for his next novel. Mr. Mills my hat goes off to you.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: IT'S A TEN!!! Review: I just found this author. One of the best thrillers I have ever read. I am now going to order all of his other works. He is is in the same clss as Michael Connolly, Nelson DeMille, Robert Crais, Clive Cussler, William Diehl, James Lee Burke, Stephen Hunter, Susan Issacs, Faye Kellerman, Jonathon Kellerman, Dennis Lahane, Elmore Leonard, David Morrell and Robert Tannenbaum. His plotting is marvelous; his prose is outstanding; and his characters are exciting. Nothing more you can want from a writer. DON'T MISS READING THIS ONE!!!
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Better than Rising Phoenix Review: I liked Kyle's first book, Rising Phoenix, but it wasn't enough to put him on my personal 'A' list of authors. However, Storming Heaven is so good that he immediately jumped up towards the top.The characters are very compelling and are the strength of the story. This is definitely not one of those hollywood script style books like so many authors are putting out now. The characters and plot are thoroughly fleshed out and the detail is compelling. If you like your heros flawed then Kyle's Mark Beamon is for you. He has drinking and weight problems, plus he has a hard time getting along with his boss (or any 'authority figure'). Beamon is truly one of the most memorable protagonists I have seen in a long time. I highly recommend this book and think that if you enjoy real characters and good suspense you will enjoy it too.
Rating: ![2 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-2-0.gif) Summary: Disappointed Review: I really thought that this book was going to be great, but in actuality it's a mediocre piece of fiction. You have to give the author some credit for the plot, but I found this novel incredibly hard to finish due to the fact that it wasn't interesting. Save your time and your money by avoiding this book.
Rating: ![3 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-3-0.gif) Summary: Disappointing Review: I thought Rising Phoenix was an excellent first novel, and could hardly wait for #2 from this author. Storming Heaven turned out to be a disappointment. The story starts off well.... then becomes pretty tedious (it's obvious what's happened to our heroine very early on)... and then moves back to a better pace mid-way through the book. This is an OK, not great, book.... but, if you think you'll be following Mark Beamon in future novels, you'll want to read this for continuity. As a protagonist, Beamon is cool!
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Kept me on the edge. Review: I truly enjoyed my first Kyle Mills book and it will not be my last. I have recommended this book to numerous people (as a matter of fact, my copy is worn badly) and it has YET to disappoint!
Rating: ![3 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-3-0.gif) Summary: About the same as Rising Phoenix but w/o the great premise Review: If you liked Rising Phoenix, you'll probably like this as well. As a light read, it's ok. But again, Beamon just isn't very likeable or believable as a hero or the kind of super cop you'd expect from a story like this. The premise of this doesn't come close to being as good as Rising Phoenix, but the author does a good job of hooking the reader early in the story because you really have no idea what is going on, but the early events make you curious enough to want to find out. However, once the church gets into the picture, the story falls apart a little. The church just isn't very believable. And that and Beamon together is just a little too much. This is just about on par with Rising Phoenix, so if you liked that, I suppose this is worth your time as well.

Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Kyle Mills is Definately Up and Coming Review: In this book the FBI agent Mark Beamon is back. This book has you on the edge of your seat not wanting to put it down. Be sure to read the book Rising Phoenix first. It definately shows how well the author keeps his characters very real. He holds back nothing in the political side of things. Really makes you think.
