Summary: A great one-night read
Review: On Christmas Eve my daughter and I exchanged gifts only to find that we had both purchased this book for each other. We both love Ms. Lindsey's Mallory Family series and have read all of them. This book as the others had the usual bantering and bickering that makes you smile each time you read one. Although abbreviated in length I still loved it. We find that the rumor that their grandmother was a gypsy is indeed true. Lastly, as most of the other reviewers have said...please Johanna, bring on Jeremy's story, your loyal fans can't wait to read much more about this lovable rascal.

Summary: I found this book to be a wonderful.
Review: This is definitely a book to read at Christmas time or anytime. It puts the whole Malory clan at your fingertips. I really enjoyed reading it and look forward to Ms. Lindsey's next book.

Summary: I want more
Review: I love all the Mallory novels, I have the entire collection, I would really like to see several more Mallory books, Possibly on Tony's and James oldest two girls. I have been reading about this family for so long that I eagerly await the next installment of the Mallory clan. Please write another full size novel on the clan. The Present was wonderful I really enjoyed having the whole family involved in this story. Please give us more

Summary: I thought the book was great.
Review: Lindsey books about the Malorys are great. I really enjoy reading them. Would really like to see her writing more about the Malorys in the future.

Summary: IN LINE WITH THE MALORY TRADITION - HARD TO PUT DOWN !!
Review: JOHANNA LINDSEY HAS SEVERAL "MALORY" NOVELS AND THEY ARE ALL WONDERFUL. I WAS NOT DISAPPOINTED BY "THE PRESENT". JOHANNA LINDSEY MAKES YOU FEEL AS IF YOU ARE A PART OF THE "MALORY CLAN". THE CHARACTERS JUMP OUT THE PAGES AND ARE SO REAL.

Summary: I LOVED THIS STORY!!
Review: I read all the reviews here, and I did hesitate before purchasing this book. But, purchase I did, and I am glad I did! I love the stories of this family and glad I didn't wait for the paperback or for the library to stock it. After reading all the other novels in this series, I just had to read this as well, I was not disappointed! The story was as wonderful as all the previous about the family. For all of you who are upset about the lack of spice in this addition to the series, you should know that there is more to romance than what happens sexually, there is the connection of minds and souls that can often be more fulfilling. Wouldn't it be sad if this were not true?

Summary: Enchanting
Review: Lindsey is and will always be an enchanter of tales. The book wasn't long enough true, but then none of them are and she keeps you wanting more. The Malorys speak for themselves and this little "Present" put to rest the background that was just passed from generation to generation but never varified. There is still more to come from this family you can be sure.

Summary: A great Christmas present!
Review: At first I was disappointed that this wasn't a full-length novel, but once I started reading it, I was enthralled. Any story about those marvelous Malorys is bound to brighten my day! As a delightful break from all the swashbuckling action they're usually knee-deep in the middle of, it was a wonderful treat to see the Malorys interacting as a family. I consider this book to be the author's contribution to the holiday short stories that are usually bound up in paperback anthologies. Thanks for the Christmas present, Ms. Lindsey!

The only criticism I would offer is that it would have been interesting if Christopher's and Anastasia's story had been told in the first-person as if we were actually reading their story along with the rest of the family. There could have been switch-offs between Anastasia's memoirs and Christopher's, just the way the story said the journal was written. That could have been an intriguing twist.

Finally, let me add my call to all the other readers and reviewers who have been pleading for... yes, JEREMY'S STORY! Hell's bells, we've waited long enough!

Summary: Disappointing!
Review: I love the Malory series but found this one lacking all the passion I've come to expect from the Malorys. A nice story...but check it out from the library.

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: Parts were fun, but it's my least favorite in the series.
Review: I love to read about the Malory family. And I think some of the underlying story lines were good as well as the main storyline. However, the book was too short to develope the stories as well as all of the others in the series. It seemed too rushed. But it's still my favorite series of books.
