Summary: You should have been writing YEARS ago!!
Review: Ms. Karon should have written the Mitford series years ago, then we would have more than five volumes to read and savor by now!! I LOVED this book and LOVED all the others. Each book was treated like a box of chocolates. As I read each chapter, I savored it and saved the rest untill my next "escape". I live in a small town myself. The social life and familiarity of the people are much the same. I only wish they practiced the simple, everyday out workings of their faith more in the way the people of Mitford do. If everyone in my town read the Mitford series, I honestly believe they would be inspired to do so. I have upped my simple acts of kindnesses and care, just because of these books. They give you hope in making a difference in your community, no matter how small. I only hope billions more people will read these books for years on end, and that they will never cease to be a source of inspiration. Somehow, I believe that was the "higher" plan. Thank-you Ms. Karon, for listening to that plan. E. Guest

Summary: Jan Karon continues to touch our hearts and souls.
Review: Jan Karon has done it again. She continues to express God's love for humanity through Reverend Tim. I laughed as I read the experience Tim had as he went on his first deep-sea fishing trip, a gift from Cynthia, and wept with him as he furiously searched for his wife, and young Jonathon after the storm ripped off their porch and caused damage to their house. Jan has a definite way of touching our hearts and showing us that God is always in control. Thanks for a job well done.

Summary: This was a long awaited letter from a group of dear friends
Review: I have been a Mitford fan from the very beginning and eagerly await every new book. I would love to live in Mitford or wherever these wonderful people live. I feel privileged to have met the author and have her autograph two of my Mitford books. I'd love to live next door and be able to read the new entries every day. Thank you, Jan.

Summary: I can't wait until the new one comes out.
Review: At first I didn't like that Father Tim left Mitford. I came to love the characters in Mitford. As I read the book Whitecap became more interesting and one event in the book helped to link the old with the new. I really love Jan Karon books and wish that Father Tim really existed.

Summary: ANOTHER WINNER!
Review: For months I waited patiently for this latest installment of the popular series by Jan Karon. I was not disappointed. Miss Karon in A NEW SONG, gave us the comfort of old friends in the characters from the other books in the series and introduced us to a whole new array of colorful friends. Miss Karon's books are wondeful for any age. For Christmas, I gave my granddaughter the other books in the series. They are inspriational without being preachy. Father Tim and Cynthia, Lace, Dooley, the mayor, everyone are now friends. I can'at wait for the next book!

Summary: Out standing as are all the other Mitford books.
Review: Father Tim and his wife Cynthia leave Mitford to take up his pastoring a small island church for a short period of time. Many new characters are introduced but the old friends back in Mitford are not forgotten. They experience joy and sorrows as they settle into a new way of life. This is a must for every reader of the Mitford series. Surely there must be more books to follow as we readers can't stop with this one. We have grown to love Father Timothy, Cynthia and Dooley as well as dear old Barnabus. I look forward to the next in the series.Keep them coming Jan. We love you and Mitford. Please do not let the little town die. Lets keep it alive. We need more towns like Mitford.

Summary: "A New Song"is another winner for Jan Karon!!
Review: I am a relatively new fan of the "Mitford" series by Jan Karon. I was given the first three books as a birthday gift from a friend. It turned out to be my favorite gift! I love father Tim, Cynthia, Dooley, and all the wonderful characters in these books. "A New Song" is a real treat. I enjoyed meeting all the new characters and I really enjoyed the new setting(at the beach). Please continue the Mitford series for many more books. I am eagerly awaiting the next book.

Summary: I thought the book was absolutely wonderful!!
Review: I enjoyed this latest Mitford book to the max!! The characters are so real and lifelike. I have grown to "love" Father Tim and and I feel sad when a book is finished. I really do miss him! I think that is a real tribute to the author of this series. To become attached to a character in a book is a rare experience. I can't wait until the next Mitford book comes out. I did enjoy the change of locale. It was another element of real life situations that occur. Thanks, Jan, for giving your readers a positive, compassionate role model to enhance our lives.
