Rating: Summary: Definately worth your time to read Review: I read this book about 5 years ago...but I'm reading Sheldon's book reviews and had to add my 2 cents. Out of all of Sheldon's books (I've read them all except Best Laid Plans so far)....this is definately on the better half. It is interesting and although parts are predictable....SO WHAT!(And for the record...I think it's only predictable if you've read alot of his books already...otherwise maybe it's not) It is an enjoyable read...and some parts are NOT predictable...so I say split the difference w/sheldon and enjoy it for what it's worth....A great escape by one of the best!! P.S. Master Of The Game is his best. I highly recommend that one!!!!
Rating: Summary: Gripping To The End...! Review: I read this book inside 2 days, whilst holidaying in Thailand. I've read a few Sheldon books before, but I have always been after this one - and it didn't dissapoint! What a story! GET IT!
Rating: Summary: OK read, but expect more Review: I was disappointed in the plot development. Find out who these people are then let us contact them- Right. Was Bellamy such an idiot not to know what would happen? The story line was too predictable, one person leads to one other, etc. And then they leave me hanging as to what happened to Pier (the helpful whore). What about that hand with 6 fingers and 2 thumbs, where did it end up after the carnival man met the snake? How did the alien know to contact Bellamy 2 weeks after the crash instead of 2 days afterwards? Way to many lose ends and stretches for my taste.
Rating: Summary: A little corny...but a fun read Review: I've always been a fan of Sheldon's books like "If Tomorrow Comes" and "Bloodline." This one was pretty different......I was very surprised to see that he had incorporated sci-fi elements -- which were, I'm sorry to say, very hokey. But if you can get past that, it's still a fun read.
Rating: Summary: Sheldon's best book Review: I've read a lot of books and this is certainly the best. It looks like it just came out from an X-Files episode. The only thing wrong with the book is the end, which is too fantastic. But anyway it's highly recomended!
Rating: Summary: It was a great and exciting book Review: It captured my attention from the first line all the way to the end. I couldn't get enough, I had to read it all in one sitting because I couldn't put it down.
Rating: Summary: Doomsday Conspiracy was doomed from the start Review: It seems as though Sheldon, took a leave of absence and let someone else write the novel. It was not like anything else he wrote. Never before or after has he written about aliens, so why start now? Not only was it unbelievable but it was confusing too. I almost didn't finish reading it, but I stuck it through to the end, with hopes that it might get better. Sadly, I was mistaken.
Rating: Summary: Science Fiction for the beginner Review: Someone suggested that if I like SF I should read this book. They were mistaken. If you like SF, stay away from this book. Imagine if Tom Clancy wrote a romance novel, or if Stephen King wrote a children's book...get the picture? The plot was typical of SF movies of the 1950s and 70s: Super advanced plant people crash on Earth and a super secret group of world-dominating CEOs try to kill all the witnesses. The aliens want us to clean up our act, the conspiracy group wants to drill for oil in the protected Alaskan wilderness...hey, wait a minute... There is an important lesson given by Mr. Sheldon in this book: Sidney doesn't write good science fiction.
Rating: Summary: The best novel Review: the best novel, don't you think so
Rating: Summary: GREAT WORK! Review: The Doomsday Conspiracy wasn't just about government and politics, it was about a man caught in a conspiracy and the life that he had to lead. It was a wonderful spell binding book that I couldn't put down. Sidney did once again, and I'm sure there's plenty more where that came from.
