Summary: Read any other Faye Kellerman novel BUT this one!
Review: I have read all the previous mysteries that Faye Kellerman has written so I was really looking forward to this one. It started out to be interesting and I was enjoying it. Unfortunately I eventually had a bad feeling that a supernatural phenomenom was going to be employed as a way of explaining things. When it was, I felt very disappointed that I had wasted money on the book and the entire day reading it. I hated the ending and felt truly ripped off that she resorted to that. Faye Kellerman can, and has, written much better books in the past and didn't have to resort to "bait & switch" tactics to do it. I hope she returns to writing that type of mystery. Until she does, if you're looking for riveting plots and people you care about even when you've finished the book, read any of the Peter & Rina detective series. Do yourself a favor though and skip this one!!!

Summary: very disappointing
Review: I bought this book because I live in Las Vegas and I wanted a intelligent thriller about the area. I was disappointed by the unrealistic science fiction theme. I have heard that some of her other books are better but this one I wouldn't recommend this book unless you're into science fiction crime dramas.

Summary: Worst book read in last five years.
Review: This 400+ page book was truly the worst thing I have read in years. How did this ever make it to the best seller list? I was trapped on an airplane with this as my only reading material or it would have been abandoned. Thought this was going to be a murder mystery but it was really sci-fi. Terribly written and no real story either.

Summary: Not one character I cared about...
Review: I quit reading after 100 pages, and just skimmed the rest. The characters, like the setting, are seedy and depressing. I can't get interested in a main character who's so blase about using prostitutes. Furthermore, the book should have been marked as a supernatural thriller, not a mystery. I'm sorry I spent my time and money on it.

Summary: Very disappointing. This needs to be in science fiction.
Review: Although this mystery starts out very exciting, it is clear that Kellerman has lost her touch. It has a definate science fiction twist that is very disappointing. I do not recommend this book.

Summary: silly plot - a huge disappointment
Review: Can we please have Peter Decker and Rina Lazarus back? Please? This is one of the few books that I regretted having spent the money on. A silly plot, all characters are dysfunctional, no conclusion in the end. A werewolf that is sometimes a bird, sometimes a man with a bowler-hat and sometimes a beautiful woman who turns out to be the half sister of one of the characters... very sad. A huge step backwards for Faye Kellerman!

Summary: A truly awful book
Review: This is a truly awful book by an author whose work I usually devour. The plot is absurd, and the characters, with one or two exceptions, totally unlikable. I hope that this is not the beginning of a new series. I forced myself to finish the book (only because I was on vacation in a country where it was impossible to find a replacement book) and it got worse and worse by the page. It reads like a book Kellerman might have written in her teens, and then dusted off to capitalize on the fact that she now has a following. I'd give it a minus-Star rating if I could.

Summary: What a mishmash. Who is Kellerman trying to be....
Review: What a disappointment this book is. Rina and Decker were believable (at least in the first few books) and the stories were very interesting. All the characters were people I became interested in and wanted to know more about. I did not like any of these characters and could not believe anything about them. I just did not care... and finally just put the book down. What a waste of money. Get back to some real writing, Faye, I know you have it in you

Summary: DISAPPOINTING
Review: I ORDERED 'MOON MUSIC' AND 'THE TRIUMPH AND THE GLORY LAST WEEK AND JUST FINISHED 'MOON MUSIC'. I HAVE TO SAY THAT IT WASN'T VERY GOOD. IT JUST FELL FLAT, IT'S NOWHERE NEAR AS GOOD AS HER OTHER NOVELS.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Excellent idea...interesting...ultimately flawed...
Review: This is the first Kellerman novel I've read, but I know from her history that this is a big change of pace for her. It's a book that owes a lot to the "Night Stalker" series of the 70s, sort of crosswired with a detective story. An excellent mix of ideas that have been done before in a novel way. But one of the flaws of the novel is that it has a big cast of caharcters, and there's not enough time to develop them all.

Still, this is an intriguing novel, and a good summer read. Let's hope we see more of Romulus Poe in future adventures.
