Rating: Summary: Great information - bad diet. Review: His seven day quick fix diet and information about body starvation is increadibly genius. His knowledge is very insightful. I learned a great deal about the body and how it functioned from this tape. But it only worked short term for me. I still follow a lot of the advice that he gives and I still watch my carbohydrates but eating lowfat meats most of the time was dificult for me. I am not much of a fish or vegetable eater and I like more variety in my diet than mostly turkey. I found it dificult to find high protien, low fat, low carb foods or snacks that I could stick with. I found a few foods that I could eat in a health food store but they proved expensive and tiresome. I still drink the protien shake that he recommended. My boyfriend is a health fanatic and he likes it too. Low in carbs and sugar, great taste. Also, he recommends a few kinds of suppliments but does not give us a guide to the amount. He mentions how many pills but not the milligram size of the all of the pills. Also, he does not list a total carbs daily allowance to stay within in order to maintain his diet. I tried looking in his book for the quantities of carbs and pills but he did not list them there either. The body needs more fiber with the lack of carbohydrate food you have to find another means in order to stay regular. Overall, I learned a lot about how the body processes food and this was very useful information. I would recommend the tape for the knowledge and I am sure that it could work but not for people that like variety. Maybe when the food industry catches up to his ideas, then this diet could work. Watch your calories. Try the food pyramid with less carbohydrates, more exercise and find out your EMOTIONAL control (or lack of). Did you notice that all of the weight loss tapes in Amazon with five stars were about curbing anxiety and stress more than diet. Good luck!

Rating: Summary: Forget it.... Review: I read an average of 2 books per week, many are bodybuilding/health related. This book is more hype with the big name celebrities backing it than good knowledge. Tony disdains high fat foods even though it's been proven that higher fat, lower carb diets rid the body of fat and keep insulin levels down. A lot of the diets are lower refined carb, this is good, BUT then he allows free foods such as artificially sweetened foods and drinks and BBQ sauce, ketchup, etc. that are FILLED with sugar or raise insulin although there is no sugar content. I don't think this author did much research, except for copying ideas from several different diet books that were also not well researched. If you have a tough time losing fat, I recommend some of the other low carb books on the market written by doctors who really know the fat loss resistant bodies that most of us have. I wasted my money and added a brainless diet book to my collection.
