Summary: Classic family reading!!
Review: Another book from my old library! I am just completing the 4th Boxcar Children Book - the first was an oldie from my home library! If you have more than one child this is a series that will keep all children interested - even with big age differences - and mom & dad's imagination soaring, too! I could hardly convince either child - boys aged 4 & 9 to let me stop reading - sometimes 4 chapters per evening. When we finished the first one we passed it on to friends with girls aged 5 & 10. The same thing happened. Not only did the children sit listening, but they talked about the adventures afterwards in length - especially in the first book. Glad to know that Amazon is a place to find these wonderful stories!

Summary: Childhood Flashbacks
Review: I've been looking for this book for many years. I remember this book when I was in the first grade and our library teacher read it to us. I remember we all sat in our little chairs in a circle while she read us this story. I learned at a very young age that you can do whatever you set your mind on doing, just by the reading of this classic book. I've ordered this book for me, my kids, and my grandkids also. There will never be another book like this, or at least I haven't seen it out there. Rock On Mrs. Warner! I hope she still is alive!

Summary: Excellent - must read!
Review: Some of my warmest memories of childhood revolve around the saga of these 4 orphans. My mother used the series to read to my siblings and I each night. From being consumed by this story, I learned to read at an early age and I credit this series with instilling a love of reading in me to this day.

Summary: The Most Memorable Reading Of My Life
Review: I read this book in 1970. Of all the books I've ever read, this one is the most memorable. At the time, getting me to read a book was nearly impossible.

A bookmobile came to our school in Syracuse, New York and invited anyone interested to visit. I remember thinking, "what a easy way to get out of class," so I jumped into the book filled truck and started to browse. I stumbled across "The Boxcar Children" and began to read a few sentences, then paragraphs... I couldn't put the book down.

It's been 29 years and I still remember the story as if I read the book yesterday. It's adventurous, heart-warming, and intelligent. It's tells how friendship, love & unity can help you overcome even the worst circumstances. I recommend this book to children of all ages!

Summary: This book is the absolute best of the Boxcar Series!!!!!!!!!
Review: This is my overall favorite of all the Boxcar Children mysteries and I am extremely glad that I was fortunate enough to get my hands on a copy of this book. This is an excellent book and I recommend it to any young child to read. This is certainly one of the most interesting mystery books that I have ever read. Be sure to read it, and Good job writing this book, MS. Warner.

Summary: Inspiring and heart warming.
Review: I read this book in 1954 as a 2nd grader. I loved it then and still think it is one of the best books around. My daughters loved it, and now I am giving it to my grandchildren. It teaches self-reliance, the sense of family, and leaves you with a lingering feeling of inspiration.

Summary: I love this book!
Review: I first read this book when I was in 2nd grade. I loved it then and I still love it. This book got me hooked on reading. I would recommend this book to all children. I'm in high school now and I still read it from time to time.

Summary: Great for adventurous kids
Review: I have always hated to read. When I was in 4th Grade many moons ago, I read every book on the Box Car Children that I could find. Now, my kids are starting to read them. It is nice to see them want to read.

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: This book has a great story line that holds kids attention!
Review: Our class is reading this book and it is very entertaining! The four children are so kind to each other in their attempt to survive alone. I like the humor, especially with Benny and when he cuts Watch's hair! This book is a must read for 2nd and 3rd graders!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: I keep reading it year after year!
Review: My mom has kept the hardcover of The Boxcar Children in her nightstand for as long as I can remember (I'm 25). I remember first reading it when I was about 7 or 8...and I kept sneaking into her bedroom to read it every so often. Well, I still keep going back every few years to refresh my memory, and I know I will keep reading it for years to come (I'm going to ask her if I can have it, though!). It says a lot about a book/series when you continue (re)reading them for 20 years.
