Summary: EXCITING!
Review: I liked when the children were living in the boxcar in order to hide from their grandfather. I actually felt like I was there with them. I liked this book the best of all of the boxcar children books. My favorite character is Jessie, because she is kind to her little brother, Benny.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: A wonderful classic for early readers.
Review: Younger readers don't have too many exciting classics to choose from. This book fills the bill. Early readers should find the words relatively easy. How enticing it must be... kids living on their own? A reading child's dream comes true in this wonderful book.

Summary: The Boxcar Children
Review: I discovered The Boxcar Children series when I was 8. Since then I have read the first 19 books (the works of the original author, Gertrude Chandler Warner) many times, and The Boxcar Children remains my favorite.

The idea of adventure and problem solving without adult interference is at the heart of every child's daydreams. Ms. Warner recognized this, and The Boxcar Children were created.

I would recommend the first 19 books to anyone who is looking for adventure and excitement!

Summary: Fabulous book!
Review: The Boxcar Children was (and still is) one of my favorite books. It was one of the first books that I started to read to my 3-year old. When my daughter Holly was 4 years old, she began to "recite" the book on her own. Now, as a first grader, she can actually read it on her own. We love all the characters and the storylines. This book truly is a classic.

Summary: You'll Enjoy It!
Review: I am 7 years old and I read this book on my own. I loved it. The main characters are Henry, Jessie, Benny and Violet. It is about four children who lived in a boxcar. They had to get their own food, their own dishes and they had to make their own beds. I liked this book because I thought it was interesting and fun to read!

Summary: Never read the books but purchasing TODAY!
Review: Last night I had the opportunity to view a play entitled "The Boxcar Children" at the Seattle Children's Theatre. What a masterpiece--"flawless" expressed my husband who accompanied me along with our 4 year old daughter and 6 year old son. It captured the attention of old and young alike; not to mention, a tear jerker. I'm so anxious to purchase the books! I've read the reviews from others and can't wait to dive into them to read to my little ones! I have to say, the best part of the evening was actually meeting Gertrude Chandler Warner at the reception--what a wonderful treat!!!!! I placed 5 stars on the rating even though I have not read them yet...as they say, the book is always better!!!
