Review: I'm going to tell you about a book called ''The Boxcar Children''. There once was 4 children who ran away from home. They needed a place to sleep and they found a bakery . They met some people who they thought were nice then they had to run away again. They found a place to stay and met a nice doctor. I thought it was just .o.k. because it was kind of hard to follow. I felt there was too much going on to keep track of. I give this book 2 stars.

Their parents died. They have a grandfather. They have charactrs like Benny. He is the little one of the family and he is good for helping out but sometimes he just cries. Summary: The BoxCar Children
Review: Wow! This fantastic book changed my whole life in reading. This book was about 4 wonderful orphans who are runaways. Their mother and father had died. They had a grandfather. They thought he was as mean as a tiger biting people's arms off that was why they wouldn't go live with him. They found a boxcar. Henry, the oldest child, went to find work in town and that was how they got their money. There was a wonderful race and it's up to you to find out who wins and gets the great prize. Also, you get to find out if their grandfather is mean or nice.I like this book because it is a mystery and a suspenseful book. I would recommened this book to people who like these kinds of books. I would give this book 5 stars because it is cool and rocks.

Summary: Boxcar Children For Me!
Review: Have you ever wondered what it's like to live in the woods? Well, who hasn't wanted to camp-out in the woods with nothing but nature? In this wonderfully descriptive book, you'll go through experiences with Henry, Jessie, Violet, and Benny. The children are so resourceful and creative! They come up with great ideas- they even construct an ingenius swimming pool! From making meals to using the nearby brook for a boat-load of ideas, this book is a must-have for anyone! It teaches us to appreciate what we have. It also makes us wonder what we would've done in a situation like this! There isn't a word to describe this book! Its quaint, original, and "Why didn't I think of that?" thoughts and ideas are just one ingredient to this fabulous book! Five stars!

Summary: Introduce this book to your hate-to-readers
Review: I loved this book as a child and read it over and over, more than any other book. I lived in the boxcar with the children (I had a very vivid imagination as a child), loving the sanctuary of this home in the woods, free from adults and making use of resources available.

When I found a copy about a year ago, I was thrilled. I still love reading it.

My 8-year-old granddaughter hated to read. She skimed through books she was forced to read. I introduced this book to her (along with the Nancy Drew series), and now she loves to read, and she can't wait to get on to the next book. I've been reading each mystery too, and we love to talk about them.

I plan to get every book of the series. I enjoy Ayn Rand, Anne McCaffrey, Alice Walker, and other authors, but it's also enjoyable to sit down and read some of the simple books your kids read and your grandkids read, especially this series.

If you know anyone in this age group who hates to read, give them the Boxcar Children as a gift. You'll see them turning into an avid reader.

Summary: I never liked these books
Review: OK, I have to be honest, I didn't like this series when I was a kid. I was a voracious reader and I read the entire Boxcar series because it was recommended, maybe because I LOVED the Narnia books, and the Boxcar series also stars four siblings.

The characters are flat, prissy and dorky, and their dialogue always struck me as very unrealistic.

These books don't hold a candle to the Narnia books, and it's unfair to compare them. But I would venture that the Boxcar books are just not even worth reading.
