Rating: Summary: A beautifully written wholesome story! Review: The Boxcar Children series was recommended to me by a friend. Once started, my children begged me to keep reading. The story is full of wholesome adventures that will keep children from 4 years to 9 years interested. I highly recommend reading the books in their series order. Save yourself time and money and just buy the first four books in one shipment. After reading the first, you will be just as anxious as your children to get to the next.
Rating: Summary: I liked the book, it was one of the best I have read. Review: I liked how the author of the book kept having the characters running away from different people. I found it to be easy to read, as I am in school and it was a very challenging "Accelerated Reading" test. We have been asked to read 5 "chapter books" a quarter this year and I was very nervous about this. But the Boxcar book kept me wanting to read more and more. It was one of the only books that kept my interest for the whole story. It was not the easiest book I ever read but also not the hardest. I am looking forward to reading more in the Boxcar Children series. I have already looked in the library and bookstore. I have added them to my Christmas list as well.
Rating: Summary: really enjoyed it Review: Four children are orpaned and decide they can live without the help of adults. They do a good job until one of them gets sick, then they need help. They are very surprised to find their Grandfather and return to a loving family where they are allowed the freedom to do many things.
Rating: Summary: We all liked it because we like adventures! Review: This is a wonderful adventure about four children that are orphans. They live in a boxcar and find lots of fun as they go to junkyards, cherry orchards, and a feild day. They end up living with their grandfather and live happily ever after. Thank you, Mrs. Higgins' Second Grade class at Vowles Elementary.

Rating: Summary: My favorite book as a child! Review: When I was a young child, in the 2nd grade, my father worked for a thrift store driving a truck picking up unwanted items from people's homes. I still remember the day my father brought home a first edition copy of The Boxcar Children book he found in a box of junk he picked up that afternoon. I immediately climbed my favorite tree in the backyard and devoured it. Sometime later it got lost. I am so glad that it is still in print so that my 2nd grader will get the chance to enjoy it as much as I did.
Rating: Summary: excellent when I was a kid and now. Review: I started reading these books when I was in the third grade. I started buying the series for my son before he was born. Now my daughter, who is five and not yet in school, loves me to read them to her. I have the first 26 books, but have every intention of completing the set. It's nice to have your childhood favorites live on in your children's hearts. Whenever I had no one to play with I could always play with Henri, Jessie, Violet and Ben. Please keep writing more adventures.
Rating: Summary: Fantastic reading for young people! Review: My 7 year old son began reading this series of books last year, The Boxcar Children #1, being the first. He loves the mysteries and finding out what happens next and enjoys telling me all about what happens to the children in each one. This first in the series of the Boxcar Children really sparked his interest in this type of reading. Kudos to Chandler-Warner for her wonderful writing!
Rating: Summary: I THOUHT THAT IT WAS GOOD AND INTERESTING Review: OTHER KID WOULD LIKE IT TOO.
Rating: Summary: One of my favorite childhood books Review: I am not sure when this book was originally published, but I am 38 and my mom read this to me when I was very young. I still remember the story vividly and I am ordering it on-line for my niece. This story is every child's fantasy...a simple life with simple rules...and best of all...no adults!!
