Summary: Audio Cassette is terrific too!
Review: My first-grader loves to listen to this tape at bedtime, with or without holding the book also. He has heard this story countless times, and still asks for more!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Absolutely loved it!!!!
Review: This is one of the best books I've ever read. I loved everything about it. I've read like every single one in the series and they were all great. I especially liked the Amusement Park Mystery.

Summary: A wonderful seed to plant in the imagination of children.
Review: My grandmother read this book to me 45 years ago, along with 4 others in the series, and I still remember it vividly. I read this to my children before they could read. My 10-year old son has now checked it out of the library and plans to read all in the series. I remember how it triggered my imagination and on those days all children have, thinking about running away, I would visualize what I would do living in a box car. Of course, I knew I could never be that brave, but to imagine it was quite fun. I think this is one of the classics all children should read.

Summary: Wonderful memories!
Review: This was an absolutely favorite book when I was growing up. Now I am thrilled to have found it in print, 30 years later. The Boxcar Children had such a magical life. I still wish I could join them. Oh, to earn a livelihood by mowing lawns and scavenging in the toxin-free dump! What good fortune to find a good dog and a not-so-grumpy, generous grandfather. Children deserve to imagine such possibilities and to remember them in middle age.

Summary: This book was my inspiration to read.
Review: I can remember my first grade teacher reading this book to us. It was the main inspiration for my love of books. I read it to my children and have now given it as a gift to a friend's 4 year old son. He loves it after only one chapter.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: The Boxcar Children were orphans and lived in a boxcar.
Review: I loved this book because it was adventures. The children had to make it on their own. They used their recorces wisely by not wasting anything. They where smart children!!! They worked for their food and did not steal it. Those are some of my reasons I loved this book. Ms. Warner did a wonderful job on it!!!

Summary: An incredible journey
Review: I first read this story when I was about 8 years old and thought, "what a wonderful life these children are going to have." Coming from a rather poor background with way too many familial burdens for a young child, I could easily identify with Henry and did not find it unusual that these children had so many responsibilities at such a young age. This book would be a great reading for all of today's children who are prone to taking all in life for granted.

Summary: This book is super.
Review: Have you ever thought about running away? That's exactly what four kids had done. They ran away from their grandfather because he made them work for him which they hated. Will they ever go back to their grandfather again?

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: This is about four children who live alone in a boxcar.
Review: We liked the book because the children learned to take care of themselves in the woods. They made a home out of a boxcar which was part of an old train. To find things that they needed, they went to the dump. A doctor gave Henry a job picking cherries. The doctor let them stay at his house because Violet was sick...
