Summary: THIS IS GREAT!!!!!!!!
Review: If had the money I would produce the animation of these stories in their unabridged from just as these tapes are. I have just finished the 2nd in the series and have ordered the third. THESE ARE GREAT, exciting, well woven and masterfully written stories that need to be exposed to the world. I only wish I had the money to produce these stories in animated form, but i must be content in the fact that I can only buy these unabridged stories and enjoy them.

Review: Hey loki oh master of the English language its you're not your. Go back to high school, you moron. Anyway, needless to say, nothing in Wizard's First rule compares to confusing a contraction and a possessive adjective. Only morons do that.Great book by the way. Read it if you have an imgagination, if not there's a life for you somewhere. Probably on an assembly line in some dirty factory in a third world country.

Summary: Terry Goodkind presents an amazing epic for the whole family
Review: This, the first book in the series, is excellent. Although it has been a while since I've read this book it is still fresh in my mind. After reading this book I was compelled to search out the rest of the series. I was drawn in from the first moment. As I progressed in the book, it seemed like I became one with the characters. It even spurred me to continue a story of mine that was long forgotten. As of now I have just started reading Temple Of The Winds. I find myself reciting parts of the book and plot to my friends. I have even been calling my best friend of 12 years Kahlan, Richard Cypher's only love. I find myself dreaming that I am part of the book. Overall it is a very charming and exciting book. Someday I hope to be as good a writer as Terry Goodkind

Summary: Definitely not a "must read" but not an "ignore me" either.
Review: This book is decent, but I certainly don't care enough for these characters or this world to continue on with the series. The story line is not terribly engrossing, but it is good. I liked these people, but they are not as dynamic as I would have liked. However, I don't dismiss this book as being horrible. I think you need to read it for yourself, but I also think it will wet your appetite for something a bit deeper.

Summary: poorly written but excellent story
Review: I found Wizards First Rule most intriguing, but was annoyed with his patronizing style. For example he continually reminds us of previously described events. Also I did find him to borrow many of the themes and props from Robert Jordan's first book, for example the camouflaged cape. However I still feel Goodkind to be an excellent story teller and has a vivid imagination. In particular I found the graphic description of Richard's being tortured by Cara extemely moving. (S&M rules!)

Summary: This book is both imaginative and thought-provoking.
Review: I chanced upon this book in purchasing gifts for my daughters for Christmas. They so thouroughly enjoyed it that they insisted I read it as well. I was hooked from the first chapter. I loved each character and anxiously watched their development, Richard's simplicity,Zedd's rmarkable sense of humor, Kalhan's capacity for love, Chase's strength.etc. The concept of rules wizard's live by is a well thought-out idea. The first rule,that people are stupid is so simple yet so true. I have read the other books in the series as well and the other rules are equally as simple and true. The first story as well as the others entertained me thouroughly but I discovered that they didn't leave me even after reading them. They are stories I think about and often refer back to. I find myself thinking about the ideas the author has developed,the importance of each of us whatever our "gifts", discovering talents and developing them, the power of love,to name just a few. We all carry some fascination with magic, these books satisfy some of that longing. I can't wait to read the fifth book.

Summary: If You're Intelligent, You'll Like This Book
Review: It seems to me that there are two types of people reviewing this book, intelligent people and intellectuals.Wizard's First Rule, while not a clssic, is very engaging and has a lot of very interesting things to say about some very contemporary issues. Goodkind is most often successfull in his effort to take us somewhere and make us think. I've read classic fiction and classic fantasy and would reccomend this book highly to anyone who likes to either. However, if you don't like to think and just like to look down on others and if you get off mainly by feeling yourself to be more intellectual than the next guy, this book is not for you. In a nutshell, if you're intelligent and imaginative, give this book a try. If you're an intellectual, just go back to your Kierkegaard.

Summary: Goodkind got one thing right.
Review: Why is this book championed as 'quality' fantasy? Why are there so many five-star reviews on this page? Why are most of those reviews incomprehensible? Why do worthy authors languish in obscurity while a derivitive, stunningly bad hack such as this sells as much as he does? Why do people feel the need to claim this wandering drivel is superior to Tolkien? Easy. Goodkind wrote it himself: PEOPLE ARE STUPID. 'Nuff said.

Summary: Best book ever
Review: I never was really into fantasy, but when I started to read Goodkind's books I was hooked. The story grabs you and brings you along on the ride. It goes from adventure to romance. The characters become so real. You will never put the book down.
