Rating: Summary: Very entertaining, but definitely a first book Review: This book was recommended to me very highly by a number of people, so I decided to buy it. It was extremely entertaining and, while it is traditional fantasy (come on, why do people expect anything OTHER than cliches??), I thought it had some interesting original elements, such as the Confessors. There were things that were direct "quotes" from Robert Jordan--the Mord-Sith, anyone?--but on the whole, I found the characters engrossing and the book was a definite page-turner. I was somewhat disappointed with the skill of the writing, but concluded that it was a first book. Having read the second book in the series, I'm not so sure that it isn't just a flaw in Terry Goodkind's writing. I was completely taken in by the story, the romance, the danger, etc. but was surprised that there WAS a second book when everything was wrapped up so neatly at the end of this one. (Well, except for Richard and Kahlan, for which I was somewhat disappointed.) All in all, good for anyone who likes fantasy and isn't scared away by books longer than 500 pages.
Rating: Summary: Best book Ive ever read Review: you wont be able to put it down. Its better than Harry Potter or the Lord of the Rings combine. Overall, its awesome. Lots of action, and some interesting and complicated plot...

Rating: Summary: An Exellent Fantassy Book and Series Review: This is an exellent book that I would reccomend to anyone. I bought it at the urging of a friend two weeks ago, and I have since read every book in the series written to date. It is a great book, light enough for beach reading, yet deep enough to keep the reader involved. A compelling story and supurb writing combine to make a truly memorable reading experience.
Rating: Summary: Wizard's First Rule: You'll like it!! Review: My best friend, who is not as a connisseur of reading, told me that he had actually purchased the first 5 books of the Sword of Truth series. For someone who finds reading a "waste of time" actually read them in a relatively short time while bragging what great books they were. Personally, I love to read. However, I find that I must be captivated by the book's magic if I am to continue reading it. He lent me Wizard's First Rule. I finished it inside of 4 days. It was fantastic. Everyone has their own likes and dislikes. Goodkind appears to be a little rough around the edges with his style of writing. But isn't that what everyone said about Stephen King in the beginning? Goodkind is imaginative and sparks one's imagination to a point where you can feel yourself becoming involved. This eventually prevents you from putting the book down. Like anything else: give this book a shot. If you like it, read its sequel. 2 people with 2 totally unique views believe you will not be disappointed.
Rating: Summary: Non-stop action, You won't be able to put it down Review: THis book was awesome. Being the first in the Sword of Truthnovels, I was greatly pleased. He rolls through the book with a non-stop plot. He takes you from beginning to end without a pause, he gives you answers ahead of times, and then leaves clues till you figure it out. My friends loved this book, we were all vying for who got to read it next, for each of us kept rattling on about Richard, Zedd, Kahlan, and Darken Rahl. It was awesome!
Rating: Summary: THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST BOOKS I'VE READ! Review: I loved it the whole time I was reading it. I swear that it is one of the best books I have read. All through the book there was some kind of action going on, and it was a well written book. The way Richard and Kahlan met was a great idea to start a romance. The only thing I didnt like about this book was that I wish it was longer. I recomend that everybody reads it, they will get a major kick.
Rating: Summary: Good for a one time read Review: I liked the book based on pure entertainment value. Character development was a little weak, and plot a little too obvious. Not as captivating or creative as Donaldson, Feist, Jordan (who is meandering at the moment), Tolkien etc... But just entertaining. Much like D. Eddings' works being a good read (plots a little to obvious there too). This will be a series I read only once though.
Rating: Summary: Pretty good fantasy book Review: It was the first 800+ page book i could stomach (that includes Jordan's snoozefests.) I actually liked Richard Cypher/Rahl. Darken Rahl was like the Hannibalector of fantasy. The whole Michael betrayal thing was quite predictable, however, and the Mord-Sith deal went on for too long. Aside from that though, it was great. But did they have to have Nass eat his own sack?!?!
Rating: Summary: Simply put: Good stuff. Review: I enjoyed this book immensely. I liked the characters, I liked the story, and I liked Goodkind's style of writing. I agree with some of the detractors who say that lots of elements of the plot are predictable, but I think they're predictable in a good way. I didn't find myself going, "Oh, just get on with it. It's obvious that so-and-so means more harm than good, so just kill him or her." On the contrary, I found myself anticipating the reactions the characters would have when they found out what I already had guessed. As for the people that say that this is the worst piece of trash they've ever read, I give them 1 star. They sound like the same kind of people that bash Star Wars just because lots of people like it. The same kind of people that say that a movie sucks, even though they haven't seen it yet, just because it got good reviews. Not all popular books and movies are bad.
