Rating: Summary: A Tremendous Treasure Review: "Praying God's Word" by Beth Moore isn't necessarily a book you read...it's a book you USE!! I carry this book to work with me regularly and have it handy at home all the time. Her introductory words are uplifting and helpful. The scripture she chooses and the way she rephrases it into prayer gives me applicable words to work with as I bring my own struggles before the Lord. I am so thankful for Beth Moore and the many wonderful books and Bible Studies she has produced. As a teacher, I have done two of her studies so far and will begin another one this week for our ladies' class. I thank God for Beth Moore and the wisdom our Heavenly Father has instilled in her for teaching the Word.

Rating: Summary: An outstanding Scriptural Prayer reference! Review: Although I have read only 5 chapters(strongholds), I could not wait to share my review!...I have read many good books on prayer but this one outranks them all, and I have already begun recommending it to friends and family! I did not consider that the strongholds of Depression and Unbelief would apply to ME, but the depth with which each topic is covered makes each one, indeed, personal AND relevant....Praying these scriptures prepares one to readily enter into the presence of the LORD with one's OWN praise, contrition, thanksgiving, and petitions. To her own profoundly spiritual insights and experiences Beth Moore interjects quotations from other prominent authors, and even includes spaces for journaling, which complete this exceptional work. I will definitely look for and recommend Beth Moore's other books with confidence in her faithfulness to GOD, and to His WORD....
Rating: Summary: Daily Prayer for Parents Who Are Busy Review: Beth Moore's "Praying God's Word" is written for busy people who yearn for more intimacy with God, for a deeper and fuller spiritual life, yet are tied up in a life of knots. Moore helps us untie the knots with God's help through the Bible and through prayer. This book is for parents who are too busy to pray. You will find her written prayers a bit clumsy at first, then find joy in stepping along these well marked ancient paths back into the presence of the living God. For two other books for busy parents on family spirituality, look into THE FAMILY CLOISTER: BENEDICTINE WISDOM FOR THE HOME (Crossroad, 2000) and THE CHRISTIAN FAMILY TOOLBOX: 52 BENEDICTINE ACTIVITIES FOR THE HOME (Crossroad, 2001).

Rating: Summary: This is a must-have! Review: Ever been in the midst of prayer and unable to find a scripture to match the moment? This book is the cure. During seasons of "pruning" it is so important to have the Word to hold on to, but often it is hard to find that certain scripture. This book rides with me to work almost every day. When the day goes awry I take out the book and spend a few minutes during lunch praying through a few of the scripture prayer examples. They often take on new meaning during those times! I begin my afternoon refocused, comforted, and ready to face the truth. The only disadvantage of this book is that you may want to doggy-flap almost every page!

Rating: Summary: Only For Beginners At Best Review: Have you ever gone on one of those detox diets (or thought about it)? You know, the ones you buy in the health food store with cascara and burdock root and lots of aloe vera, etc? It sounds like not much fun, but the cleansing is definitely going to be worthwhile... Well, minus any discomfort (except for a lot of light, a lot of personal honesty, and a lot of tears when I see a place that has been full of cobwebs) that's what this book has become for me. I feel scrubbed clean and strong, and getting stronger. I am passionately praying the Scriptures each morning, a page a day, that she has listed about pride, unbelief, idolatry, feeling loved, food strongholds, and others, and I am amazed at how energized and strengthened I am. Grace pours in as I humble myself, repenting as I see the pride or unbelief or deception that I want no part of in my life, and worship is coming alive more than ever. Old, dusty strongholds are being torn down. Light is coming in. I am starting to feel like a new "new creation" as old layers are being stripped away and my mind is being renewed. This is another one of those books that I wish I could give to lots of friends and see them come on the exciting, joyful journey that God has given to me right now. Revival is a gift from God, and this book, through Beth Moore, is a deep joy and a pure flame, Biblical organic "food" of the highest quality, well worth your heartfelt attention and response. Look out, Popeye! :)
