Rating: Summary: I'll take the show over the book any day Review: When I read a book of someone's opinions I don't judge the author on what he believes but how well he says it. Even if you hate the author completely and can't stand a single thing he says, at least you hope to read about important issues and think of them in a different light. I like Bill O'Reilly, and agree with 99% of the things he says, but that wasn't good enough to save this book. Half of the material in it is menial drivel - Rice Cakes? TV Weatherpeople?... Groan. Like the show, this book is basically male barber shop gossip which can swing towards meanless bunk just as easily as national issues. O'Reilly defends his cockiness just as much as he talks about marriage and politics, and his hypocrisies are unbelievable: "I'm not going to brag about my exploits with women" and then he does just that! But it was the book's ending in which Bill let me down, in which he lays out "all that is good in life and America," and it is basically a list of celebrities and a few movies (right after he complains that we give celebrities too much importance. Way to go, Bill! So this is your take on eternity?)
Rating: Summary: A Best Seller for a Reason Review: Bill O'Reilly says he is on a jihad against the media and political elites in America who represent the powerful rather than those who work hard and pay taxes. This book takes on anyone who O'Reilly believes isn't representing all Americans. You won't agree with everything he says, but he will make you angry and he will make you think. This book is a best seller for a reason--it is interesting and easy to read. Highly recommended.
Rating: Summary: Alright book from O' Reilly Review: This is a very good political book. I enjoy watching his talk shows, especially during when the elections were going on. This book is great. It discusses current issues like sex, drugs, parents, etc. But the book gets a bit old after awhile because O'Reilly is so arrogant, claiming so on and so forth how he is the greatest reporter alive. After about 10 chapters, i was pretty burnt out from reading it. but it does have some good material and points out some good things, and bashes people like Jesse Jackson and Hillary Clinton. I reccomend this book if you like his talk show or show an interest in the politcal field. otherwise, stay away from it.
Rating: Summary: A breath of fresh air... Review: Bill O'Reilly, the man, they myth, the legend has hit a home run with "The O'Reilly Factor." With a format not dissimilar to his tv show, O'Reilly rants about different facets of the American experience. He is often enlightening, somewhat cocky, and always entertaining...I love it! On the political spectrum, O'Reilly is all over the place, and in the end, stands with the truth. He is not confined by a narrow ideology, and this comes out from chapter to chapter. It is a nice change of pace from the typical ultra-liberal appeal or the knee-jerk conservative response. Here's hoping he writes a sequel!
Rating: Summary: Funny, common sense approach news Review: A very entertaining read. O'Reilly's common sense, ordinary guy approach to life is a refreshing change from the usual blow-dried media types. Full of entertaining stories about O'Reilly's experiences in network news, run ins with celebrites, and so forth. And of course his opinions on current policy issues. Good book...I recommend it.
Rating: Summary: Author of $oft Money says: I loved this book.... Review: I just finished this book over the weekend. This is a must read for parents, children, everyone. It also serves as a wake-up call to all the politicos and elitists that have laid waste to this country. Mr. O`Reilly is watching, and willing to expose the truth. No matter what you political affiliation, read this with an open mind, and then ask yourself, is this fact or is this fiction? I say it is fact, that is my no spin zone opinion, now you decide.
Rating: Summary: Love the Show, but this book is ebay fodder. Review: I love "The Factor" and O'Reilly's in your face "factor this" style, but this book left me hanging. I was under the delusion that this book would talk about politics and current issues of the day. But this book seems to be confused in its focus. At times it is biographical giving details of his work history, and his upbringing, which to be honest I found the first chapters of this book to be depressing. Then it drifts off into what I guess is suppossed to be issues, but he really takes no stand either way. His chapter on Religion is the most wishy washy hogwash I've ever seen. And finally this book ends with a high school like who's cool and who's not list. Which includes everyone from Madonna to The Grateful Dead. Anyway I'll stick to the show which is definately more exciting than this book which I have determined will become what I call ebay fodder.
Rating: Summary: Amazing, Excellent, Wonderful, FINALLY!!! Review: Folks, you MUST read this book. I'm amazed that finally someone speaks out TRUTH about the society that we live in today. It's amazing how many people are gullable followers in politics today. Bill O'Reilly puts everything on the table in this book and on his show. He has a very straight forward, no BS approached to confronting the powers that be in government, society, religion, and other special interests organizations. ............... I strongly suggest that anyone and everyone read this book to get an "open eyed" view of things AS THEY REALLY ARE. Bill O'Reilly takes viewer/readers email and would appreciate any comments that you may have. ............... It should be very obvious from the fact that there are almost 200 reviews written of this book that it should be read. Several of the reviews are negative, but most are positive. The controversy just fuels the fire of publicity, however, dispite that fact, I strongly recommend reading the book. See the Light!
Rating: Summary: Excellent Read! Review: O'Reilly talks from heart, just as he does nightly in his television show by the same name as his book. He tells it like it is, which you don't get in many other news programs, and he continues to tell it like it is in his book. I enjoyed it cover to cover and agreed with 90% of what he had to say. Short chapters makes it easy to read a little and then go back for more later. Maybe if we all wrote our Senators and Representatives and made O'Reilly suggested ready for them, our country might be in better shape!
Rating: Summary: As good as the show! Review: I enjoyed the book as much as I like the show.
