Summary: The O'Reilly Factor (book on tape)
Review: The O'Reilly Factor (Book on tape)
By Bill O'Reilly

When my mom threw the O'Reilly Factor on my bed one Monday and told me that I had to read it before the week was over, the first thing that came to my mind was, "Why me? I don't even like politics!"

When I read the O'Reilly Factor it caused me to think and made me more interested in politics. He gives his full opinion and doesn't hold back anything. He doesn't force his opinion on you, but most of the things that he speaks about really seem to open your eyes and give you better insight on all the things going on in the world. He talks about his childhood as well as his college years and about his parents' in the life and times of the 60s.

From the politicians at the White House, to celebrities, to rice cakes, to racism-- this is the best reading material since the Bible. O'Reilly is not pessimistic but shows you both sides of the story and doesn't attack anyone unless he has a reason to. He sticks up for what's right no matter what it is, wants the people's opinions, and makes their voices heard.

While my opinion differed slightly from O'Reilly's, most of what he said I agreed with in whole. As a seventeen year old senior, I think that every high school student should be required to read (or listen) to this book. And as for me, I can't wait for the next one!

I give this book ***** stars and recommend it for ages 14 and up.

Summary: You do me a big favor, O'Reilly
Review: O'Reilly, O'Reilly, O'Reilly!
What can I add to the cacophony of voices that praise and curse him, that honor and disgrace him?
I appreciate the searing honesty of his book. Like a hot knife through butter, this book tells you what you already kind of knew, but were never willing to recognize and develop.
In the hum drum roll of life, in America, common folk like me tend to get their brains hammered into mush by the ebb and flow of life. Taxes, vacations, cds, latte, etc etc. All one pleasant blur with an afterthought of worry.
But what is really going on in here, and out there?
O'Reilly will tell you in a raw and almost painful manner. You will be embarrased to recognize your lack of self-congnizance, your inability to connect the dots.
I am going to read his current book released at the end of 2001. I just hope he keeps it real. I have placed some level of faith in O'Reilly to guide folks towards the 'brave new' world ahead, as a voice of reason and hope, or ethics and common sense.

Summary: A breath of fresh air
Review: No, Bill O'Reilly may not be perfect, and he may not be polite (at least not all the time), but at least he is honest. We are at a time when we all need to be honest and say things like HEY, public aid isn't working, politics is broken with a bunch of self serving rich lawyers (who really care very little about the middle or lower class), and the supposed charity system also isn't what it seems.

O'Reilly cuts beyond the usual rhetoric that we are blasted with every day and gives us some hard facts. I also liked that the facts are usually backed up by numbers. Yes, this book has a great deal to do with O'Reilly's opinions on the subjects he deals with, but at least it is an informed opinion, and not a bunch of self-serving bull hockey. I appreciate that.

Thanks Mr. O'Reilly, and keep up the good work.

Summary: What are you naysayers talking about
Review: You people who bag Bill O'Reilly and his books are making comments based purely on this person and his views. 'll bet you lunch you never got past the front cover of the book.

Shame Shame. The books are well worth reading. Don't be afraid to read the book(s) you might learn something. It is nice to hae someone who shoots from the hip and is not afraid to say whats on his mind. Love him or hate him you need to respect him.

Summary: A Voice of Common Sense in a Sea of Political Fanatics
Review: Maybe I'm just an average middle-aged American that grew up in a middle-class suburban family like Bill O'Reilly, but this book strikes a chord of just plain common sense with a dose of strong opinions added in for flavor. Unlike most politically-motivated intellectuals, O'Reilly just states his opinions honestly - like it or not. I don't believe he has an agenda, other than to sell his nightly show on Fox News or to sell this book. Although he is labeled a "right-winger" by his many critics, I believe anyone who really listens will hear a voice of reason based on strong moral values and old-fashioned common sense. If you watch the nightly show, then please read this book!

Summary: A Little Goes a Long Way
Review: Most folks love Bill O'Reilly or hate him. I fit both categories, actually. I appreciate his willingness to pepper both sides with tough questions, something the mainstream media is less and less inclined to do these days. He's a bright, intelligent, articulate man with a sharp wit and is always knowledgable about his guests and topics, but his self-important behavior on camera grows tiresome pretty quickly. This book is just like his FOX program in that respect, and what stands out after a while is a clear resentment and jealousy of those with money. O'Reilly diehards will love this stuff, as will anyone who hates the mainstream broadcast networks for going soft on folks like Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton and Hillary Clinton. But what I'm left with after all the hot air is that Bill O'Reilly really likes to hear himself talk.

Summary: Gets Many Big Things Right--But Revolution Fizzles
Review:
This is a really great book with 20 short chapters that span the full range of American life from class, money, and sex to politics, race, religion and personal relations.

There are some really sharp insights here, and a fundamental honesty, that should inspire the majority of voters--those who earn an honest wage and go about their business while being polite to others.

Best of all, O'Reilly has beat the media system and earned the power to tell it as he sees it, without bowing to the censorship that characterizes most news programs today, obsessed as they are with entertainment.

There is a down side--this one man show is just that, and both his own Republican party as well as the Democratic party have both sold out to class, corporate money, and a status quo that has the average tax payer paying for all the perks at the top.

There is a lot of beef to O'Reilly, but as one who agrees with most of what is on his mind, I am left with the unanswered question: where's the revolution? Where are campaign finance reform and a massive turn-out of voters able to take back the government and bring common sense back into government?

O'Reilly talks a good show, let's see if he can take it to the next level and start both a web site and a popular reform movement.

Summary: A great read
Review: A great book. If you like his show, The O'Reilly Factor on Fox News Channel you'll love his book. Even if you don't watch the show, it's worth reading. He is truely a fairminded individual who truely cares about the American people and trying to inform them of things happening in the political world as well as other happenings in the world. You may not agree with every single thing in the book, but I did agree is 98% of it. He is blunt, straight forward, and to the point. He doesn't mince words. I respect people like that.

Summary: Good Read
Review: I find Bill O'Reilly to be a pragmatist and a man with a strong sense of ethics and fairness. He is not an arch-conservative nor ultra-liberal and is very blunt and refreshing. His contempt for the Clintons which is replete in the book is much more about honesty and the way they "spin" than their political views; the book is an entertaining read that is traditional and progressive at the same time.
