Rating: Summary: For a select few Review: Let me say right off the bat that this book is defanitly not for everyone. If you can't stand Bill O'Reilly on TV, save your money. Mr. O'Reilly's book gives a very detaliled description of what he thinks is wrong with our country. He goes into depth about his childhood, and how parents and the schools are failing. He also discusses other topics ranging from criminal justice, to good things in our country. The only thing I didn't like about the book, is his talk-down writing style. Like I said above, if you con't stand him on TV don't get the book.
Rating: Summary: Great God, I Agree With Him! Review: I picked up this book ready to be mocked and offended on each page. Instead, I was exposed to one simple and blatantly told truth right after the other. This is the kinda guy I'd like to sit down with for a cup of coffee! His views on sex, celebrities, politics, religion, etc., are indispensable revelations which appeal even to one's funny bone. This is not a book though, for either liberal nor far-right conservatives. O'Reilly tells it like it is, and does so in a critical manner which will push the buttons of zealots from both these groups. Nonetheless, buy, read, and enjoy!
Rating: Summary: Excellent reading Review: This book gives you a different point of view. It let's you see the other side of the media frenzy in this country from another angle. Most news agencies just copy each other's stories and tell you what you want too hear. No one ever asks questions like Bill O'Reilly. He puts people of all polictical parties on the spot.
Rating: Summary: Classic O'Reilly Review: Fans of the "Factor" on Fox News Channel will feel right at home with this book. Bill's common-sense, no holds barred approach to a variety of questions in modern America ring true in this his first book.
Rating: Summary: amazing Review: Bill O'Reilly is the best man on television today. He is always fair and loves what he does. This book is my favorite book and I am reading the "No Spin Zone" as of right now and that one two is excellent. I am only 14 years old and I think that this book is amazing for anybody that likes their news fair and balanced. Bill tells it like it is. If you like people like Jesse Jackson or Martha Stewart, this book is probably not for you. He reveals all the problems in today's world, but also shows you what is good. With his great since of humor, this book never gets old. I recommend this book to his fans and the people that dispise him.
Rating: Summary: Great motivational book for all ages Review: O'Reilly is the feisty, facts oriented news commentator on Fox New Channel (cable TV). He is one of the few, besides Rush Limbaugh, that actually force Democrats to use facts related to their positions, or shut up. They consider him conservative, but he really demands factual info, and not "spin" from both conservatives and liberals, which always makes the liberals look bad.
Rating: Summary: Mein Factor Review: A fascinating translation, I'm sure for those not familiar with the original "Mein Kampf." One can't help but wonder though, how O'Reilly got around the copyright laws, which extend until 70 years after the death of the original author. Don't Hitler's heirs own all rights to this thing until 2015? There is nothing new here but a cynical twist on what the author has rightly divined the American public will swallow. It is presumption, effrontery and dogmatism. Boiled down to its essence it is crystalized little lumps of nonsense; imbecility purged of it's customary dross. When all is said and done, this is a harmless fraud perpetrated on a gullible public.
Rating: Summary: Has it's pros and cons Review: Mr. O'Reilly's book is certainly replete with his definitive opinions. It is a fascinating book and altogether not a bad read. At times one wonders if he ever has any ambivelance about anything; his stubborn opinions, didactic at times, can be somewhat vexxing, but the stories are entertaining. There is a rule that when you are speaking or writing for the general public, you write at about a sixth grade level to encompass a broader spectrum of readers and Mr. O'Reilly certainly does this. As one reviewer said, the show is better. I also have to disagree with his judgment of Martha Stewart. Yes, she has expensive lines of items, but anyone who can create a large corporation from a small catering business as a single mom has earned my respect. If you are a die-hard liberal, this book may not be for you unless you have the capacity to acknowledge and respect different views that are between moderate and conservative (while disagreeing, of course). Any moderate or conservative would find this an interesting read.
Rating: Summary: very thin book Review: You won't get a lot of reading out of this bookette. At just over 200 pages it doesn't justify the price. But on to the minimal content,O'Reilly is supposed to be amusing and insightful, but this book doesn't give much evidence of either.Basically banal,a mile wide and an inch deep, the book is an ode to irrelevence and someone cashing in on their 15 minutes of fame. His observations of class, politics and the like are pretty much on the mark, but he reveals absolutely nothing we didn't already know.It is a fairly enjoyable read but not anything worth reading twice.
Rating: Summary: A MUST READ FOR EVERY AMERICAN Review: Whether you are Republican or Democrat, liberal or conservative, this book will speak to you. I agree that every American should read this important book. It will give you new insights into how life really works. It would make a super gift for graduation, as kids go out into the 'real world'
