Summary: Another Great one for BIllie Letts
Review: This is exactlythe type of book I love to read. Books about nothing, Nothing in particular. No deep mushy love stories, no great mysteries. You'll laugh out loud. I can't wait for her next book. TWO thumbs up!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Great characters and a wonderful story
Review: You'll like this book if you like stories about ordinary people that are far from ordinary. I read this in one sitting. You laugh and cry at the same time. A Great Read! Try it.

Summary: Thank you again Billie Letts for a lovely story......
Review: Billie Letts has proven again that there are many definitions of family. A truly enjoyable and heart warming story. I look forward to #3.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Poignant and charming story with real-life characters
Review: Happy discovery at a book table with the Honk and Holler Cafe Opening Soon. What a delightful read. Billie Letts understands about people and the down-to-earthness of the midwest. The ending was expected with the main characters, but I was rooting for them. Can't hardly wait for her next book.

Summary: Just as great as the first book, but more enjoyable!
Review: I really enjoyed "The Honk and Holler". I was pleasently surprised to find that I like this book better than "Where the Heart Is." The characters were very likeable and you really fell into their lives in their small town. You can identify with at least one character and match the others up with people in your town. This book is not intensely thought provoking nor too serious and drawn out. It wasn't intended to be a book that leaves you questioning the story and feeling depressed. So,if you are looking for a relaxing, easy going, and very entertaining book, this is it!! I love Billie Letts' style and look forward to the next book.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: I read it straight through in about 4 hours!
Review: Once I started it I couldn't put it down....it was very easy reading. I have read Places in the Heart and find her writing endearing. You really get involved in the different characters and I was truly concerned about what happened to them! What an eclectic group of characters!

Summary: enjoyable
Review: I am looking forward to billie letts' next book. I enjoyed "the honk" as much as "where the heart is." Her writing style is enjoyable, and her characters are endearing and so real.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: I loved the characters in this story
Review: I found The Honk and Holler Opening Soon to be a very charming book. I love the character development in Billie Letts' novels. I hope she has a new one soon.

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: Unforgettable characters in a rather stilted plot
Review: Ms. Letts draws some truly funny, unique characters in this story, and offers a straight look at the workings of a small town diner, but the story really felt like a neatly-tied soap opera. Though I loved the characters, and some of their moments made me laugh out loud, their fates seemed so predictable and cheesy. This is an engrossing book, I read it on a plane, and it kept me occupied and interested. I just wish she had applied some of the originality she found for her characters to the story. They deserved better than the canned, corny ending.
