Rating: Summary: Great Book! Review: I loved The Face of Deception, just as I love The Killing Game! It was so interesting that I could not put it down! Actually, I was quite disappointed that it was finished. I really admire and respect the characters of Eve Duncan and Joe Quinn. I don't know if Ms. Johansen has any more installments planned, but if she does, you can bet that I'll be among the first to get it!!!!
Rating: Summary: Awesome read!! Review: After reading Face of Deception and hearing about an upcoming sequel, I couldn't wait! The Killing Game, however, was definitely worth the wait. I thought I had it all figured out towards the end, but Johansen did a great job of twisting everything around catching me way of guard. The only thing I didn't like was reading it so fast, now I have to wait again for another awesome read!
Rating: Summary: Wonderfull! Review: The book, The Killing Game, was one of the best I have ever read. I hope Iris Johansen makes a sequile with Eve and Joe. It kept me on my toes the whole time. Its one of those books where you think you know who did it, but it turns out your wrong. You cant guess it. The book even cleared up the whole reason for Joe to be with Eve through it all. I loved it!! I read it in one day. I couldnt put it down.
Rating: Summary: She's top notch-again! Review: All her stories are very good. I don't know how she continues to go one notch better, but she does. Read all her works, they are worth it.
Rating: Summary: A great read! Review: I really love these Eve Duncan books. It's understandable why Eve has had such a tough time hooking up with Joe. Her daughter was murdered after all. She's a way cool character. She's smart and strong (I really hate it when a heroine is whiny, don't you?). This is a really good suspense novel and I'll buy the next one the minute it come's out. Because I couldn't put it down, I read it in half a day so it's kind of expensive at only around 350 pp. Keep it up Iris!
Rating: Summary: All angst, all the time Review: It's time for Eve to move on. Bonnie has been dead for 13 years - get over it! The fawning attention she receives at the hands of the male characters Quinn and Logan borders on nausea. Their concern for her health, eating habits, sleep quota, etc. consumes far too much of this "been there, done that" plot. There is nothing fresh or new and the main character Eve seems to be caught in an endless cycle of sameness. If you have read one of Johansen's books, it appears you have read them all.
Rating: Summary: Please--no more Eve Duncan books! Review: This will be the last Iris Johansen book I'll ever read. The author undoubtably has some serious issues with male-female relationships. Eve Duncan is what my late husband called a p---- teaser. At least Johansen is good at character development. She makes Eve so stubborn, willful and downright obnoxious I just want to throttle her. The constant petty bickering between her and both John Logan and Joe Quinn is so annoying I wanted to scream! How can anyone enjoy a book when the main character, the heroine, is so despicable? All the arguing, etc., completely destroyed any enjoyment of the story for me. Do us a favor, Ms. Johansen, don't bring Eve Duncan back for another encore.
Rating: Summary: Great Read Review: I have been reading Johansen since she wote romances for Loveswept nd I have all her books. Read and loved Eye of Deception and ordered this book before it was released. Loved it and hope she writes more sequels. Read this book in one day.
Rating: Summary: AWSOME BOOK Review: This is a great book, if you read and didn't like "The face of deception" which came before this book, don't let that not let you read it. ( I did like that book though, but you don't have to read it first to know what is happening, although it does explain a few things, ) I loved this book though, and there are a few that go after it, Body of lies, The search, Dead aim (Has a few of the same characters), no one to trust (also some of the same characters) and Blind alley, which wasn't as good as the other ones. I think there was another one that has some of the same characters again, but I can't think of it.
Rating: Summary: FANTASTIC!!!! Review: I NEVER READ NOVELS UNTIL MY SON WAS IN THE HOSPITAL FOR 3 WEEKS. I HAD READ ALL THE MAGAZINES AND WAS BORED, SO I WENT TO THE GIFT SHOP AND LOOKED FOR SOMETHING THAT CAUGHT MY EYE. I WASN'T SURE IF I COULD READ ABOUT A SERIAL KILLER WHO PREYED ON CHILDREN, BUT IT TURNED OUT TO BE SO MUCH MORE.
I WAS HOOKED FROM THE BEGINNING AND COULDN'T PUT IT DOWN. THAT WAS FOUR YEARS AGO AND NOW I READ EVERYTHING I CAN FIND. THIS BOOK STILL REMAINS MY ALL TIME FAVORITE. I HAVE SEARCHED FOR ANOTHER BOOK AS WELL WRITTEN AND HAVE COME SHY MANY TIMES. I LOVE THE TWISTS THAT IRIS JOHANSEN USES. I ALMOST ALWAYS FIGURE OUT WHO THE KILLER IS, BUT NOT "THE KILLING GAME."
I ONLY WISH I WOULD HAVE KNOWN THAT THIS BOOK WAS THE SECOND IN A WHOLE SERIES BY IRIS JOHANSEN. IT DIDN'T MAKE ANY DIFFERENCE WHEN I WAS READING IT, BUT GOING BACK TO READ "FACE OF DECEPTION" WASN'T NEARLY AS GOOD AS IT COULD HAVE BEEN BECAUSE I ALREADY KNEW HOW THINGS TURNED OUT. I REALLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK. IT IS SURE TO SURPRISE YOU.
