Rating: Summary: Understanding Death Review: I've lost two friends both in car accidents and I could never undestand why God had to take them away from me. I was very depressed and had a hard time dealing with it. I still have my days but after reading this book I now have a clear understanding of death and what heaven is like. Thank you so much for writing this book Sylvia. I know you're here to help people and you've done just that. Jason died almost two years ago and it just seems like yesterday when I last saw his sweet smile. I know that both of my friends are in a better place now looking down on my from above. I can't wait to be there with them. They'll never be forgotten and I'll love them forever.
Rating: Summary: One star is one too many Review: I found this book thoroughly disappointing. It was redundant and self-serving - 'check on it.' Also, if her best examples of her psychic powers are described in the book, I have to say, they are not impressive in the least. Sylvia Browne is always telling people to check on her accuracy but her leads are impossible to follow up on and she keeps things general enough to prevent accurate validation. She is rarely consistent in anything she says; for instance she talks about Francine in her book, yet stated on Montel that she does not talk to spirit guides. She also said that everyone 'on the other side' is thirty, yet minutes later she is describing a child spirit who is bothering someone. And what is this 'not knowing you're dead for a year' stuff? Aren't there any helpful spirits over there to inform the deceased that they have passed over? I think it is horrible how Sylvia shocks people with terrible news about loved ones (i.e; they are dead somewhere), then smiles, tells a joke or two and moves on to the next victim. I would like to know if any of these supposedly dead people have ever resurfaced?!? Sylvia mentions her son Chris in her book with great affection but barely mentions her second son, and doesn't have much to say about her mother either. I think the Browne family could use some serious counseling. This book did not make me a Sylvia Browne fan. Instead, it made me discount everything she says from now on. Anyone who pays her 400.00 for a reading is desperate indeed. Sylvia may say she is like an emergency room medic 'patching people up and sending them on their way' but I find her callous and cruel with no concern or compassion for those who seek her help and guidance. People would be well advised to look elsewhere - ANYWHERE else.

Rating: Summary: Helped me understand the tragedy of a lifetime Review: About 2 1/2 weeks ago, I had been reading "Adventures of a Psychic" for about a week when I got to the part where Francine was describing blueprints, how are lives are mapped out for us, and how tragadies are meant to make survivors stronger when my world came crashing down on me. My best friend's fiance, and a good friend to me was killed in a horrific car crash in front of the place where me and my best freind work. "Why?" she kept asking me. I was able to use the knowledge I gained from Sylvia's book to try and soothe her aching heart. While we all have a long road to recovery ahead of us, Sylvia is going to make that journey a little more bearable. I am almost through with the book and am going to give it to my best friend in hopes that the knowledge it has taken Sylvia a lifetime to gain will comfort my friend a little. I am anxiously awaiting her new book and hope that it is as insightful as the last.
Rating: Summary: I have stopped searching Review: I have searched for the meaning of life, and Sylvia has answered all my questions. Please read and be renewed.

Rating: Summary: Amazing stories for those who believe Review: Sylvia displays her talent through the words of this book. Not only does it give in great detail her experiences as a psychic but it also dwells in a little on the personal side of her, and leaves you with a sense that you almost know her. This book is for anyone who loves to laugh, cry, or to even just be amazed..........
Rating: Summary: Sylvia Browne provides believable answers to big questions. Review: Sylvia Browne's "would-be debunker-reviewers" in this group consistently focus on peripheral issues (such as her motives), rather than on the central issues of this book. Clearly, the lady provides us with logical explanations for the worlds great mysteries. I'm a skeptic, but I'm convinced Sylvia Browne is a truthsayer. Read it.
Rating: Summary: Inspiring!! Thank you Sylvia for being you! Review: I would like to thank Ms Browne for opening my mind to truth. The second coming of her book really opened my mind to new thoughts and questions. We need more people in our world like Sylvia who encourage us to ask questions, use our minds, and seek the truth. I read this book when it first came out under a different title. "MY Guide, Myself," written by Sylvia Brown. This newly packaged and polished version has a new title, an addition of one chapter, ( I suppose a retrospect of the past 10 years) and an addition of an "e" in Ms. Brown's (or shall I say Ms. BrownE's) name. I guess only God and her publicist know the reason for that. Which is my first question. Why the "E"? While it was an interesting glimpse into Ms. Brown's personal history, I didn't see any extraordinary situations in her life, aside from her psychic ability. What she claims to be hardship would be in her own word's "a hang nail compared to a broken back" I see what Ms. Brown has shared with us as less then a hang nail. Hopefully in her next book she will open up and really reveal the hardships of her life. I recognize the author as a multifaceted individual who at this point is only showing us the tip of the iceberg. Please Ms. Brown give us more of your true self. As a person who also encourages others to use one's own intellect and stay true to one's truth, I am encouraging everyone to read this book and ask questions. Not only of your own spirituality and your own truth, but the truth behind the pages of this gifted, charismatic, spiritual teacher. The questions I have, since rereading the book and the additional last chapter are: If the author is against the Dial a psychic hot lines because they take advantage of poor women in the South, why in God's holy name is she charging six hundred dollars for a twenty to thirty minute reading? Why does the author charge seven hundred dollars to just the people in New York, and less to everyone else? Isn't there a law against that? What makes charging twenty-five to thirty dollars a minute for a reading any more humane then charging three to four dollars a minute? I would also like to know if the Society of Novus Spiritus has performed studies on the demographics of the people who pay for readings from Ms. Brown? What is the Authors criteria for weeding out the poor disadvantaged souls desperate for answers who are willing to forego rent or food to get a reading from this highly gifted psychic? It would have been nice to have these answers included in your book. I also want to comment on what I consider to be a display of total insensitivity on the part of the author in adding the additional chapter. While she mentioned she was supporting twelve members of her staff and fifty ministers, and lives in a constant state of thankfulness - what possessed Ms Brown to omit a thank you to the countless people who have stood by her side, toiled extreme amounts of hours, made Sylvia's organization their number one priority, have been her back bone and support for this "magnificent obsession" for years? For a spiritual Society whose motto is "loyalty, gratitude and commitment," shame on you Sylvia, for such a blatant oversight to the people who are supporting you. Hopefully in your new book which I cannot wait to read, you have taken care of this tremendous omission. Thank you for your gift. May you continue to help others on their journey of truth and enlightenment. You have definitely helped me. Please continue to send your message of love, truth, using ones mind, to be a leader, and question all things that do not ring true to our hearts. And most importantly to walk the talk! Bless You!
