Rating: Summary: Entertaining. Religion Hollywood style. Review: The gullible public will love this book. Sylvia makes death seem like a Hollywood happy ending. Sex on the other side is 100 times better than a human orgasm without the mess. Sylvia is as infallible as the pope and even starts her own religion. Just think: when we die, we all turn 30 years old and get to choose the body we want for eternity. Now that's heaven. We also learn that there are really only two competent psychics in the world: Sylvia who charges $600 for a half hour on the phone and her son who charges a mere $300 for the same service. What a bargain! I'm giving gift certificates to all my friends. The author of this book has figured out what the American public wants to believe about death and the afterlife and how to relieve that same public of a chunk of their hard-earned money. In the book she says she generously gives time to police to help solve crimes and find missing persons. On her website, she writes that she no longer has time for such generous activities, so you shouldn't bother her if a loved one is missing. Sylvia herself comes across as a shallow woman obsessed with finding herself the right hunk to marry (but unfornately picking one lousy man after another). If only she had consulted a psychic early on(or better yet a therapist) and spared us the details of her dysfunctional family life.
Rating: Summary: The first book held my interest totally - excellent. Review: It explained so many things. I thought it was excellent
Rating: Summary: Sylvia is the real thing Review: As I am a practicing psychic, and been doing this as a living for 20 plus years, I feel qualified to support the legitimacy of Sylvia. I find her to not only be psychic, but down to earth and truthful. As I have also experienced, people often attempt to understand the psychic realm through analytical criteria. It's simply not possible. It's like describing an apple by viewing an orange. I found Sylvia's book to be inspiring, born from truth and a real sharing of her perception of spirituality. Although some details differ with my spiritual vision, I find her to be an excellent source for psychic and spiritual information.
Rating: Summary: THIS BOOK CHANGED MY LIFE!!!!!!!!! Review: This book A total awakening for me. I've always thoughtabout people who knew the future as just all knowing. but Ms browneis truly that and much more. she is a wonderful, caring, and spiritual being.
Rating: Summary: couldn't put it down Review: sylvia's book is very informative and her sense of humor is great. i was impressed with how many difficulties that she has had to over come in her personal life. she answeres a lot of questions and her answers fit, they make sense. i was unable to put it down once i statred reading it.
Rating: Summary: EXCELLENT BOOK Review: I just finished reading it, and I must say it was the best book of it's type that I've ever read. I really enjoy Sylvia's good humor as well as her insights into the psychic world. Her investigation of the Toys 'R Us Store brought back memories of when I saw it on That's Incredible so many years ago (before I even knew who she was). It reallywas just as it was described with many witnesses and two cameras (one regular and & infrared running simultaneously) & showing the ghostly image frame by frame alongside what the regular one was recording. By the way someone mentioned one of her predictions was that JFK, Jr.'s wife would get pregnant in '97. Well she did get pregnant, she just miscarried! Nobody on earth is perfect - only God - & if one is looking for a savior, Sylvia isn't it & never claimed to be.
Rating: Summary: Inspiring, Best book of the year Review: This is the perfect book for Sylvia fans of those who have just heard of her. This book makes you fall in love with her to mommet you open the cover. It is by far the best book I have read this year or ever the best book I have read period. You just have to read this book. I love ya Sylvia.
Rating: Summary: Interesting but unbelieveable Review: I've seen Silvia on Montel a couple of times and decided to read her book, this is the first and only book I've ever read by Silvia by the way. I found it very interesting but when I came to the section where she had decided that today's religion was out of date, so she started her own religion,(that is when I threw the book out in the trash.) If you want to know the truth, just open the good book, it's right there in black and white. I love the way people just change things so that it fits what they want to believe. Don't go looking for some psyhic to give you all the answeres. I looked up Slyvia's predictions online and found a lot that didn't come true. That was all I needed to know. I believe we all have powers we haven't begun to tap into but I also believe we need to use common sense here as well. I give this book one two stars for interesting yet unbelieveable.
Rating: Summary: an eye opener as well as a mind opener! Review: The book is just the book for people who have always thought, but could never say what they believed. It turned out to be quite an easy book to read, it was as if she were telling the story in person. I thought I would not be able to relate, but found there were some things I had in common with her experiences. With her next book, I am looking forward to learning and practicing all the new experiences that are ahead of us!?!
Rating: Summary: It's the same book!?? Review: I have to agree with the reader from Florida that this is the same as the original. I was supicious of this as I looked through it at the book store. The only thing new appeared to be the last few pages of the book--and that could be read in the bookstore in a few minutes. While I believe that Sylvia has a good book and is likely a good psychic, I don't believe that she is the best in the world. Has anyone ever looked at her predictions on her website? Many have yet to come true and some will prove impossible. For example, she predicts in the '97 or '96 predictions that JFKjr and wife would be expecting a baby. Doesn't look like it now.
