Summary: Fascinating!!!!!
Review: This is the first of Ms. Browne's books that I have read. I stayed glued to each and every page. Wanted it to go on longer. In my life time, I have had a few things happen that I would classify as odd but they were true. The biggest thing that I have happened is when my oldest daughter was 7 yrs old (she's now 29)I could visualize seeing her with a cast on her right arm. I had no explanation or reason as to why thid was happening. It became very scary to me. At the time my husband was in the NAVY and stationed in Key West, Florida. This vision kept coming to me again and again and again. Finally one day I got a call from the elementary school where my daughter attended the first grade. They told me that she had fallen off of the monkey bars and sprained her arm. At that time, I could hear her screaming/crying in the background. I said no, she has broken her arm-of course they disagreed with me and I again told them that she had fractured her arm. I then told them that I was on my way over there to take her to the doctor. I told them to make sure they had a splint on her arm. When I had arrived, no splint or ice pack had been applied to her arm. So, I made them give me something to splint her arm with. They weren't really concerned so I said fine and gathered her arm up in a pillow (which I had to sign in blood that I would return)to where she could not move her arm and got her into the car and headed to the hospital. After x-rays and a shot of pain medication, I was told that she had indeed broken the upper bone of her right arm in the growth area. With that diagnosis, I really began to think that I was going crazy-visually seeing in my mind what had happened 3 weeks before it had happened.

After having read this book, I discovered that it was not such a weird occurance afterall. It took me 2 days to read this book. I wish it had been much longer. Well worth the time to read.

Summary: Very Inspiring
Review: I loved reading about the life of psychic Sylvia Browne. It's not just any life story, it's actually chock full of inspiration for anyone who's ever been down and out. Here we learn how Sylvia got to where she is today and overcame such odds as her relationship with her mother and her previous, not-so-good, marriages.

Everyone (and not just fledgling psychics) who wants to better themselves can benefit from this book. Check out the Life Themes. In my opinion, the price of the book is worth it if only for these.

Summary: A Shallow Book
Review: This book does not give all the important milestones of her life. It gives the readers a feeling of scratching your itching foot through a boot.

Summary: "What is the purpose of Life?" (Ask Sylvia)
Review: If you have ever asked youself the above question you should definately read this book and be prepared for a very unique answer. This is the second Sylvia Browne book I have read and although there are a few "gaps" in the book for me, these are more directed toward Slyvia's life journey than her actual teachings about Life. This book is an easy but enlightening read that has truly changed my perspective on life and has awaken my own spiritual being which I never knew existed.

Summary: a light in the attic
Review: originally bought for me as a joke, this is the first book by sylvia browne i read. i had seen her on tv and was a little embarassed to say that "i believe her." my prior knowledge of psychics included dion warwick and miss cleo. ....
after reading this book i gave in and told the world "i believe." not being raised in a relgious household, i was given the opportunity to find out for myself what i chose to call my faith. sylvia browne is not a religion, she is the idea of faith in - something -. she embraces all relgions and has a very extensive knowledge of most of the relions practiced throughout the world.
while reading this book it was as if a lightbulb suddenly clicked on. blindingly so. i had found what made sense to me. i recommend this book to anyone searching for something. :)

Summary: Fascinating Autobiography
Review: I have found all of Sylvia's books to be fascinating and thought provoking. This one is no different.

Sylvia delivers her life story with sincerity, humor and feeling. There is much to learn from Sylvia not only from a metaphysical perspective, but from the perspective of the challenges and triumphs she has endured in this lifetime. She is a strong and beautiful person who has made a difference to many lives by reaching out to others through her books. At the same time, Sylvia comes across as a very real everyday person in her book.

This is a very engaging story, and I would encourage anyone who has even a passing interest or curiosity in the metaphysical to read this book.

Summary: Adventures of a Psychic: The Fascinating Inspiring True-Life
Review: After reading this book, I started on a new journey wanting to know more on the subject of "Gnostic Christianity". I have seen Sylvia Browne on numerous television programs and have always been facinated by her abilities. Reading this book was like reading something I already knew. I thoroughly enjoyed her writing style, finding it extremely easy to understand. This was the type of book, for me, that I had to read until I finished it; and then I wanted more. As she states in her books, "take what you need and leave the rest........". I guess I have done just that and will continue to do so. If you need some enlightment and are tired of the same old stuff in religion, this is an excellent book to get started with. It gives you the insight of who Sylvia Browne is and where she is coming from. And hopefully, like me, you will find yourself reading one book of hers after another. ENJOY!!!

Summary: Definately an adventure
Review: I loved reading Sylvia's book. She is a brilliant storyteller, -and the fact that the story is her life, makes it even more compelling. I love her sense of humor and her honesty, but my favourite part is that she says, take what you can use, and leave the rest. Which I do.

The book will make you laugh and cry. And it will definitely make you think.

I enjoy the mix of life history, ghost stories, psychic cases and educational tools.
Coauthor Antoinette May makes the book come alive.

Summary: A Mixed Bag
Review: The book is part-biography, part-New Age studies. A primary theme is on perfecting the soul across many lifetimes. Many of the words serve to comfort and reassure.

At issue is how information about "The Other Side" (i.e., the afterlife, the "invisible world") is revealed to us. The reader is encouraged to subscribe to the authority of psychic Sylvia Browne and her spirit guide, "Francine" (a.k.a. "Iena," a deceased 16th-century South American Indian woman), and therefore accept these revelations as truth. I believe that Sylvia and Iena have part-knowledge of the invisible world, and my hope is that Iena is not crafting her own stories, perhaps for entertainment or deception. Is it safe to assume that spirit guides, like humans, do not always tell the truth, or are they infallible once they get to the other side? The reader must decide.

I was impressed with stories that told of assistance rendered to police and doctors. The ghost stories were appropriately spooky. The reading gets heavier when it offers spiritual exercises and statements of belief (based on a liberal Protestant Christian framework). There's some personal mudslinging here, too, that comes from an angry place, and it detracts a bit from the book's otherwise upbeat and hopeful tone.
